Laurie Blake doing a Bray Wyatt video essay. Before I clicked I was like "Better be Laurie" we're eating
We all preferred smack down reviews
exactly what i was about to say
We let him in
But he couldnt stay
Forever missed
The man named Bray
The fact this released a year to the day we lost Bray is something he’d probably smile at
Stephanie Wyndham Barry's brother lmao 😂 get it together guys
I can't Believe it's been 1 year of the passing of Bray Wyatt we love you Bray and we really miss you
I think Bray was ahead of his time. The amount of lore and character depth was something that struggled through the Vince era. Right place, wrong time.
The bloodline and the current Wyatt sicks are taking what Bray did and making it better. Bray would be proud.
I do want "the Six" to be a long-running and successful faction, but I will always feel sad that their arrival was delayed to a point in time when its godfather was gone.
@@nosickl Especially when they NEED to prove that they can thrive because, if they don't, there's gonna be a lot of people who will feel that the group is using Wyatt's name to push itself.
No they arent..they're a bray wyatt tribute act that looks dumb. I'm a bray wyatt fan but his stuff s*cks and so are the people involved suck as Nikki cross, dexter, rowan, and gacy.
The Wyatt Sicks are so much more than just an entertaining story. They're carrying the lantern Bray Wyatt lit, they're crafting a story that not only fans love, but Bray would be proud of. They're a tribute, an extension, and a reminder of the absolute genius of Windham Rotunda, with the deeply personal and heart shattering touch of having Taylor (Bo) carry on that legacy.
What a beautiful video, and that final line "We've had the hurt, and now it's time to heal" brought me to tears. Incredible job to all the wrestletalk & pfk folks that created this masterpiece.
i’m a simple man.
i see bray wyatt in a thumbnail, i tap the video, i watch it.
its simple
Yeah they keep making money off a stranger's death. It's simple
@@kidneystonermusic it’s been a year since he passed and i found it to be a touching homage.
the only way to keep his legacy alive is to speak his name and consume his art. his story is inspiring and they did a great job presenting his arc.
your performative contrarianism doesn’t work on me. youtube comments won’t pay your rent unless it’s your video.
it really doesn’t feel real that he’s gone but i love that we can all just gather and appreciate him and what he meant for wrestling it eases the pain knowing that he will never be forgotten
Bray Wyatt is the reason I got back into wrestling. I fell asleep watching something on Hulu and woke up in the middle of the night to Bray cutting a promo. I had no idea what I was watching but I was captivated. Then I realized this man was standing in a wrestling ring and I had to find out more. Digging into Bray lead me to black & gold NXT and the rest is history.
The character was amazing, and from all accounts the man Wyndham was just as incredible. RIP brother.
“I am the color red in a world full of black and white.”
Delighted to see Laurie back doing this after his previous videos on the subject.
*It's been a year since he passed away, we miss you Bray 😢.*
today was the day last year that i got my first job placement , and it was the same day Bray passed away . I kept thinking about him whole day through the multiple rounds of my interview and by night i got news that i was selected .
RIP Brother , RIP Bray.
Minute in and Laurie is a great narrator for these kinda vids get him on more please for all of us
Laurie got me choked up, ngl. Amazing video 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
We miss you Bray 💔🕊
Bray Wyatt was a Phenom just like the Undertaker - dark, intimidating, and mysterious. However, unlike the latter , the former kept getting squashed by the WWE system over and over again. Yet, Bray Wyatt was not a quitter - he always rose back on his feet, ready to reinvent himself through sheer will and creativity. Sadly, when things in the WWE were getting better for him, his life was suddenly cut short by health issues, just like his best friend Brody Lee. Although it seems luck was never there for Bray Wyatt, his fireflies always were and always will be. Rest in peace Bray, your legacy will never be forgotten.
Laurie is back!
I can’t believe a year has passed already 😔
It's been a pleasure as a wrestling fan to grow up with the Wyatt family and Bray. It was incredible see such a different act that kept so many fans entertained for many years. A shame we don't got to see Bray apart of this Wyatt sicks but great to see his legacy and impact on wrestling continue
i brought my gf to his return show at the smoothie king center in new orleans.
the city always loved him but it was different that night. him being back made so many of us fans again, and it felt good to express that in the moment. you could really tell he was feeling it and im so glad my city was able to do that for him
The explained episodes on PFK were so GOOD. Bring back explained with Laurie
Bray's career was always scuppered by fate. Illness, mental health struggles, firings, creative complications, and eventually death. What could have been.
