Thank you for taking the time to put this together Seth. Its great to see you out running again, I just love your vlogs. Respect To You Sir! Upward and Onward
Loved the Mach 5 and got based on your review. This feels even better. Have done over 200kms in the Mach 6. Foam is still perfect and it's great for long runs as well. Have Endorphin Speed 4 as well but just find myself reach for the Mach 6 9 times out of 10. Is a snug fit but that's fine for me. Great running too Seth
Love the Mach 4. One pair was retired after 1100 km, another pair is still in use with 700 km. Perfect for faster runs, but I loved to do my 30 km runs in them. And back then, you were the reason i bought them, so thank you Seth!
I got a pair of the Mach 4's and they were okay. The upper is amazing and the shoes offer a smooth transition. It kind of reminded me of the old Nike Epic React FK 2. Light and snappy with the right amount of cushioning. Wasn't my favorite for longer runs, but for daily miles and faster work they were pretty good. Downside was the outsole (or lack there of). Durability was non-existent for me, and traction was questionable in slick conditions. In a way, I like what they are doing with the Mach 6.
Great Vlog as always Dr Seth. You mentioned that the Mach 6 is more suited for middle distance. However I saw another Shoe Vlogger used the Mach 6 for a 20+ run with no issues.
I had a great experience in the M5, logging 499 miles in 2023. I just loved the ride, and have held up really well. Pros: lightweight, closer to the ground, good/soft ground contact, good laces, breathable, ample toe box space, maybe a mild rocker for good transitions, and good energy return for tempo runs. I am curious to learn about the upgrades in the M6. Some desired improvements for me would be more of a snug & structured upper, light rubber on the outsole for extended life, maybe a firmer ride without losing that energy return, not having the lacing system so close to each other, more streamlined with better natural fit/room around the toe box. That heel design for the midsole is understated how good it is for running downhills IMO. Also that heel flair, though it looked cool. It really bothered my left achilles when I developed an injury in that area, it is pretty stiff. I think Hoka may have changed the midsole, so I am wondering how that is gonna play out. I do feel the M5 would bottom out for me on longer runs as well, so maybe the added stack height might help in that area. 👟
I burned through two pairs each of the Machs 4 and 5. The 4 is still one of the all-time great daily trainers. I liked the ride of the 5 a little better, but the lockdown and tongue was not as good for me. Not sure I'll go with the Mach 6 this time, may opt for the Rebel v4 instead.
I have over 600 Km with the 5. Love it. Light, comfortable, stable, snappy…! But the outsole now is pretty straight where I land. Thinking about the 6 also for the long runs, but wasn’t expecting you saying that it’s not a long run shoe.
I’ve been looking forward to hearing info on this one. Not running right now (kiddo #4 arrives in May) but I’m definitely looking forward to getting the legs moving again.
I'm late to the Mach game and running in a pair of M5 that I got on sale a couple of months ago. It's my long run shoe (for me that's up to 15 mi) and I run faster in it than any other shoe, without trying to. I'm waiting on 100+ mile reviews of the M6 to see if the midsole foam holds up.
Mach 5 was my fav shoe I tried on in store in the past. Unfortunately I couldn't get them. I'm having to save money and going with shoes I know have crazy durability.
most reviews i have seen, including this one say snug fit (narrow toe box) go up half a size. I has the Mach5 and the fit was great in my size 12. So should i go 12.5?
Well shoot, just finished a (mostly) easy 40 minute run in the 6s and saw this pop up afterward! I like them so far in that i don't notice them while running, which is always a plus.
nice call on the DynaFit SkiMo goggles! gotta get you into skimo! when was the last time you did Abdominal Crunches using your kid as resistance? Dewa update: cracked the TOP 12 at RMD Nordic Natz in U18 at 16! She's right into Track; racing this weekend. just took a BIG BREATH, and got the Hoka Cielo (SEE-lee-Oh!) for Shiprock 1/2 Marathon in a month. just finished ski racing last weekend. Blessings from Durango!
Absolutely loved the Mach 4. Ran my first Ultramarathon in the Mach 4, JFK50 mile. Zero blisters and kept the feet peppy
epic!
Amazing that he finds anything in those piles.
amen
What is the story behind Seth running with goggles on?
Thank you for taking the time to put this together Seth.

