Hey Scott! Nice driving as usual. Since you own both the GT500 and the GT350, I was wondering what makes you refer to the 350 as your favorite as opposed to the gt500?
Ah, both are fantastic cars....but the GT350 has a few items that I prefer.....first it has a manual 6 speed, which is a bit slower gowing thru the gears but is more engagng as a driver. It is nearly 500 pounds lighter and you can feeel the difference on smaller road courses. The power/torque coming from the GT500 is soooo strong it wants to break loose everywhere, meaning you have got to pay so much attention to your throttle. There are 2 additional items that dont take away the fun on the track but should be considered.....the fuel burn is CRAZY on the GT500.....approx 3 miles to the gallon or 20 minutes of track time at Sebring or 18 minutes at Daytona and you are out of fuel.....and finally the tire wear.....between the power of breaking tires loose everywhere and the extra weight, a set of the Goodyear F1 RRR's are shot after 1 day, while the GT350 are good to 2 or maybe 3 track days (6 - 20 minute sessions).
@@scottsmotorsportsofpalmbeach wow! Never had a Mustang but love both. Coming from an old bolt on c5 z that fuel and consumable usage is just nuts! I can see why one might prefer the GT350 in that regard. Wow.
That's a nice clean run! What sways are you rocking? If you got a link, throw it up. I have the springs only right now, but man that seems to help alot as well.
Went with the BMR lowering/track springs from and then the sway bars from Steeda. Also went with the BC Forged wheels that were approx 25 lbs each.....along with a track alignment....it all helps! No engines mods at all, already has too much power 😀
@Scott S Motorsports of Palm Beach I agree on the power. It's fine where it is at. Those wheels make a bit of difference. The stockers are so heavy as hell. I'm running a track alignment, I can just tell you are able to get more speed just from the lighter wheels! What size are the Steeda aways?
@sleddogmotorsports this was on the Steeda receipt. Steeda Mustang 1.5" Front Sway Bar 2015-2. REAR Steeda Mustang Rear Sway Bar 2015-2018. Was not very descriptive, but can forward the entire invoice if you want it, let me know.
@@scottsmotorsportsofpalmbeachengine mods don't necessarily need to add power. You can upgrade the cooling system. Motor mounts, timing chain guides, oil pump gears etc
Brakes held up with no fade at all, the engine and tune are stock.....this car does not require any additional HP or Torque, in fact wish it had less in 2nd gear as it is nearly imposible to not spin the rears in that gear. I did change out the springs and sway bars to steady the car in acceleration and deceleration (more track focused vs street), which has really helped. Changed out the stock wheels with a set of BC Forged rims. Also, ran the car 2 days straight and had no over heating issues....and it was HOT at Sebring! The one complaint I do have is the fuel consumption....I can run approx 22/23 Minutes at Sebring and then am out of fuel!!!!! I think there is still room for improvement and look forward to going back!
@@scottsmotorsportsofpalmbeach awesome work. I also have a 2021 base model I started driving on track, and planning on upgrading the sway bars and springs to the CFTP and getting new wheels soon. Sounds like you went with beefier brake pads than the stocks, are you on DTC60? Does it make that much of a difference over stocks? I’ve done about 8 tracks days and still have lots of life left on the stock pads but curious to see if something else works better.
@@ycharlie5993 Glad you enjoyed it! So have a couple of thoughts, my buddy Larry bought the GT500 CFTP and he changed the springs and sway bars like I did.....if you are tracking the car you will want to do the same as the car will trun so much better. On brakes, I used the G LOC Pads, they had a bit more bite, but went back to the stock versions as they do such a great job braking. Let me know what you finally do.
@@scottsmotorsportsofpalmbeach thanks for the reply, I’m pretty happy with the stock pads so I will continue with them until something better shows up. I will definitely upgrade the springs and sway bars in the winter 👍, which ones did you end up going with? Initially I was thinking of upgrading to the CFTP springs and sway bars because they drop the car to half inch from the base and sway bars are a bit stronger. What kind of springs and sway bars did you end up going with if they’re not the CFTP upgrades?
@@ycharlie5993 So I used the BMR GT350 Lowering/Handling Springs and the Steeda sway bars. Larry used the Steeda Lowering/Handling springs and the Steeda sway bars. There are several things you will notice.....currently your car will rock backwards when you floor it.....this shifts the weight back and helps in a straight line drag race, but on the track the tighter suspenion really makes a difference. Hope this helps!

Thanks for posting. How did the brakes hold-up after numerous laps? Any heat soak issues? Stock tune?
