I just love Tracy Thorn's voice on anything she does......I simply cannot stop listening to this tune....And Will Lee is just the consumate professional, such nice but subtle bass slides at 2:10, and nice riff phrasing at 3:17, not to mention the nice synth embellishments that Paul Schaffer does throughout the song, that totally enhance what Ben is playing on keys....Just an amazing song
That band would be my dream gig. Blown over guest artist charts and still be able to perform and record in the city. Cush!

Playing the complete AMPLIFIED HEART is always great for raining, cold day with cup of warm tea - and Tracey's voice.
While was being in federal prison for a crime I didn't commit from 2012 -2015, I merely hum or sang this song everyday while in there to keep me sane to remember the pleasantness is of a real song

I first heard EBTG about 30 years ago while having lunch on a roof top restaurant in Rhodes, Greece. The album we were listening to was "The language of Life". EBTG has touched my soul in ways no other music has and I always have them on the rotation!!! Her voice and his music and their lyrics = perfect!!! Every single album is different the last and its always great!! For me, 1. Language of Life, 2. Idlewild, 3. Eden.

They are one of those groups that have a very unique sound you can't forget 🎼👌🎶

As I read some stories about how EBTG fans dislike on their direction of this album, I scratched my head on how they didn't like this wonderful album. Sure it can't compared their "Idlewild" album and the album lost a bit of steam on last part. But it was a great opportunity that they have a chance to worked with Tommy Lipuma who produced legendary artist like George Benson, Miles Davis, Worked with greatest artists like Russell Ferrante, Stan Getz, Michael Brecker etc. And the music was very beautiful that I don't know why EBTG fans overlooked songs like "Driving" "Get Back Together" "Me and Bobby D" and "The Road" that featured Stan Getz (in his last years of his life) on sax. It wasn't "selling out" but it was big chance for Ben and Tracy to do something new and not lose their identity.
Sad that after this album. They began to released more darker sound and changed their direction to Electronic Music that for me, I don't like it and I miss their sound from their debut album to "Language of Life" because they make very beautiful music :)
I was a DJ when the American release of “Missing “ happened. As Tracey explained in a documentary I watched the USA label contracted Terry Todd to remix it. And that song blew up. It safe to say that before the Todd remix Missing was just an English only mild hit. Tracey even said so and that they were surprised it blew up. After “ Amplified Heart”, Terry Todd remixed “ Wrong” for “ Walking Wounded” and the die was cast. They were international club music superstars. Followed up by more dance hits from “Temperamental “. You may not like their new direction but millions more fans do. Myself included. They must like it too because after years of absence their new album “ Fuse “ picks right back up with their late 90’s electronic dance music sound and it is great.

@@djbrianc Thank you very much for an answer :) I actually can listened to their stuff in dance era. But now I'm getting older so I started to like music that oriented on Westcoast (Glad that there's someone doing it to this day) so I'm still like their 80s works and "Worldwide" than their dance era.
I actually like dance music during 2000s (Nu-Disco, French House) like Modjo, Disco Montego and Tina Arena "Dare you to be Happy" was my favorite song ever 😄. Glad that sound like this still alive to this day too (Luke Million, Breakbot, Le Flex).
By the way. Do you have your DJ set or DJ Mix /Live performing ? (How to say correctly 😅) I would like to listen too.

This was the first song of theirs that I ever heard. I was so struck by the Album version that I went out and bought the Cassette the next day. Amazing.
I’m been listening to them almost every day of my life. since I discover them in 1996.

My EBTG first love! It set the stage for a love affair with the duo and their beautiful introspective and heartfelt songs! From this album forward their music became the soundtrack to my life for each release! Loving Tracey’s autobiography “Bedsit Disco Queen”!

This sax guy has a different approach than Brecker. More angular. It works really well IMHO (as does Brecker's). Very soulful. I'd hate to have to choose between the two. Got both versions bookmarked. Love what they do to my gut!

the course of life changes us all, so of course that affects their musical output. it's the same for every band that has had a lengthy career. they are doing what feels true to them and it's resonating with someone else. we have to be happy with the things we have and love.