Great first impression vlog. Felt like a classic Seth video and it brought some joy today.
What was everyone's favorite Mach? The 5 truly captured me.

Loved the Mach 4 and 5. One of the best lineup. 😊

just depends on the runners personal mechanics and comfort preferences
Another brilliant video I love how you incorporate your family into the video also great work
loooved the mach4! still wear em casually and they still make me smile when i pick em up.
Just learned an at-home hamstring training exercise watching this. Thanks!
Beautiful short video Seth, Thank you.❤☺️

That running shoe collection is next level!
What a great blessing if a man's family.
I loved both my Mach 4 and 5 and even though the Mach 6 isn’t quite as good as the 5, it’s still a great shoe, still my favorite line of shoes to date
I did exactly that, ended up choosing the Rebel v4 over the Mach 6. Haven't tried them out tho 😂
I ran in my last pair of Mach 4s last night. Getting unresponsive now but I refuse to turn them into yard shoes just yet.
I think it does great on long runs.
Your first statement post run gave me a good belly laugh. 😂
Not sure how I feel about Hokas narrowing trend.
Do you donate any of your running shoes to people that need shoes and can’t afford them? Lots of stock there😉
He once upon a time did but like most things he started, he stopped doing it with little explanation.

I had 4 copies of the Mach 4, I still have one very battered set that I use as a walking trainer, all down to your reviews.
I’ve been looking forward to hearing info on this one. Not running right now (kiddo #4 arrives in May) but I’m definitely looking forward to getting the legs moving again.
I had to sell my Mach 4 It was way too tight in the toe box. I getting along with the Mach 5 mainly using the 5 for a workout shoe.
so precious!
If this isn't a long run shoe can you recommend a long run shoe?

Seth I have a problem with the Mach 6 where my heels slip like crazy, did you get that at all?
All my Hokas have the heel slippage
any reason why it's not a long run shoe? I mean, the midsole is thick enough...
Seth, despite costly price, can you do a review of the Norda 001. I’d love your perspective from a thorough mountain runner review.
Great 👍 😊
Love the Mach 4, perhaps my favourite. Mach 5 good but not quite there. Have hovered over the 6 but haven’t committed to purchase
fits on last mach 5 (US 10.5), should i take upsize (11)or pick wide variant (10.5)?
Still have a pair… have over 1,000 miles on them.. can’t bring myself to delete them from my lineup…
Mach 4
Mach 5
Mach 6
Mach x
BOOM!
Nice!!!!!
I have Mach 4, is Mach 6 an upgrade?
Hey, nice socks! I have those same ones. "Incylence" brand
Mach 5 was my fav shoe I tried on in store in the past. Unfortunately I couldn't get them. I'm having to save money and going with shoes I know have crazy durability.
Like my Mach 4s but the outsole wear pretty bad for the low milage. If I didn't get them on clearance I'd probably not buy another pair of Hokas
most reviews i have seen, including this one say snug fit (narrow toe box) go up half a size. I has the Mach5 and the fit was great in my size 12. So should i go 12.5?
So far in my limited shoe history the Mach X is the king of pure comfort....
Well shoot, just finished a (mostly) easy 40 minute run in the 6s and saw this pop up afterward! I like them so far in that i don't notice them while running, which is always a plus.
How does running in the goggles feel, are those specifically for running or something you just found out worked?
best shoes ever
16th. Nice to see you!

tweener?
In hindsight they were not that special. They have been surpassed by the Deviate Nitro 2 and the Superblast.
Not enough response for the price point. The NB fuel cells are much better
Thanks Seth, never been a fan because of what you mentioned on the fit, way too narrow for me.
Loving the Mach 6 so far!
