In one of your previous videos, you suggested using one of the Dollar Tree scarfs as a table runner, I adopted the idea for a family Christmas party this weekend at my father's senior living community. They provided white table cloths and red napkins and I bought two scarfs for each table and criss crossed them on a square table. I then bought three black Dollar Tree frames of different sizes and put old family Christmas pictures in them on top of the scarfs. It really added a festive feeling to the room and everyone loved the old pictures. The total decorations were $30 for a large room set for 24 people. Thanks so much for the idea!
I did 2 runners out of the scarves too and I made pillows to match! Such a good idea and everyone comments on them when they come into our home. Love your channel! Happy Holidays💓
Denise G they are a little picked over in our area, but a manager heard us talking and said they lots in the back and someone went back and got them for us. Might be worth asking!
I LOVE the idea of bookmarking a page and giving everything to make that dish! Such a good idea for anyone who loves to cook or even a young adult just learning to cook!
YAAAS, Kathryn! This method is my go-to year round! I've been invited to things last minute (we are talking an hour before) and I've ran to the dollar tree, grabbed a pretty container, card, bow and cellophane and filled that thing with $15-$20 worth of items I know they'll love. It never feel last minute to that special person. It's a win-win! It works for birthdays, holidays, milestones like baby showers.. etc. Thanks for sharing your ideas and thinking of those of us on a budget! ❤
Really appreciate you taking so much time and effort to do these videos. They really add value and reduce stress for last minute shopping on a tight budget. Loved all of the ideas but my personal favorite was a toss between the wine basket and the "make something from a recipe book" basket. Clever and creative! Thank you.
I work for Dollar tree and have told a few customers about your videos. I hope the take the time to watch a few and put together some great gifts. Right now, we're barely able to keep things on our shelves. Plus, asking for donated items for VA patients and homeless kids. I hope some people have a wonderful holiday and k ow they're not forgotten.
Oh I could pinch myself for not having gotten around to seeing this in 2018- this is by far the BEST gift idea video of 2018. The ideas are smart, cute, personable and realistically priced. I'm pinning the video for the holiday season and I think there's lots of great ideas here for general gifts for other occasions too. Also if you can spare the storage space I always make a mental note BECAUSE the dollartree by me is in horrible shape the closer we get to December, to just grab little goodies I see throughout the year that I think friends&family would love, and I tuck them away to be wrapped and gifted in December.
I love doing this. I enjoy finding items that I know the person will actually use plus a few ”new-to-them" items & putting them in a reusable container. Outs also a fav to receive, it feels very personal. Tfs & for the little dance at the end. 😊
Here’s an idea: stick a recipe in with the wine gift. I don’t drink wine, but still love to get wine for a gift because it’s awesome to cook with. For those that do drink wine it may just come in handy. 🍷
I absolutely love the idea you came to with the basket where you choose a recipe and put together everything you need to do it , I will you it thank you ( kisses from France 🇫🇷 )
I work with kids and I love the magnetic Christmas countdown! Fun fact: DT cookie sheets are magnetic and could possibly work for this as well. I got my niece a mixture of animal and alphabet magnets, decided to chance a DT cookie sheet and it worked! entertains her for extended periods of time. 🙌🏼 I loved both of your baskets too! They look like lavish gifts that I’d love to receive! Thanks for the ideas that don’t break the bank! 🎅🏼🎄🎁🎉
i love making those baskets! what i do is use baskets that i already have a ton of! i used to collect baskets and i have so many now but i didn't want to just send them to the thrift store because i had paid a lot for some of them.. so i use them for things like this. it's fun too. i love the idea of a cook book marked and all the ingredients added! so smart. and yes.. the book section in dollar tree is awesome. i buy books there all the time and have a family that loves to read so it's a gold mine for me!!
Love all your videos but this is my favorite! As new first time home buyers your channel has been helping so much. We are really tight without budget for Christmas this year but now I feel it will be a success after watching this! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Omg!!! You make the worst time (all picked out) look flawless!!! The last minute ideas are awesome and so budget friendly, yet thoughtful. ..thanks again Kathryn xoxo
Thanks so much for the awesome ideas! Last year for the people at my hubbys office I put together gift baskets all from DT with a spending limit of $10-$15 each. They all loved them. It was so fun and totally stress free💜
I was able to get out this afternoon. I went to the Dollar Tree in Concord. I found both of the hardback books you found. I bought all 3 copies of the wine book. I have a lot of wine drinkers in my life. Love when I find good books for a $1!
