- Ryhley Mattison was the 11th witness to testify in the Apple River stabbing trial. Mattison was among the five people stabbed on the river on July 30, 2022. Nicolae Miu is facing life in prison for the crimes.

I know there is no duty to retreat in Wisconsin however he could have left that situation at a thousand earlier moments and he chose not to. Miu was the first one to touch anyone when he approached the tubes when the teens were all still sitting on them and he tried to flip them out of the tube.

Why be sorry? These people ruined so many lives including their own. They will be self-medicating drug addicts in and out of jail for decades, Isaac is gone forever, Mr. Miu and his wife have had their lives flipped upside down, all because this woman and her gang couldn’t mind their business.
These comments worry me even further for the future of our species. Dumb kids, sure. A group that may have misread the situation, but certainly seemed they were just trying to help. A grown ass man who wasn’t going to tolerate some rowdy kids and, despite supposedly being the only sober-ish person in the mix, refused to just walk the hell away. Regardless of what did or didn’t happen in the river that day, miu shows by his own actions in the aftermath that even HE didn’t believe he was just innocently defending himself. I don’t think this was first degree murder necessarily, but he is DEFINITELY responsible for the carnage & for Isaac’s death. Absolutely manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon, as well as obstruction for stashing the knife and running away in disguise.
I would say in the beginning it was all the kids this fault and I can completely see why he would be afraid at that moment but he had gotten away after being pushed into the water and then returned to the situation. After the he left the situation and was no longer surrounded by people he should have had no longer feared for his life. He was just trying to protect his ego. He is a maniac and he needs to go to jail. Plus, if you've watched the whole trial, you'll realize that after murdering that poor child, he tried to disguise himself by putting on a shirt, hat and sunglasses and then tried to run away from the law enforcement.If he truly felt he was innocent and just defending himself, why did he try to not only run away in incognito but he also tried to hide the knife in the woods. Even if it's self-defense there should still be charges for resisting arrest, evading and tampering with evidence.

He admitted to the investigator that he had been drinking beer all day. You then have to realize that he has to be responsible for his out of control actions, just like the others. When he hit Madison in the face... This is what set off the frenzy. This is also when his self-defense theory went out the window. Had he not hit Madison in the face, whether it was a hit or a slap or a punch He still did it. Had he not hit Madison in the face, the frenzy would not have escalated to the point where the defendant was then hit and pushed.The defendant could have left the vicinity, and we wouldn't be left with one dead young adult and four others stabbed seriously. He needs to go to prison for some length of time

Yep, anyone under the age of 26 is now being referred to as a kid, especially males. If I had to guess I think it came from the study that says the male brain isn’t fully developed until the age of 30 and also with many 20+’s still living at or moving back home. Their parents refer to them as kids. I recently heard a dad in a TV interview refer to his son as a 24-year old kid.

It would be one thing if he was honest and claimed self-defense, but he blatantly lied until the video came out and he couldn't lie anymore. He washed the knife and hands, threw the knife and went back to his group, and acted like he didn't just stab 4 people... then tried to drive home! When cops stopped him, he acted clueless and played innocent! In his interrogation he said they had kitchen knives and he saved himself by stabbing the kids with their own knives! He was called names and pushed and punched once but Even then, stabbing 4 people is overkill. He didnt speak at all to let them know he was looking for a phone. He just invaded their space and lunged at them assuming they had the missing phone.He had plenty of opportunity to walk away from the group of kids it didnt have to go that far. convenient for him hitting the girl wasn't caught on camera but he said himself he "pushed" her face with his hand to move her. An adult should walk away in a situation escalating over name calling. @serenadobrick i watched every minute of every single person in the stand back to back. said he saw them with something that looked like the phone in a float bag when he approached, and then he ran at them or in his words "increased his pace" to "investigate" if it was his friends phone his words. he said he "stumbeled and landed on their tubes." Theres also a point in the conversation where he says their group thought the phone rang sounded in the direction of the kids with their tubes before he left to go search. very clear that he thought they might have this phone, and thats why he brought himself over there and wouldnt leave when asked to do so

The legal definition of an "assault" is putting your hands on someone without permission. This witness put her hands on the defendant twice. The other woman also put her hands on him. They escalated the situation into a violent encounter.
They all pushed him and he got punched and he tried to get a way, but they surrounded him and pushed him some more, they were lucky he only did 2, lost for lost. That's how hell was designed.

It's not bizarre when you realize that tik tok and other social media incentivizes crime and this kind of behavior. Do it for the culture which is something they keep saying on the video is a call to escalate a situation to publish it online for clout.

He has the knife in his right hand when this SOMETHING happens because you can see it clearly in the video.
