  • Finding your creative style is one of the essential parts to visual storytelling. But it's not something that comes to you overnight. And if it does... you're one of the chosen ones.
In this video I break down 3 tips that helped me find my creative style in the world of photo and video. I walk through my journey, share some cringey truths and provide insight so that you can fast track your creative style.
Worth noting, creative style is something that is forever changing. So don't expect your work to be the same a year, 10 or even 15 years from now. Because when you look back at the last bit of time you've been cracking away at whatever your outlet is -- I'm willing to bet your creative style looks a lot different. That's progress.

Wow. I'm impressed how much you grew in only 7 years!!!😮 id love to know, when you take video, like in your India reel, do you use a gimbal? I recently got a Sony but the thing with the lense is so heavy(for me) that I find video impossible. And didn't realize there'd be so much to think about when it came to thinking about editing it. I have given up for now. I got overwhelmed and having a regular full time job it's hard to find the time to learn. I'd love to learn. If you can recommend a source for learning video I'd love that. Thanks for the inspiration!

Well thank you! 7 years feels like a lifetime to me haha. And video is so different than photo. I think what clicked for me is that I just love it so much that I put in lots of hours watching videos here on TH-cam and just learning. Like a sponge! Day in and day out, when I had the time. I don’t use a gimbal, all handheld or tripod. I’ll be coming out with more videos about making videos (haha) so what specifically do you need help with? Happy to cater a video towards that - chances are you aren’t the only one with your questions 🤍

@@hannahrheaume oh gosh thanks for replying! Well I guess I am lost when it comes to settings for videos and don't really want to have to edit yet, I know there are all these video settings for editing but I'd like to get as best color to nature straight out of camera, and then specifically after that, how to manage the focus. Thanks so much I'll stay tuned. I have watched TH-cam videos before but I feel they get into things above my head or don't really answer my questions. I also am not sure I'm in love with my Sony. I had a starter nikon once that the colors were just stunning out of and I don't really love the colors out of my Sony. I don't know .
