This reminds me, there’s this one question I always had about Android 18 why did Dr Gero keep her ability to reproduce? Because that seems like a pointless thing to keep on a teenagers turned killing cyborg that you kidnapped. I used to think the reason he kept this(and I know this would have been too dark for Dragon ball standards) was to turn any potential child she would have into a Android
Thats a really scary thought. But knowing Gero, who turned his own wife into an Android, I could see it! I think he wanted to keep them as human as possible and just added the programming and powerup. That could be a cool plot for a story, one where Gero survived and kidnaps Marron to turn into an Android?

@@hattoripool1533 I think it's weird but most likely possibly her body at least is highly possible.
I think it's because and I always assumed that he's like upgrading their skin and body and that rather than completely robotosizing them because Android 16 is kind of the full robot and he's different than the other Androids as well as they can grow more powerful so I assume they are like massively upgraded humans so he doesn't even need to think of removing that.

She would revive him only to murder him again, but by her own hands
Here's an idea for a what if:
What if Humans figured out how to make anti-ki weapons and equipment, around the aftermath of the Buu saga.
I'm talking bullets that pierce through Ki barriers, exo armor that absorbs ki and vents excess out, swords that can actually disable healing properties, etc.
It'd make normal Humans able to stand up against the gods in the way we've always done it: enginuity and guns.
Plus the concept of Frieza getting capped by some thug with a Glock 'cause Frieza said "monkey" a few too many times makes me chortle.
The humans still have to train because even early master roshi was able to catch bullets and was faster than the human eye can see. How are you going to shot someone that is faster than light? And Ki absorption armour is useless because they punch without Ki and the force of the punch would kill them.

Humans are still weak and waaaay slower then even master roshi. Even with a gun like an ultimate nullifier from marvel or a Z sword, you'd still have to perceive fast enough and react fast enough (impossible for a regular human) to even catch the god and that blow wouldn't even be fatal enough maybe as to just give them a wound but they would still take your head off. It wouldn't make a difference in other words
If this tech only extends to weapons and the occasional EXO armor then humanity would probably be an amusing thing to some of the higher level fighters, now if they had something that could destabilize Ki, keep it from being used outside the body and prevent it from being used inside the body to enhance the user then yeah anyone who didn't know about humanity being able to do this would be in for a very rude awakening
Jesus this is why Smugstick is the best story teller in the community- good ideas and excellent storytelling

I'd say he's on par with Masako X as i feel like smugstick takes alot of inspiration from the what if's Masako has already done.
@@robomarston8253 the problem with masako is that masako voice acting is kind of cringy, while smug voiceacting is quite good.

He would age like a Viltrumite if he was a android, and his potential would be insane. I can’t wait for this to get more parts. Frieza might be more interested in studying Goku over killing him. As blood thirsty of frieza is, he’s more interesting in what could benefit him, and his empire.
Do not get me wrong Frieza would still want to kill Goku if he ended up beating Frieza, but it’s more likely he will take the same approach as he did with Broly, and will try to control him over killing him. If he still try to kill Goku it would be in away that will keep his body intact so he can copy the android technology, and give himself the same perks, and maybe some of his henchmen.
I like how Gero has softened in this story and isn’t an absolute evil force anymore
This What if remake seems pretty interesting, I like how Gero has taken a somewhat father and son bound with Goku and how vomi is also included in the story!
2:22 I see that Smugstick used the tidbit from Team Four Star where Gero's son was one of the casualties suffered during the Red Ribbon Army destruction and his death was the reason why Gero created the Androids (and Cell) with the purpose of killing Goku.
I'm almost certain that this is Canon, team four star just produced a scene for 16.
It's canon. The new DBS Superhero movie also confirms this.
Gero's son was called Gebo, who died when Goku launched his one man crusade on the Red Ribbon Army. Vami(Android 21's actual name, yes she's canon now as well) probably died before all that happened. In grief, Gero created Android 16 in memory of his son.
No, he died of gunshot, not Goku's rampage. Gero made it clear he hates Goku for destroying the army, not his son.

3:50 Goku always going with the flow and I am surprised Gero didn't use the opportunity to psychologically torture him to madness or guilt trip him for murdering his son Gebo.
If there is a part 4 coming out soon... All I have to say is... he should be able to unlock SSJ with ease. knowing Vomi is actually the researcher in comparison to Gero.
I've always loved the concept. My only issue is that I feel like Goku is bound to get so OP that some arcs wont happen. Energy absorption or infinite energy are broken in early DB/DBZ. I'm excited to see what you do with it though. Keep up the great work!

I really enjoy this what if, because of Vomi/Android 21 is involved in this what if, i'm so glad that you're giving Vomi/Android 21 a lot of love and attention she deserves smugstick! i really enjoy Vomi/21's actual character so much since she's my #1 favorite female dragon ball character with 18 😊

Great video I want more, make him remember and slowly make Gero a little bit less evil but mostly the same, I also wish to see Goku studying under Kami and becoming earths protector / god along Kami creating a watcher + defender combo between the two and thus in some way carrying oe Dr. Gero's dream but in a peaceful not dominant way
In the Namek saga I wish he rescued as much saiyan tech as possible from Frieza's ship to give it to Bulma
For the android saga I wish Goku could save the Dr. and convinced both him, 16, 17, 18, and 19 to become good and to become part of capsule corp to improve earth's tech

I think that would be better if goku just landed in red ribbon as a baby, would make better sense, also i think Gero's Wife died way before Gebo because she was really young compared to Gero.
Honestly, I would've enjoyed it more had Goku been captured by the Red Ribbon Army before he could destroy it. But overall, it's not a bad what if ^^
Most what if's always seems to have the Red Ribbon Army already destroyed, leaving Doctor Gero and his androids to pick up the pieces. He's a DBZ favorite, so it doesn't come as much a surprise.
I like the story it’s a change from all the stuff that everyone’s doing on the hyperbolic time chamber but I’ve got cougars chart and just to nice change I have to admit

I like this. I imagine Goku would be an absolute powerhouse but he'd struggle to work with others due to cruel experimentation and much isolation.
He'd have incredible potential but instead of him basically using very draining forms and techniques, how about you use the Big Gete Star as a way for him to develop as an android? It'd be an interesting narrative, just saying.
The rise of the Red Ribbon Saiyan it's something about is admired as an interesting concept whether it's Goku becoming Android ,him willingly joining the Red Ribbon Army by meeting some members before Bulma, or members of the Army joining the Z Fighters/ Capsule Corp. One thing for sure the Red Ribbon Army has been a long time Earth enemy that's been at War with the some family for generations now ( first it was Goku versus the original human Army, then it was Gohan versus the Androids and Perfect Cell, and now Pan in both GT and the Superhero movie)

Huh? 🤔 So redoing this idea huh neat I don't remember the first one so it's good for me to watch this part. At first I was thinking Dr. Gero was going to change his way in this series, but as soon as you mentioned Gero erasing almost all of Goku's memory I went "Nevermind". Now I'm really hoping 21/Vomi can get Goku out of there. Anyways another really good start to this new series, and looking forward to the next part soon.
