    To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

    Have had the XM3's now for half a year and they are by far the best I've ever had. The sound is great, the connection is always quick a strong and the touch sensitive sides are very easy. For me the use case for wireless earbuds is that I tend to wear them around the house or doing DYI and I only want to wear one because I want to be aware of what is happening around me (or if the wife is talking to me...) If the mids get drowned out, these would be a no-go for me. I’m someone who wants to hear everything equally without messing too much with EQs. Also, in-ears don’t stay in my ears too well as I have small earholes that, even when using small size eartips the in-ears still fall out, which is why I tend to stick either with around-ear or on-ear headphones. Currently using the Beats Solo Pros and I first thought I wasn’t going to like them, but after trying them out at a Best Buy (before the pandemic), I was actually quite pleased with the sound signature, especially with the Transparency mode used by the Apple chip installed in them, which actually brings out the sound more while also letting you hear what’s around you when you need it, though I would not recommend using the Transparency mode while running outside on a windy day because the wind will go right through and, at least for me, actually hurt the eardrums after a while.
    Maybe I’ll give in-ears another go around at some point, but that might not be for a while.

    Can you do a galaxy buds plus comparison with these?

    • @hw985a
      @hw985a 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The buds+ are incredible and do compete with these pretty closely as they also don't have active noise cancelling, but their battery life is higher and the profile is much smaller. The buds+ also have pretty crappy ambient passthrough with regards to voices, which they only just solved using a beta update which makes all other ambient sounds turn into jet engines (edit: this is no longer the case with more recent updates, the active passthrough is barely noticeable compared to having no earbuds). There's also very little user customisation regarding EQ and button presses, despite these being easy to implement, and that drags them down a lot compared to alternatives.
      From LTT's perspective, their sound quality goes down a lot if you don't use them with a Samsung phone which can use their proprietary bluetooth audio codec so I understand why they haven't really bothered to review them as they're more of a companion to a Samsung phone rather than a standalone pair of earbuds.

      Sony and Samsung in my opinion. AirPods Pro are decent as well bar the mediocre fit. Sennheiser is amazing at certain things, but closed back headphones and in ears are not one of them bar a few exceptions. The Momentum TWS is kind of carried by the Sennheiser name. If you own Momentums and like them, disregard this, but for first time buyers, you can get refurbished WF1000XM3s or Samsung Galaxy Buds (not even the plus) for a lot less, and they sound a lot more tonally correct in my opinion.

      @@maxcostco I got the XM3s and I've tested several other ones like the Airpods Pro, Airpods 2nd Gen, some cheaper ones from 50-100€ and I have to say that the difference is huge.
      I was so sceptical before I purchased the XM3s, but it's definitely worth it (Bought it for 180). The sound quality is on point, the ANC works so good and the battery life is also very good. The only downside is the lack of water resistent, on rainy days I would not recommend taking them out. But overall it's a very good product.
      The Airpods Pros are not a "bad" product, but the sound quality is just average, it has a worse battery life, the ANC is not as impactful as it is with the XM3s and if I'm not mistaken, you cant replace the batterys on the Airpods Pro.
      Overall, I'm looking forward the next gen Earbuds, a lot of improvements have been made since 2019

    • @maxcostco
      @maxcostco 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daek Auditore personally I would agree that the APP sound average, I mainly include it in the conversation because Apple always has a wildcard. Personally, I enjoyed the galaxy buds the most, but sold them after being gifted the APP, but the fit is often leaving a lot to be desired. Personally, battery is not a huge issue for me but I can see why. I usually charge the case when it hits around 20%, rarely if ever running out of juice in both the pods and the case when I’m out. I think the AirPods moreso rely on an unconventional tuning while Sony use a very solid bass lift and the galaxy buds straight up use the Harman target (which isn’t for everyone but just having a wireless option use a research backed tuning is VERY strong for the market as a whole)
