The Dells were fabulous so many great hits, thanks Harri, I wish You and your family and Loved ones a Happy New Years My Friend. Your the Best Harri no pun intended.
There are not currently, nor will there be again, a band like this one and so many other classic bands with true SOUL & original talent. Thanks very much, both of you, for this most excellent offering!🙏🙏🤲
The live version is from a US tv show named “Soul”. It was ground breaking. Recorded in 1969 in NY. If you liked this, and I know you did. You will love a similarly soulful song by the Ebonies, “Forever”. One fantastic lovers ballad!
They have so many great ballads, “Always Together” is another one you will like. They are one of the few groups that re recorded one of their own songs. “Oh What a Night”. First in 1956 and next in 1969. Also, the movie “The Five Heartbeats” was based on their career.
Thanks so very much for your fabulous reaction to my submission, Harri! It’s an old favorite of mine. I enjoyed your story about your uncles getting ready for their hot dates ❤ I’m thrilled that you liked it enough to listen to the entire song. I thought you might know the song already, but glad you didn’t. I did see the live performance, but I love the arrangement & production of the recorded version that I decided to go with it. The guy’s falsetto is really something! I wish you and your family a very happy New Year 🎉
@@HarriBestReactions I’m looking forward to seeing some of your best moves in 2025, Harri! And I thank you for a fantastic year of the best reactions on TH-cam 🎉✌🏼
That has to be some of the GREATEST singing from Marvin Jr., I don't think there has been any other to match a Marvin Jr.!!! That's it!!! The other falsetto voice is Johnnie Carter, whom died in 2009. It might've been more like 2014. I know Charles or Chuck Barksdale in 2015 & Marvin Jr. died in between Johnnie Carter & Chuck Barksdale!!! R.I.P. guys!!!
When ever I hear the name The Dells I immediately think of "Oh What A Night". A great Doo Wop song.
This song was good too.
They were hired to open for Ray Charles in 1966, only to be fired after receiving several standing ovations. Oh, myyyyyy. Wow.
The Dells were a powerhouse! Soul music at it's finest! Oh, if only we could turn back the hand of time. Such raw talent.
Not raw talent.. REFINED talent
Play the live version for your audience😊
Favorite song by the dells❤
Great choice Harri! Had this on a 45, and listened to it over and over.
Thanks for listening
We had the 45 as well
The mighty Dells
At all the red-light parties here in NYC in the 60's, the girls all used to request that this song be played only once a night, for "obvious reasons"!
@@byrontowles2018 😂😆
Marvin Junior & Johnny Carter were two of the greatest vocalists in R&B history. Johnny does the falsetto parts.
One of my favorites of all time. It never gets old.
@@324cmac One of my favorites, too!
How about how long that one guy held that note at the end!
Northern Soul out of Harvey Illinois. I love their song “Wear It On Our Face”
The LEGENDARY Iconic Mighty Mighty Dells 💖

Loved the music of the Dells, thanks for sharing Harri. God’s blessings for a great 2025
I love them, too!
If I didn't know this was from the middle 60's I'd think it was 50's Doo Wop. Perfect.
Miss those romantic songs!
I can't tell you how much I love The Dells and this song. I had it on a list.. hahaha Time to cut back a few songs. Thanks Ian and Harri.
Glad you enjoyed it
@@Cynthia... They really are an amazing vocal group. I’m sorry that you had to cross it off your list…I’ve had the same thing happen a few times, too!
