This group is in my top 5 favorites from the 70s. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! You must listen to these songs also: Been Such A Long Time, Dream Merchant, I Can Understand It, and Until It's Time for You To Go. Don't miss out on these soulful sounds🤗💃
The 70s was one of the greatest decades for all all kinds of music, and R&B was right there. New Birth was right there a little underrated, but boy they hit it with this song.
This just doesn't compare to the original sung by Donnie Gerard (Skylark). Beautiful song written by the young police officer (Dave Richardson) about his girlfriend who was a nurse. It's a great story about a date they had planned.
Yes!!!!!! The studio version is THE ONE. Live versions are fine but studio versions with all the production and perfection should be the first introduction to the song....then seek out a live version to see how it compares. You missed a lot of this song with the live version....not saying it's bad... studio version are the ones the artists are going all-out to make right.
OMG I haven’t heard this song in so long. I think that was about 11 years old when this came out and I still remember it and remember loving it

I loved all of these by them. Now I’m ready to hear them again

Jamie Foxx sampled this song in his song "Unpredictable" ft Ludacris
Live versions always reveals true artisry.
YRS YES YES!!!! Basement party classic right here. Thanks very much Shawn and Mel 😊😊
You said you will listen to it again later… PLEASE listen to the audio version! It’s a masterpiece like Prince’s song, Adore.
