That’s why it got pushed to be released here in June. It was supposed to come out back in December of 2023 but Disney made “New Regency” drop it because quote “it won’t make enough money”. Total bullshit line, it wasn’t woke so they rejected it. You can look it up, articles came out explaining it back around Christmas time. If Harley-Davidson makes it, it's a Harley-Davidson ! I have a Harley, Indian, Honda, and a Victory. The one thing I loved about it is that they kept the dialogue to a minimum. When the guys spoke it was precise and to the point. This brought their characters across better. Adding the Funny Sonny character was brilliant and having that particular actor (no names for those who haven't seen it yet) play him was genius.
As for the whole Hollywood merch fake patch debate, my Dad is fond of saying "Whether you're dead right or dead wrong doesn't matter; dead is dead". You do you but before you wear that stuff out in the wild remember you're not hiding behind a keyboard anymore, sh1t can get really real, really fast out in the world.
Saw it this morning. It's a great, character-driven, film. I was pleasantly surprised by that. I was afraid it was going to go down the stereotypical path that movies about bikers usually do.
I took the wife to go see it last night, surprisingly real. I was born at the tail end of the timeframe the movie covers and my father's generation is the guys in the movie. The vibe of the guys hanging out was pretty spot on all the way down to their lingo. Very much reminded me of get togethers when I was very young, minus some of the darker stuff, they kept that away from the kids back in the day for the most part. Best part was no political bs being it's based off a book about a real club. Was a trip too seeing Chicago as the territory, didn't expect home to be the setting. Definitely worth watching.
My girlfriend and I saw last night. We liked it. I've had the book for a long time that the movie is based on. The real Benny, Johnny, Cal, Cockroach, Funny Sonny, Kathy, they're all in the photos in the book. The real patch that they're wearing in the book is "Outlaws".

i liked the Movie, but enough to see it again.......Nope, seemed like it was from the girlfriends/wifes point of View, and i honestly don't know the history of the Outlaws as much as i do the Bandidos and Hells Angels and more likely because i only lived in Outlaw Territory briefly in 2008, but spent my life in the area's of the other 2 and was an SA/VP/P of a Support Club for one of them, But my View of Clubs Differs from yours, i always want to be a club member, but because i was an SP/MA in the Navy no full 1% club would accept me because i was once law enforcement when i was a kid 17-22 so the best i could do was Support Club, and from the time i was 14 till just a few years ago i was in clubs from AMA to Approved RC to Support MC, back to a Support RC then a 99% club and now retired from clubs, i'm in a Local HOG Chapter. Sadly your club experiences and mine were way different, to me all the talk of Brotherhood and respect was BS it was Drama and Back Biting and trying to Climb over your so called brother to take his position or to step up to the parent club, i was in one club an international 99% (not the one you might think) and we went to a get together and my chapters president was all Bro this and Bro that and hugs and talking brotherhood and a month later he stole dues of members in our chapter to national and started his own club and me and 1 other stayed loyal and in the original club the rest of the chapter followed the P to the new club, and for a few years me and the other guy that stayed were the only ones in the region. so my view of clubs isn't so Rosey lol
saw it last friday, biker here liked it but not as much as i was expecting ey regarding bike shows my fav was Mayans :P also as a non smoker OMG THE AMOUNT OF SMOKING IN THIS MOVIE HAHA
ALSO NOT A SINGLE HELMET JEEZ I get it it's a movie but still that guy's death would have probably been avoided if he wore a helmet when he smashed in that car window Ey I had a crash couple weeks ago,got into a van, helmet and jacket did theire job,i'm fine Need to replace handlebars and break lever this week
havent seen it, but from Monkeys remarks about not talking about bikes in the movie, i realize the title is the bikeRiders, but associations and/or clubs i rode with, we were MC, motorcycle clubs...love and respect for the "ride" was a main topic of conversation
If your gonna go beat the crap out of someone for something there wearing or just cause they feel like it….thats pretty messed up …can’t wait to see the movie
We all got something that would put us over the edge. Sometimes it’s something stupid 😂 aren’t we lucky there wasn’t any online stuff when we were kids
Can't wait to see the bikes, hope they have some english bikes in it. I have the book and just reread it. How close or far does the movie follow the book?
Caught the movie this weekend. I thought it was very good. Jodie Comer was great. Tom Hardy was solid as always. He's definitely one of the better actors out there (if you haven't seen him in "The Drop" I highly recommend checking it out). But overall I really liked it. The actual photos of the real MC and the woman who was interviewed were a nice touch and gave the movie even more credibility.