I absolutely love Laurie’s essays whenever we’re blessed with them!
First and foremost, this is a phenomenal video. Bray is/was one of my favorites from this “new generation” of talent. He was one of the few people that even got my wife into wrestling. I haven’t had many “celebrity” deaths that affected me the way his did. I’m so excited to see how his story and his legacy lives on with his brother and the Wyatt Sicks faction. Thank you for this. I will always follow the buzzards.
Awesome video. Such a weird day for me. It's my birthday 8/24/86 and it's the 1 year anniversary of Brays trip to heaven.
There is only one small detail and it still sits in the back of my head, would we have or might still see the other uncle? Uncle Harper.
I think with the similar mask, maybe Bray was to be Uncle Harper?
@zjdarrah no there was a final incarnation of the fiend. They show it in his documentary but he was already planning the Wyatt Sicks before he died the plan seemed to be something like bringing the funhouse into the real world and having The Fiend and Uncle Howdy being the leaders.
@@zjdarrahhonestly we missed out on a epic tag team with the fiend and uncle howdy
Rest in peace Windham. We miss and love you man.
Its been a year since his passing and even now, we worship the man that made wrestling magical once more. I will forever be a firefly and I really hope they will book the Wyatt Sicks well
Got me sitting here, this morning, working on my Fire Pro World characters and tearing up all over again for Bray. This was a great video. 5*
Great to see you, Laurie - thank you for a wonderful video!
amazing job laurie and crew! this is something i will go back and listen to over and over. i still can’t over the fact that bray is no longer here. this is one on the toughest losses in the wrestling world for sure. props to bo and the rest of the wyatt sicks to keep brays legacy going
Another fantastic video essay, Laurie and co. Can’t believe it’s been a year since Bray’s passing. I’ll never tire of the study of Bray Wyatt. It’s endless and will never get old
I love the low key differences between each video essay based on the person who is starring in the video. The vibe of a Laurie video is very different than the Oli/Luke duo, and different from Pete making a video or Tempest doing one. Each has their own style and varying levels of humor and seriousness. I used to be mad you aren't doing Smackdown reviews on Saturday when smackdown was so hot, but honestly this is such a great series to have on a Saturday morning
This was amazing, Laurie. 36:40 gave me goosebumps. Long live Bray & the Wyatt Sicks.
Bray was the man who saved pro wrestling for me. I fell out of it in the early 2000's as a teenager and didn't get back into it until I saw an article on The Fiend in 2019. I went back and consumed everything Bray Wyatt in the new few weeks and slowly led to me discovering NXT.
This was beautifully done and I miss Windham greatly even a year after his passing.
One year later, he's still missed ♥️
To this day i still get chills thinking back to the impact Windhum had on me and so many others, being a wrestling, horror fan that got back into wrestling thanks to the Wyatt Family and its cult leader.
My father died due to a heart attack in his sleep caused me to realise how much his family must have suffered.
Thank you Windum, thank you for the wonderful moments and being an inspiration that has been taken from this world way too early.
You will never be forgotten
Thank you Laurie for narrating this. The Fiend series is a constant replay for me and I can't think of anyone more suited to tell these stories.
THANK YOU Laurie and everyone else involved in this, Bray instantly became my favorite wrestler for the complexity of his brilliance.
FOREVER IDOLIZED❤
FOREVER MISSED❤
FOREVER REMEMBERED❤
Wow. This video was absolutely excellent you guys.
Laurie was the perfect person to cover Bray’s career & legacy. He has such a deep understanding of the vision that Windham had & the lore behind his characters. There’s truly nobody else I would’ve wanted to hear break it all down like this.
The tears wouldn’t stop by the end of the video. A year later & it still doesn’t feel fathomable that he’s really gone.
Thank you for everything Windham Rotunda 🐇⭕️♥️
Its still just so goddamn hard to accept that he's gone man... Death makes me so sick to my stomach, especially with someone who wasn't supposed to go.. RIP Windham.. 🖤
Absolutely Brilliant! Well done Laurie! Thank you so much for doing this. 46 years old and I can definitively say that Bray Wyatt (and all his incarnations) is my wrestler of all time. No hesitation whatsoever.
"we've had the hurt, now it's time to heal"
damn
John Cena did some kinda shitty stuff behind the scenes to up and comer wrestlers, but I gotta say, incredible level of self-awareness and maturity to tear himself down like that in the Firefly Funhouse Match.
RIP Bray you absolute madman.
