To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

They do sound amazing and their noise canceling tech is the best of the category but could not make it work smoothly in any computer (either Mac or windows)... sound stutters too much. Also not good on windy days as you can hear the wind hitting them

I've had these for a couple weeks now. They are mostly great:
    - Excellent sound quality
    - Fairly comfortable
    - Love the long battery life and case recharging
    - Decent amount of noise cancelling: fairly good at removing the lows, struggles to remove the highs.
    --
    - Fit isn't tight enough to wear them working out IMO
    - No weather proofing
    - The symmetrical shape makes it a bit tricky to know how to orient them in your ear and case, if you take them off

as an Audio Engineer, I interpreted this feature as something that was not applicable to almost any mp3's. Basically the feature they included is easy to code for so they threw it in even tho there are barely any use cases. It sounds cool and makes you expect all your music to sound good so good overall ROI on the feature creation from Sony. Linus probably knew that and didnt wanna throw them under the bus so he was polite about it.

I've had them 3 months, I was looking at getting the WH-1000XM3 after watching LTT's comparison video sometime before but I was put off by their bulk, I think any over-the-head headphones are showy really not my style. Then when I saw that there was a bud-style true-wireless option I knew what I had to get.
I had a bad experience at first and had to send them for repair (that's a long story as I live in China) but they are great, having first thought they were large I no longer notice them, I get many hours listen time, even though I keep the noise cancelling on full all the time as the switching of the modes was annoying and noise cancelling is very useful here.
Before I bought these the most I'd paid for headphones was £40 twenty years ago and that pair lasted me a long time, but the sound quality on these blew my mind. I've heard all sorts of new instrument and vocal sounds on music I've listened to hundreds of times previously.
I love these and want to protect them as best as possible, I will be gutted if they get smashed or lost, I bought a silicone sleave at first but that was very thin and held onto dust. I searched JD and Taobao the two main shopping sites in China and I bought the best option, I would love to share this with you but I can't find it available anywhere else.

These were the first where I was like: yeah, this is good enough to replace my wired in-ears.
    1) great sound, kinda small sound stage but clear mids and tight bass.
    2) ANC works well in some cases. talking it struggles with but airconditioning and other noises it really dampens. wind shear reduction mode also works great on the bike
    3) they fit well for me
    4) battery is very good if you don't max volume, and I barely go over mid volume.

Can confirm. These buds are like nothing else I have ever heard. Listening to a high quality FLAC version of Dark Side of the Moon with these is just simply amazing. I haven't really noticed any downsides, except the tips. I bought some aftermarket Comply foam TrueGrip tips and it completely changed the game for me. I primarily use them while at work and after a couple hours of use, I stick them back in the case and over the course of my 30 min - an hour lunch break they are fully charged again so I never really have to worry about them dying on me. Not to mention even after days of use without charging the case, I still haven't had to worry about any issues with the life span of the charge. I usually only use one bud at a time while working and I love that if one of the buds dies while at work, I can just stick the other one in and keep on listening. Couldn't ask for a better pair of wireless earbuds in my opinion. Buying these prompted me to go through my music library and replace all my music with high quality FLAC files because the quality is just unrivaled at this point. I haven't tried Sonys over ear version. But, these are definitely the best sounding headphones that I have ever used.

Watched this using my ones of these. Like Linus said, make sure you use the correct size tip. I just used the ones that were on by default (they fitted pretty well still, if a tiny bit loose) for the first few days and the bass wasn't great and neither was the noise cancelling. Changed them out for some slightly larger ones from the selection that fit perfectly and the bass is much better and noise cancelling much improved compared to with the originally used tips.

I have these and the only two gripes is that unless it's perfectly in place after a few hours your ears might feel it and second being no official waterproof rating, outside of that the APP has been updated to show battery levels for the case and earbuds, the sound quality and adjustment for the average listen is far above average quality, like very good and bass is surprisingly good. I love these and if they released a version with a waterproof rating, I'd buy them without a second thought, they are that good.

I've had these for over a month. Before i got them, I thought the noise cancelling was a gimmick i wasnt gonna use too much because i didnt really care about background noise and didnt want to sacrifice audio quality. HOWEVER, I found myself using the ANC feature pretty much everywhere that was noisy. It really cancels out a lot of noise and doesn't noticeably affect audio quality. It makes you feel more immersed in the music, like you are in a movie scene with no sound effects but the music. The mic isnt as bad as they say, I've never had anyone tell me they cant understand what im saying when im in a call with these or playing Pubg. Sound quality is definitely top notch. Extremely clear sound, I am hearing things in songs that I had not noticed before. The bass isn't forced or overpowering. It is a natural and clear sounding bass, unlike the boosted lows of the Jabra Elite 65T that i previously owned. On my Jabras, i also experienced a slight static sound even when i wasnt playing any media. However, these dont suffer from thay issue or any bluetooth connectivity issues. The battery life is overkill. I have never gone below 50% battery on these and I have gone over a week without charging them (with pretty heavy usage.)
Here are the cons: The fit.
you gotta stick these really far into your ear for the best sound and comfort, otherwise you will feel the weight of them kind of hanging out your ear. Everytime i put them on, i take like 10 seconds adjusting them to fit perfectly. you are supposed to insert them and twist them 90° degrees so that they line up parallel to the ground if you are looking straight.
Touch controls are also a little hard to get used to because i find i often forget where the sensor is and i tap other parts of the earbud that dont do anything

I recently got these and the experience so far has been great. The larger battery and quick charge was one of the main reasons it put it over the air pods pro. The audio and noise canceling is awesome as well. The only gripe I had with them during my first week with them is that the battery level on the app was not always accurate. Sometimes it would say my battery level was 70% on only one ear bud, while they had been charging all day. Then 5min later the level on the app would change and it would be all good. I recently don’t experience this software issue anymore but it’s just notable. Don’t let that take away from the earbuds, it was just a tiny bug u thought was weird.

Feanor Chris It’s not about the quality really the seal is meant to ensure that the noise cancelling effect is in full effect. So if you can’t tell a difference when the noise cancelling is on or off then the ear tip is probably too small. Best way to test this is by having a constant noise (like a tv) and turning on and off the noise canceling. You should be able to tell a diff to bc trust Sony does a great job with the noise canceling

I had them - swapped them for the Apple AirPods Pro.
Not because they were bad. The Sony's were much better sound quality and noise cancelling, but the AirPods have a much smaller case and are waaay more comfortable to wear.
See below my experience compared with other NC products (I have no other Apple products)....
    Airpods Pro
    Noise Cancelling:
    6
    Sound quality:

    (6 after calibrating)
    Comfort:
    10 (Didn't move once in-ear)
    Ease of use:
8 (Full functionality on Android except hailing Assistant. I don't use Google assistant, so didn't miss it. "Squeeze button" sometimes a bit fiddly)
    Practicality:
8 (Tiny case, but USB-C to Lightning charge cable meant a new cable purchase to make them practical)
    WF-1000XM3
    Noise Cancelling:
7 (When they stayed in place)
    Sound quality:
    6
    (7 after calibrating)
    Comfort:
7 (Would often come loose and need re-seating in-ear)
    Ease of use:
8 (Integration and customisation with Android. Gestures sometimes a bit hit n' miss because of small size. Too easy to knock out of place)
    Practicality:
8 (Easy to charge, but bulky case)
