Agreed. I'm a huge F1 fan exploring other motorsports and other than watching the race live, the content such as highlights etc generally takes ages. (I understand that it's not the same like a 2 hr F1 race - but whilst I'm willing to stay and learn, I feel a lot of people will lose interest long term. Other things such as what you mention that F1 do really well: race analysis, tyre strategy analysis and all other sorts of videos would be so good and useful.) I'm personally very excited to keep watching and looking forward to an exciting season ahead!
@@xavier3211 well yes because a race that is hours long can only be a great ground for narrative and stories around all it all. Drivers training to race at top speed for hours, challenges coming with racing at night, or at night in the rain, box strategies, wear and tear of mechanical components analysis. Would love a mechanic analysis dismantled parts showing how the race put strain on those. I would have so many ideas if I was one of the WEC content creator !

Since so many years already f1 is only a drama, which I dropped decades ago. WEC and 24hours of LeMans always have been more excited and production focus than f1.
@@armorgeddon BoP works because it maintains competitiveness, and stops situations like we have in Formula 1 where the championship has already been decided 2 races in. And it's not like Formula 1 is the pinnacle of technology either because they still have very restrictive rules to follow. But by all means, if you enjoy watching Red Bull win every single race with no one coming close, keep watching Formula 1.
If I may offer some feedback: I would like to see a bit of indication how far into the race we are. or just any kind of transition between the highlights really. Take 8:00 for example It's a bit difficult to follow if everything is cut together seamlessly Add a short transition, a bit maybe 10-15 seconds before the actual incident to give a bit of context and afterwards replays. really helps the viewing experience from my point of view. Not great to see the #50 and #6 fighting for P5 and get a hard cut to a crashed #51 although there are 2 full hours between the two situation.
@@G0UDIE absolutelx not what I was referring to. I'm more than familiar how a clock or lap counter works. But I wouldn't blame anyone watching this to believe the 51 crashed while 50 and 6 were in a battle. I had the issue multiple times in the video and I watched the entire race. If you want to look at the top left corner every time the camera cuts (regardless of same situation or the next) you do you IMSA for example shows their logo, followed by "hour 6" makes it a lot easier to follow and at least in my oppinion improves the quality of the video.
Great to see Cadillac finishing on the same lap as Ferrari. This isn't a two car race, if the rest of the field catches up to Toyota a bit then we'll be in for a competitive season.
Looks a lot like it but, don't underestimate Peugeot there. Ground effect aerodynamics and the Circuit de la Sarthe go hand in hand; that and they're a French manufacturer and it's the centenary anniversaire.

I've been put of the full WEC series for a while, but.... now that "all" the manufacturer are back! I'm fully on board again! Love the content, but it's a little frantic between the series I would watch a review on all racing categories one by one for more background info since I haven't been up to speed and reading about it doest way as much as info combined with these beautiful shots

In 2014, Toyota won 5 out of 8 races against Porsche and Audi. They missed the Le Mans win but dominated the championship. Will 2023 be like the 2014 season…?
I have been watching racing for a long time and I am so hyped for this season and the future of endurance racing at this the top level of motorsport. The FIA WEC must retain Sebring on its racing calendar it is so important to the history of endurance sportscar racing and American fans show up in droves. I really would like to see FIA WEC at COTA but, also Watkins Glen and Road America are all time American classic racing circuits. Please FIA WEC make it two rounds in the USA, your choice!
I agree with you. USA has really great tracks. Also USA is big and one more race in a different area would be great (I'm from Europe, so I'm not saying it just because it would benefit my country)
They've been racing since 2016, right? Ferrari has had one race at a track that they have no experience on and is extremely bumpy. As the announcer said, as they get to Europe, it will be more familiar for them. Not that I think Toyota will struggle, but others will raise their game and we will have good battles because of it.

People have been acting like Toyota have been winning purely because of bad BoP between hybrid and non-hybrid (which did and does exist, of course), but that doesn't change the fact that Toyota is operationally flawless and has a decade of experience at the top level that only Cadillac via their IMSA DPi program comes close to. As Sebring showed, as close on pace as Ferrari might've been it didn't matter because they made mistakes and Toyota didn't.

I think that, if you give them the time, they will be competitive again. Also, they're kinda more focused on Le Mans.
The problem with this format is that the constant editing cuts off the commentators dialogue. We end up with a series of unconnected thoughts, and I find that disconnection very frustrating.........but the actual film content is really great!
Looking forward to the rest of the season. Looks like Corvette Racing has a good crew with Ben Keating. Following day at IMSA's 12hrs Sebring Ben Keating raced a LMP2 car and witness the mayhem. The last 20mins of the race 4 GTP cars in mere seconds were wrecked and caused a chain reaction that spun out the GTD Pro Ferrari and Corvette and some GTD cars.
I love that you guys continue to upload races, but could you keep the results out of the title? Got spoiled on the ending while I was randomly scrolling through TH-cam.
Man lmp 2 and 3 desperately need a refresh that adds some more manufacturers and variety. They've essentially become one make series. Kinda seems like thats the main thing holding back this series now. Variety is what spices up gt and prototype racing so much. I get it, oreca is the dominant chasis, but maybe a new rule set or regulations can make other chasis competitive again, or bring in some new privateer teams. It just sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the gtd and hypercars that are all different, each with unique strengths and weaknesses.
I don't necessarily agree, spec series are interesting as well, like F2 and F3. It's great to know sometimes the better team and drivers win, not the best engineers.
LMP3 don't run in the WEC. And Ligier/Duqueine have a more even split in that. So they're absolutely not one make. Know what you're talking about before you comment rubbish.
I really wished you'd do some technical analysis on this channel too, with all the different categories and unique prototypes you'll have enough content there.

Ferrari was faster all race. Toyota just used their experience to not take any risks and win it.
Sebring is a very unique track and Toyota has an experience edge over most of the teams. I expect things to tighten up at the future races.

I get it, oreca is the dominant chasis, but maybe a new rule set or regulations can make other chasis competitive again, or bring in some new privateer teams. It just sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the gtd and hypercars that are all different, each with unique strengths and weaknesses.
I don't necessarily agree, spec series are interesting as well, like F2 and F3. It's great to know sometimes the better team and drivers win, not the best engineers.
There are new LMP2 rules coming in about 2025.
LMP3 don't run in the WEC. And Ligier/Duqueine have a more even split in that. So they're absolutely not one make. Know what you're talking about before you comment rubbish.
It's to have more cars in the grid. They a really Cheap cars to run in WEC terms.