That PSA you had in there perfectly encapsulates why club culture is overhyped, self-important trash. Some dude I don't know has a bad day, decides to pick a fight with me, and I'm supposed to be understanding of his precious feelings? I don't wear any movie paraphernalia as it isn't my style. How entitled does someone have to be for such a thought process to register in their brains? "I don't like thing. Must punch". It's similar to my feelings on organized religion. Your book is there to dictate the actions of your members. Don't demand that a non-member follow your book.
But wouldn’t it be similar to instances of stolen valor? If you wear something too similar to the real thing or you’re trying to pass it off as a real thing, you or 5 other guys might not know or care but there’s always one guy who for whatever reason believes in this thing strongly that he’s willing to come to blows over it. Why put yourself in that situation? Just a thought 🙃
I have yet to see multiple videos of veterans threatening to hurt people over a uniform. I've seen people be embarrassed, yelled at, or even jailed if severe enough. However, it seems every video about 'motorcycle club business' involves the threat of violence for not toeing their arbitrary, regional line of 'respect'. Believe it as you will. Would it be so distasteful for clubs to not assault people over their clothing? I can understand a direct copy of colors, as that devalues them. But something from a TV show that everyone knows is from a show? Or the gear that some bands put out? Where does it end? I wear gloves, banana's, chaps, and a helmet. Is that cause to receive a beat down because club members also wear those things and they might take it as a parody?
@@HumbleGaijin We know why there aren’t any vids of military personnel engaging in acts of battery and those you mention still go too far for some people. So there’s always something. I do feel that looking at the history of how many of these biker groups came together and the culture in general, it’s easy to see how they would be sensitive about instances of imitation and even parody. I think we can agree that: 1) the line of acceptable behavior and appropriate correction for perceived wrongs varies greatly between groups and individuals 2) Random acts of violence are absurd in any context. 3) these types of behaviors aren’t limited to bikers, we see it in many diff contexts. I can tell you I see these same types of behaviors in many of the kids I work with. They have experienced something in their lives that leads them to form almost a trauma bond with others or a cause in their lives. They become hyper protective of their group/image etc and develop a hair-trigger temper at the hint of any perceived disrespect/duplication or mockery. Do I agree with it, of course not, but it sheds some light on why they’re so easily set off. And while I really feel these issues are usually addressed in some other way before physical violence sets in, I’m also not about to test people’s boundaries in that way. So why not just avoid the issue from the start, leave the 3 piece patches for the clubs, and avoid the chance of running into the wrong person who has no problem coming to blows over what we might feel Is something so trivial. Appreciate the comments and if you make your way to Sturgis, this is a good chat to have over a few beers and a campfire. Stay safe 👍
We can agree on those points. My largest point of contention with the subject is the arrogance to expect non members adherence to club rules. Trauma explains it, yes, but it doesn't excuse it. I will be in Sturgis this year; camping at the Chip. I would enjoy a proper conversation, if an opportunity arises. Stay safe!
It's called American MC. it is on Tubi. May be other places, but that's where I finally saw it. It happened back in 2017, but I just recently heard of it. Yeah, it's.... Interesting...
If Fonzie had a vest, top rocker said HAPPY, bottom rocker DAYS would he be ok? Or top rocker GILLIGANS bottom rocker ISLAND, all tv shows no real threat to your TURF LOL
Thanks for your take on this, I was going to dodge it but if you say it’s worth the money I’ll give it a try! Just my opinion but I can’t see what being in the company of those who see me as a lesser species only useful to pay into the bar or run around as a support club would bring me? I’d totally respect that they lived their own life but I’d never feel l could trust them in the final analysis. Kind of like being around crocs or lions. Anyway, keep on keeping on!
As an SOA and Mayans fan, this movie came up short for me. I went yesterday and was deeply disappointed. Felt more like a Chick-flick than a MC movie. They couldve done the whole movie in 45-60 minutes and also include when the new leader took over and evolved into a new club. If youre an SOA or Mayan fan, dont have high hopes for this movie.
You are correct if you want a Panhead this movie is gonna make it skyrocket just like that three episode Harley Davidson show years ago made 36 knucklehead go through the roof when they brought that show out and now here it’s gonna happen with the Panhead now no one‘s gonna be able to buy one because they’re gonna want 14 to 15,000 for the damn motor. This shit is pathetic and I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was 16 when I got my license in high school, still two shovels a new eight and an old-school sporty chopper with a 21 over front
The only merch I want from the movie is a black T-Shirt with the quote " It's nice to meet some proper fuck ups." 😁

I saw it Saturday night. Only big ass body builder, 6’ Leather clad biker in the theater 😂. I liked it. Good acting.
Looking forward to seeing it. I like how you say that you can be right, but still get bloody. Just don’t do it people, it’s common sense 😂
Now have to see it😊. Thanks Monkey for the review and yes you are unaffiliated.