I've been watching for years and I love and appreciate that your videos have stayed so on point, and quality! Your enthusiasm really shows for all your ideas and you and the fam are always a joy to watch!
Kathryn, you are by far THE BEST at putting together gift baskets and DIY's that look so high-end1! I love your Christmas playlist! Absolutely brilliant! You have a great eye and always pick out the best from a store :) ❄️
This is a wonderful idea. Thank you for sharing! FYI: I have fallen so in love with your "little helper" - what a cutie! I used to do the small surprises with my children when they were small. With your show and how you include him, what wonderful memories he will have when he is older.
Those little candles are magnificent! I bought a few watermelon ones back in April for a baby shower (because they were pink and the location was a tad musty smelling). Anyway, the place smelled like watermelons in no time and the scent even covered up some of the louder food smells. I was super impressed! GOT to check out the cinnamon one as that is my Christmas scent! I also hit Dollar Tree for stocking stuffers - nail files, lint rollers, travel packs of tissues, hair bands, etc - combined with some candy and a magazine make one great stocking! My friends love it!
I collect DT items throughout the year and Christmas time. But I have trouble putting everything together to make a gift. Thx so much for this inspiration. You rock!
I had been agonizing over what activities I could add to our Advent Calendar so we've never really followed through with it. The little building block gifts (or others) is great for those days when we won't have the proper amount of time to devote to an activity. Thank you for such an adorable idea Kathryn! It also takes care of a spot in my home that I just don't get along with....the side of my refrigerator. This is a kid-friendly idea that has a purpose, but also calms my need for things to appear cohesive. Colds have struck our house so in between disinfecting sessions, I've been watching more and more of your videos. I didn't think I was addicted, but I tried watching some other vloggers yesterday. Nope. Sorry. They just didn't have the same sparkle and innovation. P.S. I just watched one of your cleaning videos and you said that music with 160+bpm helps motivate to clean. Could you post some or all of your cleaning playlist? Thanks! Michelle
You are SO creative and you always have the best ideas! Thanks to you, I reorganized my pantry for $34 using only things I found at Dollar Tree! I would love to be able to DIY with you and grab a coffee-- Matina from Greenville, SC
You're the best Kathryn! Love your personality and your ideas! Thanks for sharing your wonderful boys with us. You always brighten my day and provide me with some great ideas and inspiration. God bless and Merry Christmas! You do you girl!!!!
I have some gift baskets to put together for our church’s missionary kids that are in college, and I went to the dollar store to round them out (people in our church donated a lot already). I was able to get full size toothpaste, nice soap and lotion for the girls, name brand snacks and more.
Excited about the Advent calendar. Set it up yesterday afternoon for my granddaughters. It's so cute and cute a great idea. Also enjoying your snowman wreath idea on my front door! You rock!!! Thanks for all your great ideas. You are such a blessing. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Love these ideas, especially the cookbook with ingredients!!! I also go to used book stores for cookbooks on a budget as often they look brand new and are a quarter of the price!
Love that advent calendar idea! This year I decided to that using DT brown paper bags, printable cute numbers that I glued to cut out circles of card stock (Michael’s has some good options for Christmas and rustic paper), a hole punch and baker’s twine to tie the numbers to the bags. Filled them up with DT and Five Below goodies and I think my kiddos and hubby will be pleasantly surprised!
I love the advent calendar. So cute and classy. The gift basket ideas are so beautiful as well. Love all of your videos. I watch everyone and recommend them to all of my friends and family. Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family.
Kathryn your ideas are so awesome, simple, and chic very cute gift 🎁 wrapping thanks for sharing the wine and cook 👨🍳 👩🍳 book recipe gift idea, wow that’s so genius. Your channel gives me life sincerely - ILONA-
Just an idea, but you can buy magnetic paint in a small can from most anywhere...use that on a board large enough to hold the cans for the advent calendar. 😊
I have a stainless fridge and magnets work on mine. Just be careful about the magnets. I noticed that some magnets stratch the surface and if the kids are pulling them off or sliding them off, it can do a bit of damage.
You’re brilliant! I’ve been searching for the larger tins& can’t find them in the DC area. But I have found (finally!) the BIG DollarTree stores. Nothing but tiny ones near me. You’ve your verve.😎
Always enjoy your videos! Advent tree is too cute. Guess I should go to thrift stores n look for some baskets to house these great gift ideas! Your videos & a cup o' coffee are the perfect duo! Appreciate you!