Hard to believe it’s been an entire year since Bray passed. I remember my heart breaking when I first saw the video on this very channel and it was the first time I’d genuinely cried in years because the world had lost such a bright soul. Quite fitting that the way you explained his career in such a beautiful way both hurts to remember he’s gone but has also helped heal knowing his legacy is being honoured and continued. If you ever see this comment, Thank you for taking the time to make this Laurie, it was lovely to relive the memories of my favourite creative character in wrestling history
5:32 can you imagine that match in 2024. The history with NXT & both being from well known wrestling families. Bray would have had a field day. Especially with the 4 horseman and Dusty?!
This was just a beautiful video as a whole, telling the story of Bray Wyatt and how his brother Bo Dallas is continuing his legacy in WWE after he passed away.
Imagine what we would have had if they didn't constantly kill his momentum. I really hope they've at least learned a lesson from Bray. Appreciate what you have.
Laurie Blake needs to do more of these because “this is awesome 👏 “
The Firefly Funhouse Match is my favourite Wrestlemania match of all time. Bray Wyatt was one of the greatest characters in wrestling history, and I miss him every day.
38:54 today I honestly can say Bo is exactly like he’s brother and I love it.
When people talked about how creatively genius Bray was, I never really got a good understanding of it. This video helped me tremendously get a better understanding . Really wished we could have gotten a book on the behind the sciences of Bray’s creative genius.
Laurie's story telling and narrative is beautiful to listen to.
This is a brilliant video to Bray's memory and career 😢 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
One thing about Bray Wyatt I will never forget is when they debuted on Raw and the crowed started chanting "Husky Harris" that's who he was to me also because most people didn''t watch NXT back then so we had no idea other than the video packages, but people didn't make the connection (I am just now learning that the Wyatt Family originated in NXT, I watched the WWE Documentary but I don't think it mentioned that). I can only imagine Windham was upset to still be recognized as a character he hated so much
This was seriously amazing Laurie thank you so much for making this ! It brought me to tears of happiness. I loved this whole story and you did such a good job telling it. Thank you Laurie
Laurie is the absolute best at these videos! Could listen to him for hours. 👏👏👏
This was an awesome video! I also loved the explanation videos
Bray Wyatt became one of my all time faves. Maybe a few notches behind Stone Cold. Since the NXT transformation, I watched with a keen eye only to watch his story and vision get mutilated by WWE time and time again. While I love this tribute video, it only serves as a reminder what we truly missed out on had he'd been given that creative control. Truly the definition of "Tortured Genius" What could have been accomplished if given the reigns? I love you Windham ✊🏾 RIP and much praise to Taylor for keeping your legacy alive under the new regime.
Beautifully told. I watched Bray since NXT and watched his whole story. I'm so thankful I get to join the Wyatt sicks for the next chapter
"We've had the hurt. Now, it's time to heal." That sounds like what Bo/Taylor is going through right now. RIP, Windham.
We love you so much and miss you so much Bray. You meant the world to people who never met you including me. I’ve never rooted for something to be successful and a grand legacy as much as I have with the Wyatt Sicks. Thank you for making this fantastic video Laurie
Only Laurie could do this subject justice, great work again 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Chills. Thank you so much Laurie and Wrestletalk team. Needed this.
These Laurie essays are the parts of WrestleTalk that I look forward to the most
I would listen to Laurie talk about anything but this was a real treat
Well, this had me sobbing by the end which I’m not surprised at to be honest.
So glad it was Laurie doing this video.
“We’ve had the hurt, now it’s time to heal” 💜
A wonderful introspective on his career. Appreciate all the extra content you guys put out.
It doesn't even feel like a full year has passed 😢
Superb work Laurie, this video id amazing.
Laurie's finest achievement in an already brilliant career. Thank you Laurie 👏 👏 👏👏👏
Crazy to realize Bray had a main roster run that lasted longer than people like Austin and The Rock.
Great job as always Laurie! I thought the Firefly Funhouse match with Cena was completely brilliant! Easily the best of the cinematic matches imo. Bray was one of my all time favorites, but Cena deserves a ton of credit for that as well. The almost Saw like reveal at the end of Cena's previous promo about WWEs most over hyped star, etc. was genius.
Man this was done very well! And knowing that is the one year anniversary of the Day Bray Wyatt joined the wonderful afterlife is very nice to had put this mini Doc out! Blake did a wonderful job presenting it he is pretty good at these I love em! Rest in Power my friend! I’ve been following the buzzards! Mercy me or my! I’m sure he is putting great performances for everyone that has entered the afterlife with all the light he had taken with him is soul is one of the warmest! We know this isn’t goodbye but a see ya’ bye like the end of all his funhouse segments !
