🍊Paint with me on a summer day in Paris...This is my favorite thing to do in the summer in France: pack a French picnic (you'll see baguette and lot's of cheese ;) , lose track of time, create something. I wanted to share this little summer routine I have because when Im making art and getting lost in the art process, it's where I feel most bliss. It is a very calm day--maybe not the most crazy day in my life, but I know a lot of you are artists and I thought it would be sweet to share and paint something together (or just watch me paint and eat French food if you prefer! :). I feel like my vlogs have always been this sort of balancing act between French culture and trying to share my soul and art with you, so I'm happy to get to do both in this one :) It's so nice to take a day and just sketch or draw, do something creative in nature...I hope this video (especially the moment of introspection at the end) will inspire you to do create. Like I've said, I've been at a cross roads lately about what next chapter to take. Do I stay in art school? do I change my life in a different way? Should I start a big project or write a book? So for me, painting is like meditating, and when I spend time in this safe space, I feel like I can hear the answers somehow...
Also if you were wondering, I use acrylic paints (I don't think I mentioned It in this video). I also use oil pastels and watercolor if I feel like. Painting isn't my strongest medium (I would say sculpture and video are) but I love doing it anyway, not paying attention to whether the final product is 'aesthetic' or not, and working through the different phases. For my perfect picnic I would bring with me a book that I am reading rn, my sketchbook and some paints, a camera, some snacks and fruits, my 🎧 to listen on music , a sunscreen ,a blanket, and a bottled beverage😊
I would bring a port-a-potty 😉

Hi! This is the first video of yours I have ever seen and I was looking up paint videos to calm me down and focus on details that don’t give in to the need to overthink my emotions or feelings. I can rarely watch TH-cam these days but this video spoke to me. You said to comment if your talk resonated with anybody and it absolutely had made me realize that the universe is listening. As I was first watching your video I was daydreaming and practicing breathing exercises and I just started crying for no reason. I paused, collected my thoughts and gave my full attention to how serendipitous your picnic was and the freedom it granted you. I finally began to calm down for the first time all day and at that point you began you break where you took a moment to breathe and compare life to a painting. You also said nothing it coincidental, something I’ve debated with myself for months on end, looking at unclear signs but not always trusting them. But listening to you talk truly invoked my spiritual awakening. I am listening to the universe as she is to me. I don’t know if you still wanted someone who could talk to you through the cold and one sided internet but this was an amazing experience, even though it only lasted 15 minutes. I JUST got home from a road trip with my family and I plopped into bed exhausted and for some reason, on edge. I decided to watch this in hopes it would help clear my head and I'm so glad I did. The little segment where you talked about nothing being a coincidence felt like it re-centered me and reminded to take things one at a time. I'm also starting to look back on my trip and remind myself of how wonderful it was. I am now dying to go to the park by myself and journal, read, and paint :)

Honestly this video was super spiritual and wholesome because the moment I gave myself the massive hug, I couldn't go, especially during your poetic monologue I started shredding tears. You were right! I needed to hear this. I have been at home for the last two months due to my current stay at home work to pay them bills, but being an artistic creator, it strains my creativity working full time and not beng able to go out. But because of your diploma vlog, it inspired me to create my own world in my bedroom and to start making a list on every aspect of creativity on what I wanted to do in the little span of time everyday, because every little thing counts. This was so nice and got me in the mood for the daily drawing challenge I just started yesterday. What I liked most was the idea of a brush stroke not being right or wrong... but simply a brush stroke. This idea stuck with me through my 5 minute drawing and I was able to create something that I truly enjoyed the process of from start to finish. The cherry on top? I actually really love how it turned out!