I have not been able to find the scarves at any area DT's. :(
Denise G they are a little picked over in our area, but a manager heard us talking and said they lots in the back and someone went back and got them for us. Might be worth asking!
I love when you show things from a SMALL Dollar Tree. 😍
Frickin out on her dulce de Leche pronunciation! 🤯 okkk! Go girl lol
Ella habla Espanol!
Me too!! Go Kathryn!!
she was/is a Spanish teacher..she is fluent
I totally forgot she spoke Spanish. Then I was like, oh yeah! Lol.
Was looking for this comment!!!

Girl !! You are great !! You can take a few dollar items & put together a gift basket that looks very expensive !! Love it !!!

Love the advent tree - such a sweet idea
I LOVE the idea of bookmarking a recipe and buying all the ingredients to make it. That's brilliant! I would genuinely enjoy receiving that.
I love that she is so genuine and innovative
What a FABULOUS way to create an advent tree! So simple and AMAZING! 💝
I absolutely love the idea you came to with the basket where you choose a recipe and put together everything you need to do it , I will you it thank you ( kisses from France 🇫🇷 )

I totally agree, the books at the Dollar Tree are amazing!!
You are always wonderful, as well as your ideas. You are my favorite to watch. Thank you for all you do. Many blessings to your sweet family.
Using those tins for a homemade advent calendar is amazeballs! I love that after your done with it you can still use it for spices or craft storage!!

Totally my kind of gifts. I prefer a collage of gifts over one big one
Yes, Dollar Tree really did up their game this year!! I even saw stencil wheels this year! 👍🎁
You're aweome ! Great ideas! In loving the cookbook and adding the items for that recipe! Smart cookie😁
I'm always so amazed by your spanish pronunciation!

I'm so impressed with the quality and practicality of the gift ideas from the DT

She said Dulce de Leche BEAUTIFULLY AND I AM CLAPPING! Plus, she’s gorgeous and these ideas are great!
I SOOOO appreciate that you say dulce de leche properly ♥️♥️♥️
Its easy to say ....
As an Argentinean I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your pronunciation of Dulce De Leche!!! 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩😘😘

My Dollar Tree has been stocking some FABULOUS books recently!
You make it so anybody can do it! Thanks! I need gifts all the time so....perfect idea. ❤️
I collect DT items throughout the year and Christmas time. But I have trouble putting everything together to make a gift. Thx so much for this inspiration. You rock!
I just adore him. I am so excited about your ideas. They are great to have on hand.
Ok, was the mug teetering in the edge stressing out anyone else? 🤣😳 Thanks for the great tips!
Those are my favorite candles. I’m a massage therapist so go through candles like crazy in my office so these are great for the price.
Katherine, each of your videos makes me smile and take a step back to look at the important things. You do you Girl!!
I swear your videos make my Monday's better. Thanks for sharing ❤

Do you have a stainless steel fridge? Magnets don't stick to mine but I LOVE the idea!
Marriage & Motherhood it is! Ours is magnetic! Isn’t that cool? You can do it on the side too 👍👍
Just an idea, but you can buy magnetic paint in a small can from most anywhere...use that on a board large enough to hold the cans for the advent calendar. 😊

you have a real stainless fridge then..magnets will not stick to a fridge that appears to be stainless..aka what I have..lol
Put it on your dishwasher! Mine is stainless but it holds magnets!

I bought some of the diffusers. The pomegranate smells very nice. It's on my desk now.( I got more for gifts.)
Wow you have such a creative mind - love the fridge magnets!
Great video! I love the coffee table books, they look really pricey and elegant.
Good morning Kathryn! Love your ideas. You always come up with great ideas. Thanks so much for sharing.
Great video! As a former teacher, could you do a video on gifts you both loved and got sick of receiving?
Kathryn I just love all your ideas! Just amazing!
The dollar tree is the best. Even when everything has been “picked over” 😂 I can still manage to find some fun stuff...love all your videos!
The advent tree with tins is so cute!
