- The 2021 Kia Stonic EX is the car that Hidilyn Diaz won. Kia Philippines gave it as a reward for winning an Olympic Gold medal. In this Filipino car review, I take the 2022 Kia Stonic EX out for a weekend drive to get to know the car better. The 2022 Kia Stonic EX is the cousin of the Hyundai Venue, although the Kia Stonic looks much better. It is also at the same segment as the Geely Coolray, the GAC GS3, and the Chery Tiggo 5x. The 2022 Kia Stonic drives at a leisurely pace, and does not have enough power to make it perform. If you want more power, better get the Kia Seltos or even the Kia Sportage. The Kia Stonic is also called the Kia KX1 in China.

I also admire the Coolray (like many car review viewers) and dream of owning one someday (lucky Coolray owners 😊👍). But it's very 'cool' of you Sir Reygan to say that the Coolray is not always 'the answer'. The Stonic can be 'the answer' to those who simply want a daily driver, not too flashy, just enough to bring you to daily destinations 😊👍
How's the maintenance and parts for Coolray? Is it hard to maintain and hard to get the parts?

My Coolray Comfort is 928K (after discounts), so that makes it just 3K more than the Stonic. And no Android Auto is something you can actually do something about (wink). There go the supposed "advantages" of the Stonic.
Yup, base coolray vs top of the line stonic. Now, looking at other variants, plus the savings for fuel consumption, it it would show that the Coolray really isn't always the answer. The Stonic's fuel economy numbers are almost double. People wouldn't want to buy a car if wala ka nmang pang gas. A GCR isn't for first time car owners, a stonic is. This should be a big "advantage".😅

It is not easy to praise the car which has (except for a exterior looks) very,very little to offer.I do understand your position when KIA lands you a car for a weekend and you need to give a decent review in return....but we all know that hard plastics,fabric seats,no armrest,small trunk etc.....not to mention average drive with non-responsive engine in combo with non-responsive transmission is way overpriced "925,000"!!!!! Who in the right mind will pick Stonic over fully loaded Chery 5x or MG ZS Alpha.
I agree with you on one thing: not everyone is like you and I ........enthusiasts for drive feel and performance oriented cars and majority of people would like to have comfortable ride with no hassle..... BUT why pay freaking"925,000" only for comfortable no hassle ride?????

Mediocre engine performance, NVH, glare, body roll, no center arm rest, lots of plastics.... Why not spend 15k more and get a base model Coolray?
