    Glad you got it figured out, i had something like this too. They said it was a 2001 yz125, wouldn’t go past 3rd gear. Turns out it was an 03 w 5 gears as I opened up the cases, went thru the tranny. Someone added another gear, now I’m ripping it. Your channel taught me a lot and give me confidence in fixing something that isn’t running or running right, also ppl who follow you and give tips, I like to read your comments and add that to my bag. I saw you doing something in this video around 18 minutes in that I thought that you would have known. When you think the engine is flooded, you need to hold the throttle wide open with the choke off and crank it until it clears out the excess fuel. Don't keep operating the throttle off and on as you crank it.

    • @coloradodirtbike5930
      @coloradodirtbike5930 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He's been doing that habit of his for years now. Common sense to hold throttle full open when it's flooded, but I guess he doesn't know, and twisting the throttle every time just continues to flood it.

    What a crappy mistake. Such a small thing like a shift fork can really set you back. In 1993 the Cr's were white and atomic red with a weird blue and white Cr graphic on the shroud. Not bad looking bikes I remember seeing them in showrooms brand new. Yeah, I'm old lol. Good job Joe she's gonna be a ripper next vid.

    Good to hear you getting real about these builds and talking like someone who's been around it for years instead of sunshine and rainbows and the seller said it was great! Lol. As you said that thing is a clapped out piece of total shit that up until a few years ago with youtube making these things worth ridiculous money should have been tossed in a bonfire.

    Sounds like the shifting problems is from a broke shift fork behind the clutch basket and the jetting needs to be correct! Talk to Honda for a 1993 CR 125 manual.

    Holy cow, that’s a can of worms. That’s the first time I’ve seen a split case Honda disassembled. No wonder the repair bill was $1000 on my Rancher years ago.

    By looking at cylinder , that is not a 2000-2001 engine. It’s an earlier model, can tell by the power valve covers.

    I too make a living fixing other peoples screw ups. It’s my unfortunate specialty. I get it when nobody else wants anything more to do with it. Just once I would like to get into something that has no tool marks from anyone else.

    You really need to buy a punch and chisel set also some pry bars that is not what screw drivers and extensions are for 😂 but we all do it

    Your diagnosis is probably correct about the shifting problem.

    Great job finding/fixing the problem! Have run into that myself in years past where shift forks get installed backwards or out of sequence. Looking forward to the next video on this bike!
