    Too bad that flex looks horrendous as the product seems brilliant otherwise. Worrying in the long run as I've already experienced breaking a flimsy wheel with similar flex...
    Thanks for a very informative review! 👍🏻

      Totally agree, at the end is just a cheap to build plastic button box. I understand the motives from Simagic to place this product at this cost, but I think still is too expensive for it what really is. I liked the idea of the GT Neo wheel but for they loose the way on this product trying to kill the GTS who obviously is more expensive to fabricate than this plastic box.... I'm disappointed

    Great review LD i liked the shocked look on your face after ditching the instructions (because it pretty intuitive) and you looked at the shifters and thought maybe i need those instructions..lol i also like the fact that Simagic watch these reviews and they listen to your input to advance, so Thank you for making these videos so the companies make better products for us meer mortals to enjoy..

      Get a 320mm round for the hub, and a 350mm round without the hub (just QR) and with those 3 wheels, you can drive any car

    As always the best review available on YT! Thanks for made and share it! I wait (and ask to Simagic) for this since GTNeo launching. I like the idea, but as a Simagic ecosystem user I think is still too expensive. I know that compared to others brands is the cheaper alternative, but finally is a cheap plastic button box, heavier and more expensive than a GTS with the only benefit of the optional clutch levers and 2 thumb encoders, and weighting almost double than the aluminum core of the GTS... I understand why Simagic do this, but I don't gonna buy it until it costs less than 150.
    BTW, could be greeat if you can add the weight in numbers on the comparison with the others rounded models. I think that the complete package of the NeoX with paddles, QR and wheel is even heavier than the GT Pro... Thanks again for your video!

    For the Asetek qr. I think you can use the standard plate that comes with the simagic wheel and just use a short usb C to usb A cable. If that works it would be much cleaner! Since the usb plug is on the Asetek qr you don't have to worry about the cable getting caught up and ripped out so no need for the maglink. I don't have a Simagic wheel to test this theory but it might work. Great review as always!

    • @merik1991

      Good theory but won’t work,the usb c on the wheel is for manual sync with the base and wheel and hub updates,Maglink is to be able to control the wheel or hub using simhub,if you’re on a Simagic base using their software to control the lights and telemetry is done through the pins on the wheel side and base qr.

  • @harrymorris613

    Great review! Thanks for the comparison to other SM wheels. The flex does look really bad though. It sure looks like it is coming from the back of the hub though, perhaps the QR?

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      Definitely not the QR itself. It’s a space behind the rim. See, the threads sit slightly proud of the button plate and the gap causes this, coupled with a lot of leverage and cheap metal for the rim.

    • @harrymorris613

      Ah interesting I wonder if a thin 3d printer spacer would solve the first issue.

    I kinda like the idea that you can get the wheel without paddles assuming the wheel is a little cheaper without them. I drive a lot of rally, so I don't use paddles, but having the option to upgrade to them and save a few bucks up front has an appeal.

    Looks good , I like the modular options , the LED buttons look great and also the encoders and 7 way hats. The flex does concern me a little but Im not sure you would actually feel that while driving, however if the flex gets worse over time then only then is it a worry. I think also you might have had a focussing problem at some points in the video but that did not detract from the review or the information given here :)

  • @reviewforthetube6485

    I like it but I truely hope we see some incredibly priced high end simagic stuff this yesr also. All they have show us is budget and mid range stuff. Seens like the gt neo showed them they could resuxe and cut cost and still get a ton of sales. But I still believe that it wouldnt have worked for them unless thwy didnt already have the background of having simucube quality in build yet for less price. So if they abandon that really ruggid strong stuff it may not work iut the same way. But they will get all of the budget guys. Me i was so into simagic due to the high quality and just amazing materials used at less cost. Now they are ateering into that more cheaper feeling stuff. Still great dont get me wrong!
    Im still gonna get one to use on my ultimate and my invicta. For my one and onpy round wheel 😉
    I just want to see some aluminum wheels and some cf wheels again. The real high quality stuff. The more time we go on the more high end users we have gotten. Its insane to see how fast expensive items sell out now.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      Yes! But you’ll have big blank spaces/holes where the encoders are for the encoders.
      How come you have the rim and not the GT Pro hub (K) ?

    • @GiosSimCorner

      @LaurenceDusoswa when I first got my simagic stuff, I opted to get the C shaped wheel rim with the rotary encoders. Then, when the Neo came out, I purchased that. After a while I bought the simagic D rim that had the cut outs for the Simagic hub

    I wonder if the flex would be less if you installed the round centre plate instead of the triangular 3 bolt plate

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      Nope. I tried. I actually think maybe the threads for the bolts aren’t recessed far enough. This is probably so they don’t get pulled out of the plastic. It it also gives too much tolerance and a gap forms between the rim and the button plate

    Great review! Seriously considering this button plate and shifters for a future upgrade.
    Question: could you use the default rear plate and USB port, and mount a different QR on that and use the USB port and passthrough from the QR (f.e. the new VRS one) to a USB port near/on the wheelbase? (.f.e. with the new VRS wheelbase mount with slipring and UBS port near the base). I would like to prevent a coiled cable if possible (yeah, i know, it's not a real problem, but still).

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      Without soldering, no. Or maybe the right connection exists. Simagic told me it’s not something that they support but I’m sure it can be done if you know what you’re doing.

    • @simfellow

      @@LaurenceDusoswa because the default plate already has a usb-c port. If I could connect to that from the QR side (that needs to have usb-c) and the QR does the rest of the pass through.... Why wouldn't that work. The main question i had was mounting of the QR to the default plate.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      Yeah If you get the USB to work via the QR then there’s absolutely no need for the maglite adapter as far as I can see. I don’t know for sure though

    • @IvebenKruzen

      @@LaurenceDusoswa You defiantly can use the USB C port plate with a small USB A to USB C cable for the Asetek QR. The USB C plate is not recommended to use though with a coil type cable as it would put strain on the port but with the Asetek QR there's little to no chance of that.
