My cousin after hearing the gospel in prison, repented of his drug use and theft, worked to make restitution to those who stole from to buy drugs. That's real repentance, acknowledged the sins, and found men willing to put him to work, earning money to pay back his victims of theft. Now he is drug free and runs his own business.

I remember hearing the gospel proclaimed in the first American Gospel film and being brought to my knees, especially over my porn use and legalistic religious mindset. Perhaps the whole situation with Mike Bickle has jolted Michael Brown out of his ‘I’ve never seen that’ complacent stand. The whole Bickle affair has made himself and Sam Storms look extremely naive and completely lacking in discernment. Brown has seen this for years. He always criticizes the men who call out the wolves, like Justin, instead of the wolves. There is something seriously wrong with these men that do not want to protect the sheep. It is shameful!

Many people think that in 2 Timothy Paul is talking about Christians who deny miracles done by men. In actual fact, he’s talking about those who perform fake miracles. Those are the ones who deny God’s power.
There’s no need to deceive people by faking the work of the Holy Spirit. He does plenty of miraculous work without our help.
If Benny Hinn was repentant, he would stop exploiting the poor, sick, and needy.

🙏💜 As a Christian and a Forensic Psychologist, Benny Hinn is a Religious Narcissist, IMHO. Yes, the term "narcissist" is overused in many ways today, but it is appropriate in this case. He enjoys the attention and adulation he receives as a "Man of God," and he is offended by anyone who questions him or his "authority." I also was in a church years ago that taught Word of Faith/Prosperity Gospel without understanding what that was or the dangers of it at the time. As a woman with physical disabilities, I prayed for years for healing...that never came. I was told that I was the one lacking in my faith. This was devastating to me, and I did not understand.
💜 Yes, this is the same story that so many of us have; it is the same reason so many of us are so passionate against these types of teachings or so-called "preachers." I have had the time to rebuild and heal the wounds caused by that church, but it took a long time. Some people give up, or they never try because they are too deeply wounded. Sadly, I can't say I blame them.
💜 THIS is WHY so many don't go to church and will pray at home on their own. It is safer for them than to risk being hurt again by another church. They would rather study the Bible at home than go through that--if they can bring themselves to study it at all with all of the painful memories.
⚔ Benny Hinn, and any other minister who practices such cultish work, may or may not receive their punishment here on Earth before they die; however, I've learned to let go and realize that God's vengeance will be MORE JUST than anything I could imagine. This has been healthier for me and allowed me to release some anger and hurt. I will always passionately defend those who have been harmed by these people...there are too many! 🙏⚔💜

Brown is ramping up his dislike of "hyper-critics" rather than showing an ounce of concern for the victims of con men like Benny Hinn. Dr. Brown will point to his numerous books rather than point out false teachers, in disregard of scriptural instructions to "mark and avoid." Sam Storms is a graphic illustration of the blinding effect of "Charismatic Confirmation Bias." He's an embarrassment.

Sadly, I've noticed an uptick in Facebook posts from Dr Brown attacking cessationists and accusing them of a number of errors and sins. I would have hoped that the IHOPKC debacle would have given him pause that his affections can be misplaced.
Sam Storms makes me really sad. He knows these guys are false, he simply doesn't want to offend his charismatic friends. Much respect to the messed up Channel🎉.
Brown , Hinn and others are in the "eternal bothers" club. Willing to defend and eliminate stressors at every turn, forever at all cost and lies. This will never change. Firstly, the amount of money at stake is too huge and too many "biggest of the big" elders could eliminate all fruits to anyone of these false teachers at the snap of a finger if the "program" were to change or be challenged.
It sounds cliched but it's much bigger that Binn, Brown and Storms plus all other false teachers combined; we are talking about the protection of a Trillion dollars..

While I don't agree with everything Peters says I had to correct one of Dr Michael Brown's supporters on his Facebook post this morning who said discernment ministries such as Peters' never edify the body of Christ; all they do is criticize. I pointed out to him that Peters also teaches the Word of God. Anyone who says otherwise is either ignorant of what Peters does or is just dishonest
Agreed. Peters not only shares the Gospel every time we see him, he has put in extraordinary hours to bring us his many in-depth series'. There's also the work he does at his local church. He also travels the world to share the Gospel. And that's just the stuff we know about.

