It also seems to be going unmentioned in a lot of review circles that the Gigabyte Gaming OC series tends to offer an additional year of support if you register it within 30 days of purchase pushing the standard warranty out to 4 years. I have never RMA'd a Gigabyte card so I am not sure if that is just a wink and nod style of warranty or if it is an actual stand by our products type warranty but something else to consider when weighing in the extra $70 US or whatever the foreign equivalent is.
Picked up this gpu a while ago was honestly schocked at the low temps even at 100% it was sitting aroung 55c to 60c.
This card currently sells for 839 euros, which is 200 euros over MSRP. Crazy.

@@jedenzet here in Czech cheapest aib models of 7900xt costs 20 000 (gigabyte gaming, i saw it yesterday) czk aka 860euro. thus its pretty much the same price. 24euro difference,well that doesnt realy metter in case of buying product well over 800euro. In case of 4070ti this one starts at almost 900euro.
I expected these to fly off of shelves since ppl seemed to ejaculate over the 599 msrp. They’re still in stock everywhere so I have faith that ppl aren’t buying it as much as I originally thought

I have the same card and I was able to get 165 core clock and 850 Memory it seams stable when running benchmarks.
Good review, but honestly it makes no sense to provide only 4k benchmarks for a 1440p card.

well, since im upgrading from a 1060 6g, i'd say its worth it since its my budget limit

So dumb question. I am picking up the “Gigabyte 4070 Windforce OC” this week from Best Buy. I currently have an MSI 3050. I believe the 3050 uses an 8 pin power cord. This 4070 uses an 8 pin power cord. So I should just be able to plug it into Mobo and use same 8 pin thats currently installed? Am I over thinking this? Or do I need to swap out to a new cable…. Sorry. Been a long time since I messed with PC’s. Just getting back into it. The last GPU i installed was a VOODOO.. which are not even around anymore lol
you can use the same cord. 8 -pin is an 8-pin. so you'll be fine. I ordered the same card. it was supposed to be here Thursday but it got delayed until Friday morning. Ordered it from BestBuy. What CPU you rockin?

Is this card voltage limited? Someone needs to modify a vBIOS like the More Power tool. The overclocking potential doesn’t make sense.
In Brazil, this model is still not available for purchase, and I also cannot find the Gigabyte 4070ti Master.

Here in Australia 🇦🇺…. We have no RRP / MSRP models only ‘o/c’ models at roughly $650-700USD pricing, (plus top tier models such as Strix, Aorus Master, Trio etc are at much higher prices). We also DO NOT get FE models at all 🤦🤦♀😵. Tbh, these gpus are soooo ridiculously overpriced I think Nvidia is simply using this generation gpus as a tax write off 🥱😴.
This lineup of gpu, bring the RTX 4070 should be a $499USD max!!! GPU and for top of the line models by AIBs, have 16gb vram, and due to the tiny GPU die size! Companies selling these gpus are I’m sure, for at least around 1.5 - 2x their total manufacturer costs and could easily drop RRP 25% and not even worry about it!

i got the asus dual and i get 3060 mhz with 235 oc on core and 1000 to mem never pass 55 degrees with fans speed at 40% 204,9 w power consumption i watch other 3 coolers 4070 and i don t think the extra money worth ..
How did you raise power limit that high? I have the same card and used msi afterburner and it maxes at 108

Just bought this with a ryzen 7 7800x3d and a deepcool ak620 in a bundle for 980 british pounds
on my inno3dx3 i push +220 on core but power 100% (cant do over) and mamory +1800 590 gb/s.max 60c ... this is a light overclock / i dont know why +48% on power for 2/5 watt more .no sense. anyway i never use overclock but i use undervolt 2700 clock 0.935 v +1500 on memory 110/160 watt 130 avg temps 50/55 c with fan at 1200 rpm loosing 1/2 frames
What is the difference between this and the windforce oc?

Isn't that an 8 Phase Design (Not 6 as said) and 3 for Memory? Looks like on the PCB and even the MSRP Windforce OC has an 8 Phase Designs.

Better off grabbing a 6950 XT for cheaper and having more vram for longevity, since developers are going vram crazy now.

