If you want to refer to ordinary people, you'd most often use "oameni simpli" which, ironically, if you translate it word for word in English, it also results in an insult. Moldovian and Romanian are wierd and complicated like that :,)

Really interesting documentary, thanks for that, enjoyed it more than I thought I would 😅
If Russian's "peacemakers" get out of Moldova people live will better and economics grows
Where is the logic? How peacemakers are connected with economy growth ?
@@superLarin independent country - stability - investments - new projects and manufactures - etc (less corruption)
@@georgetopal3914 Just like Greece and Albania. XD
@@georgetopal3914 стабильность вообще не связана с инвестициями. Так-то в России тоже стабильность.
Me as a Moldovian
Hm yes, this is very accurate
Bet there bishops are hiding big amounts of money ;P
He did not take the "big money" from you-Did he?
💀 looks like I’m gonna have to poison my neighbours then
Is the bishop speaking Russian? I was getting latin root words from the radio but then the bishop was using words i recognize from russian duolingo.
He is a kgb priest clan .
They keep switching between Romanian and Russian, so it’s possible that those latin root words you’ve heard were from the Romanian language
yes he was speaking it, by the way russian has TONS of latin words in it
@@georgenicolas2297 kgb, so... Soviet or Belarusian?
We need to get Reunited with Romania our True Mother country!!!
I really hope we will reunite soon :)
You can reunite by moving to Romania. I would rather stay independent.
@@superLarin ты меня не понял!!
ты gonna move to Russia ok!
Serge Shoemaker Lol. Why should I move to Russia if if I was born here and my parents were born here?
@@superLarin your subscriptions on TH-cam tell me more of you than your liar mouth
I’m sure you’ll feel better out there
Moldova is Romania! someday we will unite again.
Moldova was waaaay over due for changes as it has been suffering poverty for too long! I am Christian and NOT a feminist but I do want to say that Moldova's orthodox clergymen need to keep their noses in the church business and let Madam President handle the country's need for improvements!!
Why is no one talking about the disrespect former president shown to the reporters?
From the bottom of my heart I hope the best for moldova, from peru
What is the name of the piano song heard in the beginning
The Moldovan people are so welcoming and kind. It brought tears to my eyes to see how warmly they greeted the journalist despite their poverty and how people were singing and giving flowers to Maia Sandu after the election! They truly deserve a better future and protection from Russian interference and aggression. I hope to visit one day.
Love the video series! Keep it up!
I think people shud be open minded and accept an unmarried woman as president.... Since she is unmarried and does not have children, she will devote her life to the people of Moldova....
she did win actually and became the first female president of Moldova, but some people don’t want to be ik open minded like others
I wish Africa had this problem … husbands with several wives and many many kids, nobody can feed the kids … I live in Africa!

Make children ok. But children will need to leave and won't come back even to visit. Exccept for the disabled ones, of course, who can't emigrate anywhere and require constant care from their elderly parents. Cheers.
you didn't ask her why she isn't married and why she doesn't have kids, given the topic's importance, that question should have been allowed...
She has intelligence, he doesn’t which you can see by the fact he doesn’t even know English

Very interesting! Thank you for this coverage!
And she won ❤️
the guardian is making out Christianity is the problem in Moldova..wouldnt it to better to look at system there and corruption
The pro Russian politicians are using religion, therefore the report concentrates on that. Take a seat.
@@trildi Unfortunately...
@@trildi Thats only because the west makes religion as the problem in countries so russia strengthens its religion grasp. You take a seat bro

I did kayak from Holland to Moldova and two years ago I walked thousands of kilometres through Ukraine and Moldova. I hope the new president can bring change.
Very nice to see it's a bilingual country.
Moldavia was under the occupation of the Tsarist Empire (Russia) between 1812-1917 and under the occupation of the Soviet Union (Russia) between 1940-1991. 105 + 51 = 161 years of Russian occupation.
In neighboring countries the situation is very similar. It's easy to brush problems off as russian interference. The fact that western Europe is weathier than eastern Europe is knwn for ages.
The whole country (of Moldova) is 'created' by Russian interference.
It’s always Russian fault. All corrupt politicians in Ex Soviet Countries are paying money to Putin and all his friends. The EU is the holy savior everyone has been waiting for.
Maya Sandhu. I thought she was of Indian descent 😂
But she doesn't have an h in her name.
Sandu is a Romanian name so no it's not Indian lol
Sandu is a short name of Alexandru /Alexandra /Alesandru in Romanian language.
Like short name Sasha from Alexandr in russians speaking countries.
It's Maia Sandu, so no, she is moldovan for sure😭
She won!
my question is does the bishop have a family of his own? if not how can he preach about being the best leader only if you have a family so you know how to take care of people/nation ?
and congrats to Maia Sandu!
that’s what close minded people think, and because of the lies that Dodon started to spread people started to think that way
She will be out come next election if she doesn’t deliver results. She only won because she represents the youth values but not conservative values of the Country . I hope she does succeed but I believe her opposition will stop her & she won’t gain much support from international community because Moldova has nothing really to bring to the table. It’s an old USSR failed state.