Hoping to go tonight.
saw it last friday,biker here
liked it but not as much as i was expecting
ey regarding bike shows my fav was Mayans :P
also as a non smoker OMG THE AMOUNT OF SMOKING IN THIS MOVIE HAHA
ALSO NOT A SINGLE HELMET JEEZ
I get it it's a movie but still
that guy's death would have probably been avoided if he wore a helmet when he smashed in that car window
Ey I had a crash couple weeks ago,got into a van, helmet and jacket did theire job,i'm fine
Need to replace handlebars and break lever this week
Going to see it in a couple weeks
havent seen it, but from Monkeys remarks about not talking about bikes in the movie, i realize the title is the bikeRiders, but associations and/or clubs i rode with, we were MC, motorcycle clubs...love and respect for the "ride" was a main topic of conversation
If your gonna go beat the crap out of someone for something there wearing or just cause they feel like it….thats pretty messed up …can’t wait to see the movie
That’s an unfortunate reality sometimes. It’s not me, you understand.
We all got something that would put us over the edge. Sometimes it’s something stupid 😂 aren’t we lucky there wasn’t any online stuff when we were kids
@@ProfessionalMonkey oh yea no not you I’m just saying in general lol
We live in a dangerous society. Not all who have violent tendencies wear identification.
Thanks for the review
Ok new challenge go see the movie and count how many times the bikes are named or mentioned.😂
Can't wait to see the bikes, hope they have some english bikes in it. I have the book and just reread it. How close or far does the movie follow the book?
There are some BSAs etc in there
Great review and info. I really liked the movie and im from the town where the Lakeside is. And the Jolly's Drive in is one town south.
Saw the movie last night it was a good movie I give It a 7 out of 10.
More bikes would have made it better.
Thinking about checking out the movie tonight. Hopefully its as good as it appeared
Seen it Saturday night and was a amazing movie inspired by a actual Midwest club
Totally agree
If I add the movie memorabilia stuff to my Sons of Anarchy vest, am I good? Sold me on going to see it, hope you guys are well.
Then you’re juuuuuuust right…
Hell yeah can’t wait to see it
So I guess we all will have a NEW favorite motorcycle movie now? Stone Cold and Pee Wees Big Adventure got bumped.😂
Stone cold is awesome!!!!
I got myself a 42 knuckle EL chopper 👍 Unfortunately made a stock HD into the chopper ..Many ..many..many ..years ago 🙁😊
Oh no!
great video, have a safe work trip see ya when ya get back
Thanks! Will do!
Is there any music score like intense music cause no one is talking about the score so is there anything intense music?
The soundtrack is actual music from the period. Big songs you would know.
@@ProfessionalMonkey ohhhh ok so like fight scenes just have old songs playing?
me and misses watched it on the weekend best film ive seen in a while, really enjoyed it.
I loved it most people that didn't like it expected a action packed S.O.A style movie or don't understand the culture
That's because most of these guys are bullies in real life. It's why they gravitate to this kind of lifestyle.

We know why there aren’t any vids of military personnel engaging in acts of battery and those you mention still go too far for some people.
Stay safe!
On that note. Not sure if you've ever covered it. What are your thoughts on that Discovery show, the guys trying to start an MC?
I've never seen it, but I will look!
It's called American MC. it is on Tubi. May be other places, but that's where I finally saw it. It happened back in 2017, but I just recently heard of it. Yeah, it's.... Interesting...
The way Harley is leaning into this for marketing they might sell Vandals jackets at the dealerships 😂😂
If Fonzie had a vest, top rocker said HAPPY, bottom rocker DAYS would he be ok?
Or top rocker GILLIGANS bottom rocker ISLAND, all tv shows no real threat to your TURF LOL
I thought the acting was excellent, the story was good, the directing was imperfect.
I’d give it 6.5 outta 10
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie but I agree that there will be tons of people who will Tru and dress and act like "the Vandals.".
If youre an SOA or Mayan fan, dont have high hopes for this movie.
ohh and i never realized that if true Taco Bowman Shot the original P
I texted my girlfriend, "I done challenge you" meaning to request an online match of GO, and she replied, "🔪 or 👊🏻".
Good words about the patches 👍
You are correct if you want a Panhead this movie is gonna make it skyrocket just like that three episode Harley Davidson show years ago made 36 knucklehead go through the roof when they brought that show out and now here it’s gonna happen with the Panhead now no one‘s gonna be able to buy one because they’re gonna want 14 to 15,000 for the damn motor. This shit is pathetic and I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was 16 when I got my license in high school, still two shovels a new eight and an old-school sporty chopper with a 21 over front
Land of the free. But don't wear this 😂😂😂
They even talk about that in the movies, we’re all about freedom… and rules… 😂😂
