jac'quinn Inman What is your budget? For a cpu I'd suggesst an r7 1600 with a b350 motherboard (any brand). 16bg of ddr4 2400mhz+. Your gpu depends on your resolution. 4k 60fps isnt a thing yet. Literally only one card can pull it off. The 1080ti. I'd suggest you get a second hand 980ti overclock it and game at 1440p till gpu prices go down or we see volta.

I played Age of Empires 2 on Playstation 2, back in the good old times.
Same here it's the only game I actually beat my dad on by building a ton of Canon defense towers and a wonder lol but he denies ever losing to me....

But the part about the casualisation of games made me realize that all the creativity in games was something that had reached its pick in between 95-05. After that, it just begun to fall flat. And now, we've reached the level 0 of creativity in AAA games, it is like all the progress in games that were made before has been forgotten. With company pushing more fore the quick and ez money (Electronic Farts for exemple) with the dlcs that are just parts of the base game sold apart, and the microtransactions system that every company is trying to put in their game now. It won't be very long before they find out a new way to take even more money from us. Let's see, we pay for the games, we pay for part of the games, we pay for ingame items, and on console they pay a subscribtion for nothing (online).
How about paying to keep playing huh ?
O-7931 I hate paying for online especially paying to play 1st party multiplayer only games. I mean they want you to buy their overpriced locked down hardware, but their shitty game for full price and pay some more to actually play the game. What a load of bullshit
the creativity in games didn't go anywhere, it's just that AAA devs fired all the talent and it went to create their own games. Some of them failed, but many didn't. This has been going on for at least a decade now, game studios splitting up to make great games elsewhere.
Of course if you're *only* looking at games made by companies that were big back in the day, then you obviously won't find anything. Because they *used* to be good. They made some awesome IPs and now they are resting on their laurels.
Open your mind and seek out new horizons, you won't be disappointed. Oh, and also never pre-order, always wait for a few reviews on whatever platform you buy your games from.

I think the reason Microsoft isn't investing in new ip is they know the xbox brand is doing bad and is slowly switching to pc since that market is way bigger, the fact that all the games come to pc and have that cross play thing, they know xbox isnt doing good
there's no reason to support the xbox when PC gaming is vastly superior. they can leave the consoles to sony and point the finger at them a few years later when it becomes obvious to EVERYONE that consoles SUCK compared to PCs. they're holding back the gaming industry from making much better games and i find it hard to believe no one in microsoft is smart enough to realize they can make more money by making better quality games.