I followed him along with a lot of televangelists for many years. I went to his crusade here in Mpls in 2004-been praying for a healing for years watching his tv program. I didn't get my healing but went home with a demonic oppression that lasted for months and months. That opened my eyes to all of this evil being portrayed as "good," Thanks for exposing these charatans!

The problem with Brown is that false teachers have plenty latitude before he can decisively label them false teachers. Bob Jones demanded women to undress in order to prophesy to them better but Brown those still accepts him as a genuine brother in Christ who just had a lapse of faith

I loved the conversation with you and Dr Brown and Sam Storms. I am a continuationist, but I found myself agreeing with you almost the entire time.
It's unfortunate that Dr Brown is not likely to participate again, but I do think it would be very beneficial to the church to have more conversations between cessationists and continuationists. I would love to see you and Mike Winger talk about the subject in a similar fashion.

I really appreciate you speaking out about this, thank you so much for doing it because I've been waiting for decades for Benny Hinn to be called out and stop deceiving and victimizing people.
It isn't right, I broke down crying because I was once one of those people when as a teen my grandmother who watched him and gave very frequently large amounts of money to him and TBN praying for my healing took me to one of his healing with a group of her friends.
After years of writing letters and prayer requests sent with her money it ended for me the night she took me to the Benny Hinn show because that was what it felt like a show and I felt so sick and hated every minute of it and guess what I wasn't healed and I didn't feel God there when I was dragged up to be prayed for.
When I had to tell everyone that no I wasn't healed it was soul crushing and on the way home it was what is wrong with you or are you sinning or not believing that God didn't heal you. It was scarring to be so young and looking at brain surgery soon and to feel attacked. An awful time.
It broke my heart when showed the boy and his mom and brought all those feelings back. So grateful you are doing this. Thank you! I hope he stops.
Desperate and heartbroken people will give anything to save those they love and anyone who takes advantage of it should not be in ministry.
My grandmother gave and believed in them until the very end but that was the last time I went to anything to do with anyone from them.

What I don't understand is why, when in a discussion like the round table, the question revolves around "do you know the man's heart"? / "Are you damning his soul to hell"?
If someone is teaching false doctrine they should be called to repent and humbly submit themselves to learn what is true. I feel like these discussions end up going no where because we get stuck on assessing the eternal state of one's soul rather than letting God deal with that as he will, instead staying focused on not letting wolves lead sheep astray.
When someone like Storms or Brown asks "Do you know the man's heart"? or says "I know the man loves Jesus, I'm convinced of that", I believe we should push back with what the word of God says in Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?"
Calling a believer in Christ to repent is no different than doing so to an unbeliever. We are not damning them to hell, we are inviting them to be made new in Christ Jesus.
They didn't want to sit at that round table and be wrong they wanted to be right about Benny Hinn those two men were all about being right that's why they didn't receive the truth of what you were saying about the repentance of Benny Hinn thank you very much for doing what you do I love it

A wonderful text of what true repentance of a man who defrauded others of their money is that of Zacchaeus in Luke 19 (especially v. 8). This, says Jesus, is what "salvation" (v.9) looks like, and what a true son of Abraham lives like. He also taught us that a person cannot serve both God and Mammon (Matthew 6:24), for greed is idolatry (Colossians 3:5). The Scriptures are so clear. I wonder if Sam or Michael would rebuke Balaam, who may have been a nice friend with a charismatic personality, but was simultaneously an enemy of God and His people, who "loved gain from wrongdoing" and only ministered for money (cf. 2 Peter 2:15-17). :(

I watched Mike Winger's video on Benny Hinn, and it was a good one. I'd seen and/or heard of some of the things Hinn had done, but Mike added to my knowledge of his atrocities. There was more than one point during Mike's video I almost cried.

I recall 1 Timothy 3:2 differently. The way I have written this in my heart is a qualification for a leader is that he must be "teachable" ... remember? Has anyone else written this in their heart this way. Today this verse says he must be a "good teacher" or "apt teacher". Really these are astounding and amazing days in which to have been selected to live in. Hope and pray that we all remain teachable. Thanks for the exposure on Crossroads church in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have never been to a service but did hear that the "worship" services at Crossroads are really weird from folks who attended them. Calling on someone to repent is the easy part. Insisting that someone is unfit for ministry, and should therefore step down, is the hard. Dr. Brown went the easy route.

