No. They shouldn’t. Lets lay it out for you.
      1. His friend said he didn’t care about losing his phone, but Miu was dead set to find it. He should’ve left it alone.
      2. He was asked to go away 20 times by the group. He didn’t. He should have called the authorities at that point.
      3. The group started talking shit, he should’ve just walked away. They’re minors, who gives a shit.
      4. A group surrounded him and he pulled his knife and smirked. He knew exactly what he was going to do. He didn’t make any attempt to warn them to get away or leave.
      5. He was then punched twice, so he had a weapon out before any physical contact was made. He WAS the one who escalated the situation.
      6. After the stabbings, he tried to hide the knife, his group he was with lied to the police saying that he was the wrong guy, and then he proceeded to lie to the police. He said he didn’t have a knife, said the kids had the knife, and that it wasn’t him. So now he’s obstructing justice.
Simply put, he had multiple opportunities to walk away, he pulled a weapon before anything happened, and then tried lying to the police. If he felt he didn’t do anything wrong, he wouldn’t have lied.
Take the time to read about the case. You clearly haven’t.

@@Just.Me.Xyz.123 my assessment is this... Mr. Miu was the one minding his own business looking for his friend's phone. The group of young adults (that everyone likes to call
"kids") were the ones that decided he was "creepy" and when he didn't answer them right away, decided he was a pedophile. As they are yelling complete nonsense to/about him, Miu rushes to their tubes but then turns and walks away looking for his goggles. The young men then follow Mr. Miu and continue screaming and harassing him incessantly.
The assault/violence did not start until the two women (from the other group) came over. Both of which got in his face. One was thrusting her phone into his face and they were both putting their hands on and pushing him.
Some claim he then "punched" or "slapped" the lady (Madison). Though somehow, the camera misses that very important encounter; And strangely, the large sunglasses she was wearing did not get knocked off nor move positions at all.
Others claimed, that the hit knocked her down. Yet, the beer or anything else she is holding has fallen from her hands. Also, the phone she had tucked in her suit did not get dropped but stayed nicely tucked just as it was. Again, the video just happens to miss all that too.
Yet, we are to believe that this is what leads to the attack on Mr. Miu. Where what we do clearly see, is him being knocked into the water, punched, slapped, choked~ATTACKED by a mob of men!
What more do you think he should have let this group do to him before it was okay (in your assessment) for him to be in fear for his own life? And when would he finally be within his right to defend himself (however possible) to preserve his own life??
Btw, an important note: Several of the men testified that they felt more emboldened after the other group came over. Which, based on the evidence, makes the most sense has to why they decided to go from verbal to physical abuse.
Is it unbelievably sad that someone lost their life~Absolutely. Is it sad that several people were badly injured~ Yes. What’s sadder, is had this group of young men had not acted like animals and attacked an innocent man for no reason whatsoever, then none of that would have occurred.
With that, I stand strong in my assessment and I believe every individual has the right to defend themselves period. I imagine, if you ever found yourself or a loved one being assaulted by an entire group of individuals, you would see things much differently.✌🏼

@@Just.Me.Xyz.123 my assessment is this... Mr. Miu was the one minding his own business looking for his friend's phone. The group of young adults (that everyone likes to call "kids") were the ones that decided he was "creepy" and when he didn't answer them right away, decided he was a pedophile. As they are yelling complete nonsense to/about him, Miu rushes to their tubes but then turns and walks away looking for his goggles. The young men then follow Mr. Miu and continue screaming and harassing him incessantly.

Even so, we are to believe that this is what leads to the attack on Mr. Miu. Where what we do clearly see, is him being knock into the water, punched, slapped, choked~ATTACKED by a mob of men!

I’ll add, I don’t think it was right for Miu to have lied or deceived, as he did. However, I imagine being in a situation like that could very likely cause someone to react fearful, out of character, and possibly make them do or say things they “shouldn’t.” The bottom line is, it doesn’t change what occurred. He was brutally attacked by an entire group of people and he had a right to defend himself. Nothing he said or did changed that. The end ✌🏼

The vast majority of comments are defensive of Miu. However, let’s consider the following.
Maybe first and FOREMOST, Miu had NO, zero, injuries other than scraped knuckles and minor abrasions on his back that he, himself, stated were caused by himself falling backwards because of “bad shoes”. This according to impartial hospital staff. NO bruises, cuts, black eyes, swollen body parts, abrasions (other than backside), or ANY injuries large or small. So, to say that he was attacked by a mob, or an individual, is unfounded.
Second, none of the teens had any weapons. Only Miu.
Next, it was Miu who initially approached/engaged/interfered with the teens. Not the reverse.
Additional information (not evidence per se) is unlike alcohol, the effects of marijuana are non-aggressive. A person under the influence tends to be mellow, non-confrontational.
Miu, and his group were intoxicated.
Drinking and smoking marijuana is a very common part of floating a popular river in summer months. Common amongst most everyone regardless of age for generations.
Very, very similar to Fourth of July activity.
It wasn’t the teenagers who approached and interfered with Miu’s group floating the river. To the contrary. And, regardless of what Miu’s motivation, when asked, then told to go away, he persisted and ignored their directives to ‘go away…walk away…get the F out of there.
Name calling is NOT reason to escalate a situation to violence.
Miu was the aggressor. Miu was the person who didn’t get the ef away when told to do so. Miu was the perpretator and assailant. Miu was drunk. Miu attempted to hide the weapon and lied to authorities. Miu had NO injuries according to police and hospital staff. NONE.
There was no attack by a ‘mob’ of aggressive teenagers.
The jury of twelve unanimously agreed. Not a court, a judge, lawyers but 12 independent jurors who listened and watched ALL the evidence presented by both the prosecution and the defense and UNANIMOUSLY agreed that Miu assaulted and murdered the teenagers. Unanimously. Had even one juror disagreed then Miu would have been set free. Twelve jurors of HIS peers. Not twelve teenage jurors.
So, when you say they ‘got it wrong’, it’s more likely YOU got it wrong. Either because YOU didnt watch/listen to ALL the testimony and evidence or, you have your prejudice about teenage boys?
Ask yourselves (and answer honestly) if reversed and those stabbed were middle-aged by a teen or a black man, then who would you say was the perpretator?
Society will be a safer place with Miu behind bars. The jury got it right. Our judicial system worked!

They didn't add charges. YOU just don't understand how the system works and bought a con by the defense. Every murder charge has a downward departure.

@JoeLene_ exactly why the system is broken we can't get you on this so we'll get you on this charge instead. State will get you one way or the other

What's wrong with these teens?? Ohio State Univ did a study and found "Nearly half of teachers are considering quitting or transferring jobs, with one of the main reasons being the violence and threats made against them"
New York Post headline in December "Teachers are quitting in droves because they’re scared of student violence - and a lack of punishment"

You should try to understand the system before they find you next because our criminal justice system is extremely complex which is why all Americans should stop ignoring the system and actually get educated on it.
All those charges they had were simple charges too they could have added even more charges to this case, but the more charges you add the harder it is for the case.

So bullying someone is an excuse to kill? Guess you have a strong stance on school shootings. Also key word KIDS. Maybe the adult should have acted like one.

They wouldn’t have surrounded them if he didn’t run up to them and grab their tubes while they were sitting. He murdered them to protect his ego. That’s all.
