Stonic owner here, he's right really your money's worth, I was supposed to get a City base with a 100k difference I test drove them both, but, I'm surprisingly surprise with Kia's "power to surprise" haha I much enjoyed the ride quality of Stonic, given that Honda has always been in the pedestal, but for a 100k less and with the amount of smiling face when u drive it, that is something. it changes my perspective a "branding" mindset we all auto buyers have, I'm satisfied. I Intend to keep it for good to keep that self-promise that this will be the last brand new car I'll have hahaha. This VLOG actually answers my questions about power delivery. thanks man! more power to your reviews.

Getting my new kia stonic tomorrow. I chose the base model. I think it is worth the price. Imagine u are getting compact crossover with apple carplay and andrioid auto + alloy wheels for a price of 700k? wow! Why kia? Coming from Kia picanto. Not once pinahiya kame nito. 5yrsn namin gamit.
Seriously. Do more quality content like this, and this channel will blow up.

owned my stonic ex at since dec 2020 . im very impressed of irs easy handling..fuel econony..good in traffic..and has power when it needs to. great comfort ride and good stress reliever.It only lacks tire monitoring and cruise control but over all you get ur moneys worth. its a small car for a crossover but inside is great space and ride comfort...for those people whos always on the move ...this is your car.!

You are among the few car reviewers who actually respond to viewers. Currently I'm reading about vehicle recalls of Kia and Hyundai in Korea, the US, Canada, etc. How come Philippine automotive channels and websites do not report this?
I'm stating it here because of concerns for the safety of Hyundai and Kia vehicle owners and prospective buyers.
So far, we haven't been told of the need of the recall. But we will let you know when we do :)

As far as I am concerned, I do these reviews knowing that the one who counts on these videos are the ones making the next big investment.
When I do bring out a negative side of any vehicle though, I don't just mention it. I become critical about it, by either saying why it is what it is or by giving a recommendation.

Is the spare parts and aftermarket sales a concern?

How is the ride comfort? Let's say compared to a subcompact sedan like a Vios or City.

When you put the Kia Stonic versus the Toyota Vios, I'd say there are very similar.
Put the Kia Stonic versus the all-new Honda City though and the City will win!
But when the roads get rough, that's a different story

I'm really concerned about it being a bit sluggish in automatic mode. I'm used to driving a Mazda, and they're quick in both automatic and more so when you're in manual mode! Guess I need to test drive one to see whether its sluggishness is acceptable or not.
Yep at the end of the day, the best determinant if you should buy a car is to test it yourself :)
That seems about the same amount of trunk space in other hatchbacks. Certainly smaller than estates.
When you pit it against subcompact hatchbacks, it does have noticeably more space.

Hi Sir! Would like to ask between vios and stonic, which is more fuel efficient? Potential First time buyer here
I feel they are equally efficient.
In a first car perspective, the Vios feels slightly bigger inside and more trunk space while the Stonic is more versatile in cargo space.
The Vios is also a safer buy, but the Stonic definitely has a personality to it. Either way, you will be happy :D

Is it true that Kia will be stopping production of the Kia Stonic? I think I read it somewhere from CarGuide.
Not anytime soon, as far as I know.

Choosing between this Stonic EX AT and the Almera VE CVT, are there accelaration the same considering they almost have same hps? Also which has better NVH?
Their accelerations should be very similar. If I were to bet, I would say the Almera has a slightly faster acceleration. As far as I can remember, they also have similar NVH levels.

@@cmagazineph I agree! The CVT does feel 'different' for me in terms of driving. There's also this weird behavior sometimes that when I try to coast, the Almera feels like braking (even when im not) as if it was running a 'gear' lower. Overall great car for me though. The way it looks and just the overall cabin feeling is great (could use an armrest though! aftermarket ones are also hard to come by).
Hope you get to review a Nissan Almera VE CVT too one of these days. Love watching insights from your channel :)

In Automatic mode, the Kia Stonic behaves very frugally, so the response time to accelerate may not be as instant as most people are used to. If for example it takes a Toyota Vios to respond in 0.5 seconds, the Kia Stonic will respond in 0.75 seconds.
But when you put the Kia Stonic on Manual Mode, you will see that it has a very capable engine and is very responsive.
The Kia Stonic was engineered to really be as reasonably fuel efficient as possible, which makes it really good as a city car.

One gripe I have on my stonic is the head unit.
I have medium tints on the sides and the back window and l can't see well when backing up because the head unit maxes out the brightness of the screen for the backup camera blinding your vision from the glare which makes it hard to see through the side mirrors when in reverse and there's nothing you can do about it except maybe rolling down your windows which is not an option on heavy rains or just manually cover the screen with something..
Also the puny single reverse light doesn't help with visibility but overall l love my my car.

Tha's just water from the condensation from the cooling mechanisms of the Stonic. Totally normal when parked.
Would love to hear some fuel efficiency numbers. But good review overall :)
Thank you. During the test we did a lot of spirited drives so it didn't give us fair figures. But before the drive when I did 70% highway cruising and 30% city driving, I clocked in at 17.1 km/L. I'd say a safe bet for average drivers would be 13.3 km/L overall.

Is the Kia Stonic EX the better option against the Geely Coolray Comfort?
OOhhh that's a tough question to answer. But if I were to highlight their strengths over the other:
Geely Coolray: powerful, bigger, ride height
Kia Stonic: great trunk space, android auto + apple carplay, fuel efficient
So depending which strength you need more of, there is your answer :)

it depends on your status, if single or with family. If single, I’ll take the Coolray, but if I already have a family then I’ll still take the Coolray 😂. More power and bit bigger.

Between the 3, I would go for the Stonic for overall practicality. But if you don't need the SUV ride height or if you want something medyo sporty, check mo yung Honda City Hatchback.

i have one 48v mild hybrid.
about 5.4l per 100km's
760km's to a full tank 50l. it's ok but not as good as my sons kia ceed 1.5t non hybrid
I dunno... but this looks too small to be a crossover for me.
Crossovers isn't about the size, rather it is about the body style. When you combine the ride height of an SUV with a unibody chassis, you cross those 2 qualities to make a crossover.
Stonic is a small crossover. Because kia has a full size crossover seltos.