Benny Hinn was here in Kenya last month and made a couple of prophecies....you can't imagine how much our local pastors are counting on those prophecies..just pitiful😢
Yes, Benny Hinn also goes to Nigeria. Africa generally is a big money earner for these Charismatic false teachers as they always get massive crowds who are devils of sound biblical teaching and doctrine.

I want so bad for my 4 year old to be healed. I have PTSD from countless medical situations. Ive almost lost my son 3 times. Watched my wife (this is my wifes account, my actual name is brandon) hold him as he choked on his own blood and only barely survived. He has scoliosis. Cant walk. Spends a bare minimum of 480 hours a year getting infusion at the hospital. These people are EVIL. These people hurt my soul and have no care for anyone.

Justin, being an advocate of Reformed Teaching does not believe the NT gospel that people can repent, believe to be saved. He thinks God must save them first without making any choice because to TO DO anything makes it salvation BY WORKS. Of course repenting and believing are the result of cooperating with the Spirit not MERTITORIOUS works OF THE LAW. They are an exercise of faith.

That’s the problem, being ‘lead by the spirit’ is more important to them than sound doctrine, which is what people so desperately need. I’ve been to countless churches that all just seem like fluff, no teaching of the Word, no sound doctrine.
If they were really led by the spirit they'd know these men are false teachers teacing doctrines of devils...charismatics are led by feelings and emotionalism.
I completely agree with you. I pray you stay strong and continue to speak the truth. Benny Hinn should definitely shut down his ministry. It's very upsetting that Sam Storms and Michael Brown were unable see it.
I fear for the eternal well being of those men and Benny Hinn. There are so many warnings in Scripture. I think of Eli and his sons Hophni and Phineas. God's rebuke to Eli was that, though he knew what his sons were doing and what are the commands of God, he was honouring his sons above the name of God. Eli's sons were killed and Eli's house fell utterly. God holds His Name and the honouring of it in the highest regard. I don't think that has changed since Eli's time. Preserving Benny Hinn's name and reputation at the expense of the honour of God is not wise or noble.
Thank you for this very thoughtful message, brother Justin. I confess, I still have not made it through the whole roundtable because I am increasingly aggravated with Dr Brown and Sam Storms. I find myself talking back (loudly) to their persistent foolishness. Honestly, it's too much to bear sometimes.

False teachers like Benny Hinn and his apologists make me furious. It angers me to see anyone take advantage of the sick, poor, and desperate. It would be more appropriate to disregard them than to prey on them.

I thought Hinn should’ve stepped down over thirty years ago.
When I saw that mother with her son, it immediately made me think of my mom or grandmother, if they were in her position. They would do anything they could to help me, even if it had the slightest chance of working. That thoroughly broke my heart. I can only imagine how desperate that mother is to heal her son. What kind of despicable person takes advantage of people like that? And what kind of person can't acknowledge how wrong it is to do such a thing?
May God have mercy on Benny Hinn. And may He have mercy on Michael Brown and Sam Storms for their ignorance and extreme lack of discernment.

I am praying for you, Justin. I feel there's not many more painful issues as when our fellow believers and Christian coworkers can't see the truth and be united with us when these problems arise. I pray for all in ministries. They are the devil's targets for sure. In the meantime, stand boldly and courageously for our Lord Jesus.....unashamedly strong but yet in the love of Christ. Sometimes it seems we are all alone. However, Jesus promised us that He would never leave us or forsake us. Let's pray for the truth of God, in the will of God, to prevail swiftly. Don't grow weary in the fight.

I want to say so much about the roundtable discussion. But my biggest takeaway, from the panel that is, Sam Storms complete lack of discernment. Its either that, or he is so strong on his traditions that he is blinded to it.
Goes to show how much we need to be in prayer, but especially in the Word! Blows my mind that people can fall for this stuff. But like I said read the Word and you'll know the truth.
Maybe I’m too harsh, but I think this is too little too late from MB. None of this is new, thus giving MB’s announcement now the feel of self-protection. Is Dr. Brown repentant about supporting and thus promoting Mr. Hinn’s behavior?

Sadly, modern Christianitt has relegated repentance to this idea of confessing and apologizing. Fundamentally, repentance in Greek means a change of mind, a change of thinking. I seriously don't see how Mike and Sam say, "we don't know whats in his heart" when Benny continues to think and operate the way he does.
