The blood war is essential warhammer 40k one evil oppressive force vs a even more evil force that want absolute chaos or wants to devour the galaxy so some parts of D&D are very grimdark.
@@tonydanatop4912 it never was about order and chaos. Besides since when have you know the polytheistic gods to ever cooperate. Especially when you have some evil apples in the batch.

I created this devil villain known as Uzinam who despises demons due to their lack of rules, and so he tried to convince the archdevils that the Blood War was a good thing. Unfortunately the archdevils ignored his constant complaining, putting it off, until the demons eventually reached Avernus. Because my players were more chaotic, they were on the side of the demons more than the devils, and so Uzinam became an enemy of the players. It was cool.
Current campaign has the blood war leak into the material plane. Devils found ways to making umbilical cords to Hell so Archdevils don’t lose any of their power once they hatch from ritual eggs. Demon worship has gotten more intricate as followers wisen up to summon demons on much larger scales. The main threat to the last continent on my planet is Yeenoghu who is on the rise as he made a lot of gnolls and even got intelligent, but weak willed spellcasters to help. Along with Mephistopheles who my players will indirectly help finish his ritual this summoning his 19 mile egg. Once all the pieces fall their gonna have to help a Lich vacuum both evils into the negative zone to destroy their forms and send them back to their respected dimensions.
As usual, the Daemons receive no credit for their role in keeping the Demons and Devils at each other's throats and perpetuating the Blood War. Of course, that's the way they like it. Overlooked so no one realizes who the true threat is.

So much so that they even gain the attention of those balance licking toadies of the multiverse that start manipulating events, IE: the pcs, to stop their plan less their precious stalemate be affected.
Now I just want to make a campaign where Hell manages to broker a temporary truce with the demons, basically telling them "we won't stop you from messing up over the cosmos as long as you don't interfer with us." Then he goes to the Council of Good Guys and tells them "oh dear, the demons aren't fighting us any more, what a shame. But you know, we could stop them if we all worked together and wiped them out... just saying." Wouldn't happen. Demons simply cannot stop fighting and murdering, so devils can't stop either, and even if they did it's not like they would take over the material plane together since once it was under fiendish control there would be way fewer souls for the devils to corrupt, and the demons could also just kill every mortal ever while they have access to the material plane, so this would make hell's recruitment drive halt and that way the demons would just steamroll absolutely everything, the hells, gehenna, acheron, maybe they could even take the higher planes, and both the demons and the devils know this so the devils will not let a cease fire happen. After all asmodeus is the one purposefully prolonging the war to keep the souls a-pumping.
