I mean, we would if the space race continued after the moon, because the capitalism VS communism thing was all that kept the progress going. If it kept going at it's current place many of the predictions would be true. However USA and USSR stopped competing after the moon landing, and funding for both programs plummeted, leading to the space shuttle, and the eventual privatization of the martek.

We’ve only just began testing if rockets that could bring us to mars and that’s via private companies. I think if the 2 powers just worked together and fought against the clock to better themselves with huge economic earnings as a incentive then maybe who knows, but I hope we are living in the future for now
We would also have colonized mars by now and probably be an interstellar species if Christianity never caught on, therefor stopping the dark ages from happening and butting at least 1000 years in the future technologically.

As a human biologist and scientist, I can tell you that we are currently making unprecedented discoveries in life sciences (although they are not as spectacular as the predicitions from the 1950s Haha). Concerning cancer research, for example, just a few years ago a new revolutionary approached called "immunotherapy" has been developed. Here, we do not primarily treat cancer patients with radiation or administer toxic drugs (chemotherapy) but instead re-activate their immune system to kill cancer cells themselves (I made some videos about this approach). Although we are still very far from curing cancer (since it involves over 200 very different types), first results are astonishing! Feel free to ask me anything about that topic (or stem cells, since I am conducting research in this field)!

Amazonia is not the Earth's lungs, it is the Ocean. However, it is true that Amazionna is an incredible place for biodiversity and must be preserved. And adding that we do not necessarily want to see all those trees turn back into gas CO2, that's why we need to plant trees every where we can. Fire is part of the life of a forest, look how eucalyptus is basically regenerating itself with fire in Australia

Back in my childhood, I had a book of kids drawings sent in. These drawings basically shows what life be like on the world in the of year 2020. Trees and bunnies on the bright sunlight, People working on cleaning up the environment and tons of tons of recycling bins.
Let's us say as approaching to 2020, we will definitely need an extension on that deadline... maybe 1000 or 2000 more years.
