Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.

I'm a simple person. I love listening to and watching small engines run. It's very satisfying to see and engine running after not starting for after a year and a half. I experienced a similar scenario after your videos helped me to get an 18-year-old gas trimmer going that had not started for three years.

Got a free Craftsman LT1000. It had been sitting outdoors for at least five years.
Both the rear tires were flat... Replaced the carburetor for $89, Rear tire tubes for $26 and the blades for $32 and later the mower deck belt for $16, air filter $14, oil change $4, cup holder $5. It runs great and has earned its keep already this summer.
You can't appreciate a lawn tractor until you've spent 30 years pushing a mower....

Excellent Video with step by step instructions. I found that the choke control lever was a little different that the original. There was a small plastic vertical knob that interfered with the air filter housing. I simply cut the little knob to make it like the original carb. Don't forget to attach the solenoid cable to to the bottom of the Carburetor. my 14.5 hp engine has never run better.

reat video, sat laptop on my workbench while replacing my carb. Great presentation and great explanations. the former carb was flooding out the engine. With new carb on it ran, but smoked like crazy. I figured the exhaust was full of oil and gas from the former flooding so went and cut grass for 40 minutes. It eventually cleared up mostly, but not all. I am wondering why it would now smoke and if it could be the valves? I had lockup on start and found a video on setting the valves and that solved the starting issue, but why would it now smoke?

Dony, once again an excellent video! very helpful! very easy to follow! clear steady video, no camera shake! the best on you tube! Danny would you be able to show us how to clean this carb, and maybe rebuild it? Cleaning would be great because I have to do mine very soon, and the engine and carb look almost exactly as this one. I followed your other video where the engine is in the vise. very good, but the carb is not exactly as this one. and I don't want to miss cleaning any hole or orifice. Thanks Dany And have you done a video on cleaning and tuning up a big brigs flow jet on a horizontal shaft engine like a 12 hp.? as I could use that video also soon! Thanks again.

Very useful, thanks Donyboy - the video is also a very good quality.
I came here to see how the governor cable and spring hooks up to the throttle butterfly lever. I am reinstalling my carb (after a strip, clean and paint of the entire tractor) and the throttle stays open all the way - just with more or less tension according to the plastic slider position that is controlled by the throttle cable. Is this right or should the governor close the throttle when the throttle cable is pushed to the idle position?

dony - Great video - just bought a Craftsmen 15.5 HP 42" Lawnmower Tractor. This thing has not been used in a couple of years I think. I am ignorant when it comes to this kind of stuff. Am now retired so am going to have to learn. Your video is very good with the exception of sometimes the attention to detail in camera work and instructions for us administrative types is lacking, but it is the best I have found yet on You Tube. Try to focus in on the links, springs, etc. Watch your fingers

Hi, I have a Huskee Supreme 25.0HP 50 in. deck from Tractor Supply, probably almost 8 years old. Almost put in the amount of money that was paid for it in repairs to the local small engine repair store. So, this year, I am determined to get this thing running myself. I am having trouble finding a video of the carburetor cleaning/repair of a similar model. I put in a new battery, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, oil change, new ethanol-free gas, even pulled out a mummified mouse. From what I have read online, I figured the carburetor is next. It still won't start, even when I sprayed ether in the intake...Don't know where to go from here. Thanks for your help/advice.

Thanks Eddie. I had thought of JBW but not with a coat hanger. I may try it if I can think of a way to support the hanger while it is drying. Maybe I could leave the carb on the engine (drying position would be horizontal) and set the hanger on a wood block laid at the bottom of the engine compartment. Another way might be to remove the carb and lay it on its side on my workbench and just hold the hanger in place for however many minutes it takes for the JBW to firm up enough to hold it.

was just wondering . i changed my carb as directed and one question came to mind. when you put the two tubes back into the fuel tank , how much of the return tube should be inserted into tank? My tank was 1/2 full but the return tube didn' t reach down into the fuel. does it supposed to reach all the way down like the other tube does? I did notice that the primer didn't work well so I filled the tank up to full and noticed the primer worked much better and everything was fine afterwards . thanks for any comment you have on this .