@@Ebilcake actually in many tests I’ve seen, Ray tracing performance is pretty identical at 1440p. The 4070ti stomps them both though, frame generation is hit or miss, but it’s very Artificial. Yes it can smooth out games, but it’s not really increasing your real framerate. Price is actually in line with the two, about $600 give or take on both now. So really power consumption is all the 4070 wins at. 12gb of vram is insulting though. So AMD gets the vram win. Did not get me wrong, I’m not fanboying for AMD, I tend to own Nvidia GPUs 90% of my history with both. I’m just pointing out that there’s options that may have more longevity due to some me recent games vram thirst. In fact, I’m excited to see intel’s next gen of cards.
@@CombatMonkey11B No, light ray tracing workloads bring the performance to similar levels, when we get to medium to high workloads, the 4070 is faster.
There are probably some exceptions but there always are, 4070 is still faster in some non ray tracing titles.
Frame generation is not hit or miss, it gives a decent boost to performance, whether you class it as real or not is irrelevant, the games feels like it's real. There is a slight increase in latency but it's not that noticeable.
12GB is fine for now, more would be nice but right now it's fine
Maybe in 2 years things will change..
The Last of us being one of yhose memory thirsty games.... And it runs better on the 4070 despite less memory..
@@Ebilcake The tests I’ve seen from very thorough tech channels tends to put the 6950 XT pretty significantly ahead of the 4070 in raw performance, with some outliers favoring the 4070. On average though, the 6950 XT beats the 4070 in performance on average outside of Ray tracing. That’s why it’s along side the 4070 on my short list for a budget build for my 8yo daughter.

If I were looking to buy a 4070 there are honestly enough MSRP cards out there that I'd wait a bit for 'roundup' type reviews and see if any of the AIB OC'd cards actually offer anything meaningful over the base cards which is usually only the case if you want to overclock beyond what the manufacturer has which I'm not interested in. I know aesthetics is also a thing for a lot of people but I'm not going to see the card so I don't much care about that either. My next GPU upgrade is going to make me really sad EVGA no longer makes Nvidia GPU's, it seems most other vendors are at best hit or miss when it comes to warranty support, thankfully PNY are out there.

Prices are steep, in Brazil it costs approximately R$ 5000.00 or four minimum wages.

Honestly I don't see much of a reason to pick up this card, not that it is bad mind you, but more that it is priced way too high for the performance you get and the limited 12GB VRAM. You can get the vanilla RX 6800 which sure, is 10% slower, but has 16GB VRAM I've seen sell new for as low as $450 lately. And while not as power efficient as the 4070, does a solid job in the 225W range. The 4070 is really what normally would be a 4060ti (based on cut down small die and relative performance to prior gen) and should be priced as such. If it was priced at $450-500 like it should have been (adjusted for inflation prices as 3060ti launched at $399), it would have been a good deal. At $600+, that places it in near enthusiast pricing territory and it could be argued that at that price tier, it should be a 4k capable card for every game, but with that limited 12GB, it is not really acceptable except in old or graphically inept titles.
6800xt is a better buy. The 12gb vram will make these cards obsolete soon

I bought the RTX 4070 for 630 euro. The 4080 and 4090 are way too expensive.
RTX 4080 is 1300 euro and the 4090 2000 euro.

It's a good card.
But the pricing is down right daylight robbery.
The fact that it can't best the 6800 xt and 3080 at 4K is enough proof.
And nvidia is pushing adverts making it as if 4070 was made for 1440p. Even though its supposed to be for 4K.
If they force the idea that the 4070 is a 1440p gaming card.
Then that means the 3080 is as well lol which is not!
Ultimately it is a 4060 Ti renamed as a 4070 with a 3080 msrp (original 3080 price was about 600 before pandemic hit)
And the 4070 ti is the proper 4070.
Since history showed that New gen xx70 were always 20% faster than the last gen xx80 card.
But now nvidia is just getting bold and greedy.
The fact that the 4070 has on average the same performance as a rx 6800 non- OC is mind boggling.
You can also overclock and undervolt the rx 6800 to the point where you can gain 10%-15% performance increase which skews the comparison even more.
Whats the point of the 4070 ?
CUDA performance and creator type workloads. I agree the 6800 is the diamond in the rough. I picked up a second one at $320 recently even though I didn’t need it. I think it will appreciate over the next couple years.
amd is very bad with ray tracing and who does not use that for that level of a gpu so there is no comparison 4070 is better by far
A bit of advice. This isnt a 4K card, so dont display only 4K benchmarks. The best would be displaying 1440p benchmarks and 1080p.

Yeah while both consoles run at 4k and 3070-3080 were marketed as 4k cards, heres Jensens pupil to share the wisdom of backward progression and lets test the new cards at 720p because its just a 680$ card, buy 2000$ model to test it at 4k 🤣🤣🤣

The 4070 is a joke. Mostly since its price is what the "4070 TI" should be. the 4070 is so hilariously overpriced that its effectively dead on arrival.
It's called inflation, look around you. EVERYTHING is more expensive. The 30 series chips were made by Samsung unlike 40 series being made by TSMC, also more expensive.

4070 hits the sweet spot for me, same price as a 3070ti when factoring in inflation with lower consumption, features like dlss3 and a 25% raw performance increase.
