    Great video... which 32 bit recorder did you use?

      Thank you! I've been rocking the Zoom F3 for XLR mics lately, I quite like the Tentacle Sync System, and I'm crossing my fingers they make an 32-bit XLR recorder in the near future

    Love this review! It's really helpful. It seems like VM30 is a good choice for budget filmmaking.

    Can I record directly into the receiver?

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no internal storage on the receiver, it will just have audio out. Thanks for checking out the vid!

    Was the wired audio dropout that happened to you via XLR? and if not, how much of a difference will it make in terms of audio quality if I were to use an XLR and a recorder like the Zoom H4n pro with this mic

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@YosefRaffah I believe my dropout experience came in the form of the wireless transmisson, and not in the actual recording from the mic. So directly inputting the feed into a recorded through XLR should bypass that issue!

    Hi, how do you clean the white noise in post please ? Specially for environmental sounds recording ? Great video tho!

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! I opt for Davinci Resolve's voice isolation/dialogue leveler for nearly all of my audio clean up. Adobe Audition seems to have some pretty cool tricks up its sleeve as well!

    Im new to all of this, what DB setting volume level do you have on the Mic? Receiver and on the Camera?

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! There are a few factors at play when it comes to setting audio levels. Generally, I try to keep my camera volume level as low as possible (in-camera preamps tend to be of poor quality). To compensate, I will adjust the mic gain to bring my audio levels to around -12db (for dialogue)

    I get static noise when using the wireless mode? Any recommends to fix that?

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey! I appreciate you checking out the video, I wish I could be of more help here but I didn't experience this myself. My first thought has to do with the cable connections on either the transmitter or receiver side, so maybe audition different cables? I'm sorry that's been your experience thus far!

    • @LycanVisuals
      @LycanVisuals 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @TroyMairs i was able to fix it thank you. What's your typical audio workflow for a basic talking head interview? I'm new to this and using DaVinci resolve.

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ That’s great to hear! When I can, I try to have 2 sources of audio going for interviews. A boom mic rigged above the talent as well as a lab mic. I lean on the tentacle track e/sync e system to record and sync my audio files in post