Laurie Blake's opinion...we need more of this...thank you
The handling of Bray Wyatt was one of the many reasons I stopped enjoying WWE. I walked away from the product for long while and it will always break my heart that we will never get to see the authentic Bray Wyatt. I am grateful the character and ideas will live on, but it still hurts.
same for me... the decisions made during that infamous hell in a cell is ultimately what led to my son and I to just stop WWE altogether... While I know it got better since, we never really had time or interest to come back afterwards...
(We did watch the wyatt sicks intro off youtube however and cody win vs roman) ;)
@@FireHawkX I usually catch highlights. I actually still watch wrestling through AEW and NJPW. I have followed Cody almost his entire career. I just don't have the time to devote to everyone lol
That was really lovely. Considering you've covered all aspects of Bray Wyatt's career in all sort of formats, a couple of links would have been nice so everything is in one place.
Got so excited for this video… saw Laurie doing it… god it’s going to be a beautiful tearjerker. Here we go
3:27 Laurie should’ve tried that one more time. But besides that this is a great video.
This video made me cry. My birthday will always be his anniversary. Thank you for this video. Great job WrestleTalk team.
Fantastic piece. A beautiful tribute to an amazingly talented individual. Loved it! Thank you!!!
Definitely thought Uncle Howdy was a reference to Captain Howdy in the exircist, but now seeing those screenshots? Yeah, much more likely it's Hysterical. Uncle Howdy is basically that guy with a moustache.
Very well put together, and emotional! Bray will live on forever within the art he created and the memories and stories he's woven!
Still hits me so hard, he was such a talented wrestler and mind. R.I.P. Gone but not forgotten
What I like about this more than anything, is that you can watch this in 200 years (if humans are still around) and learn about one of the greatest minds of this industry. It's timeless. And it's a timeless tribute to a good man
Wow! What a beautiful episode. Thank you Laurie! ❤
Thank you Laurie, and all of wrestle talk
This was awesome I remember being at work and my coworker just asked me hey did u know bray Wyatt, yeah? Yeah he died, to him it was just a sad thing to tell, to me I found a corner and let the tears fall, as my annoying manager made fun of me for crying, gotta love 40 minutes of Laurie I can listen to you talk forever keep up the content! P.s. it sucks to know no one will ever make a video like this about me 😢 this was beautiful
El Fak....I mean Laurie's dissertations are always so good
Hell yes! The return of Laurie doing a video essay! LONG OVERDUE!
Welcome back Laurie!
That introduction alone gave me goosebumps! I cannot wait to finish watching this!
"He's basically Luke Owen"
Obvious joke, but I still LOL'd
Really glad we got Laurie back in for this spiritual successor to his Fiend Explained videos
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I would have loved to see Laurie Interview Bray....Hope Pete and Laurie get to interview Bo Dallas and The Rest Of The Sicks soon❤❤❤❤❤
Well done, this is so well done, this to me is the best video Wrestletalk has done, thank you.
Laurie, I really hope that you are aware of how impactful your video essays have been. Not only is the content captivating, but it makes us feel closer to figures we love and admire. It honors those who deserve it while being wonderfully entertaining at the same time. Thank you for the effort that you put in. It is not lost on us. ❤
Thank you so much for this, it must have been emotional to write and record, I very much appreciate all of the work that clearly went into this.
Firefly Funhouse is one of my favourite matches ever. I wish WWE would still do a cinematic match once in awhile, they were quite enjoyable.
Good grief, this was really really well put together. Fantastic work all around.👏👏👏👏
I know everybody cites the DeNiro Cape Fear, but you simply HAVE to pay tribute to the original with Robert Mitchum, as well as Mitchum's classic turn in Night of the Hunter.
I maintain that the night that Bryan broke free of the Wyatt Family was the night that cemented his career vector. The "YES!" chants as he sat atop that cage were staggering.
"Captain Howdy" was also the name of the demon in The Exorcist.
One of the greatest videos I’ve ever ever see wrestle talk do thank you for the fitting tribute to Wyndham
RIP Bray 😢 , miss you. You were a creative genius and a masterpiece
RIP Windham... your brother is doing some great work right now 🙏
Oh man! I live in Clermont, FL. I had no idea Bray had lived and passed away here. So very missed. 🙏🏻
