      Hey Jacob Merry Christmas! to you and a Sweetwater team. I really like the first piece you played. I play piano and long time I am waiting for the replacement of Kawai MP11SE but it’s already a too much waiting and now I have a one more option Studio-Logic NUMA-X-GT. I really love the sound acoustic and electric, sounds too good some how I feel it’s a better sounding piano in current competition in same category and also suits to pocket. I have no doubt about sound but only little worried about the key action but I hope TP400 give satisfaction to the professional piano player. Only two important reason I love Kawai 1) Grand-Feel2 action and 2) It’s a very good as a controller. I am not a big fan of fatar keys but every company works for better future in making business and TP400 look interesting. It would be a great if you can make video one action comparison Kawai MP11SE/Yamaha CP88 and Roland RD2000. Thank you so much 🙏 Have a wonderful festival season. 🎄🎄🎄❤️🤗

      Just want to share this. JESUS CHRIST died for you on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and was, is, and will be The TRUE LIVING GOD. In a prayer repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. Have FAITH in CHRIST. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and turn away from all wicked ways. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. God Bless You. JESUS CHRIST IS COMING BACK SOON.

    Owner here: amazing keybed and great action. It weighs a ton (seriously) but if you're looking for feel it's hard to go past at the price point. Downsides: soundbanks, interface, no ability to sample or load your own, locked into the Numa manager (terrible), Studiologic releasing banks like "Movie Strings" - ridiculous. If it had the ability to wipe all the factory banks (keeping the pianos) and the ability to sample and create your own banks THEN it would be a Nord killer hands down. Studiologic have got lost in their own hype as far as sounds go (trust me - Kontakt will far out do the factory banks on this unit) but because it's FATAR well yeah, action is killer.
    Also, the FX do NOT apply to the inputs so forget about individual instruments. The master FX do relate however that's very restrictive. Again, this unit sells on its action and feel. If you are on stage then this may be of interest but if you're studio bound then stick to the same action on a MIDI machine. Realistically, a laptop will give you a lot more flexibility and a greater sound palette.
    Studiologic boffins: please read! You could wipe the market if you listened to your customers a little more. There is NO reason to limit this unit to a locked and antiquated system of seemingly narrow and unusable soundbanks based on someone at FATAR thinking they know what the musician wants - I mean PlectraXPluck and ClariXPack? C'mon that's just silly. You make great keys no question, but you have absolutely no idea what is needed sonically (ironically UVI is featured on the website but it's ignored as far as versatility goes). Just take a leaf from the Roland or Nord book and you will be on your way.

    It may be that the TP400W action of this Numa is a marked improvement over that of the Nord Pianos (i.e., lighter and more expressive than the TP40 Nord uses), but the ac. pianos sound thin and brittle. (Nord’s piano samples- especially the more recent ones- are really unbeatable in a hardware axe.) Sure, one could use the Numa to control, say, a Nord Electro 6D, but that really defeats the purpose of the Numa, and what pianist wants to carry what would essentially be a nearly-50lb. controller in addition to the Nord? From what I can surmise, Studiologic TOTALLY missed the mark on this one.

Of course, there will always be some degree of a lag when loading a new preset, but the Numa X is fairly seamless in this regard. Generally, the better the keybed quality -- especially for piano-like action -- the heavier the keybed and thus the more structure needed to support it. If it's a stage instrument like this, you also want it to be solid enough to survive the gig!

    • @DouglasFlather
      @DouglasFlather 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and Amen. My PX-S3000 is 25 pounds and that's about as heavy as I think is reasonable for active gigging. IMHO 45-50lbs is not a "stage" piano.

      Hi, thanks for your interest! There are a few ways you can change the sound on the Numa X Piano GT. For a live performance, the quickest way would probably be to set up a list of Favorites. You can have up to 24 sounds on the list, in any order you choose, and you’d be able to switch between them quickly by using the main encoder. Hope this helps a bit, and feel free to contact me directly with any further questions!

    What s the difference between tp 40 action in sl grand and the tp 400 in this one ?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for your interest! The SL88 Grand actually uses the TP/40WOOD keybed - so the biggest difference is wooden keys on the SL88 vs. plastic on the Numa X. They're both great-feeling, weighted Fatar keybeds. Keep in mind that the SL88 is only a MIDI controller and does not have sounds on board like the Numa X. Hope this helps a bit, and feel free to contact me directly with any further questions!

    How do you save a user preset? I can't seem to find it on the user manual

      Hi, Eli! Thanks for your interest. After scrolling through the Program pages to change parameters on a given Program, the last page should give you the option to rename and save the Program. Alternatively, it might be easier to use the Numa Manager software to organize and edit your Programs.
      Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me directly with any further questions!

    does it have triple sensor?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Antoine - good question. This piano uses the Fatar TP/400 keybed which is triple sensor.
      Thanks!

    TP400 action is not precisely "new" unless they redesigned the original one, someone prove me wrong

      It's not "new", although this is the first TP-400WOOD ES (escapement) that's shown up in a stage instrument anywhere near this price-point, AFAIK. I think the Studiologic SL88 Grand also has the TP-40 or -400 WOOD, but not with the escapement option. The high-end Dexibells (e.g H10) do, but that's geared toward the home market and costs well over $6k USD if you can find them. That said, most manufacturers customise Fatar keybeds to one degree or another when they put them in their instruments. And, of course, Studiologic and Fatar are tied at the hip!

      @@mrdavies7894 Doesn't escapement just make the keyboard play slower?

    • @mrdavies7894
      @mrdavies7894 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@blueeyedsoulman, I’m not sure what you mean. In a real piano action, escapement actually allows you to play much faster by moving (escaping) the hammer mechanism off of the key action, allowing one to “re-trigger” the key much sooner than if the hammer first had to return back to the base position, or if the key and hammer were tightly coupled. It doesn’t serve much use in a digital keyboard (with possible exception of very high end Kawai action, though I don’t know how the Fatar action works, here), but what it does do is give a more piano-like experience for the player. For someone more used to synthesisers, organs, or for whom the piano is not a primary instrument, this isn’t a terribly useful option. But for folks looking for the most piano like feel to go with the best piano sound they can get, escapement is really essential.

    not bad at all...but can't possibly beat one vintage yamaha keyboard that costs between £60-£160 on ebay...and i am not going to say which keyboard that is ...for understandable reasons...and no choir on any keyboard beats the good old roland fp5 choir....that is the epic one!

    Could you compare GT with Dexibell vivo S10? With one has the better key action?
