Barely, barely, barely. BIG HITs & little but great GEMS. Assorted bag of sweets. Saw you got a kick out of Freddie's falsetto.- so COOL CAT (officail Queen lyric video, no LIVE performance out there BUT a little great gem for fans) will send you into a tail spin. And yes, bravo to another terrific bass line John.

A Winter's Tale; last song Freddie ever wrote..........he was very ill, but he saw such beauty from the window (he was losing his eyesight) of his home that overlooked the frozen lake. It was the last time he was there......when he got back to London he ceased his meds and died soon after.....such a beautiful lyric in a time when he knew his life was ending.......

I am LOVING your Queen/Freddie Mercury reactions, PLEASE keep going!
I know somebody else already said: Vanilla Ice actually stole the bass line. He tried insisting it was his because he had added in one note, but Queen won the case: Vanilla Ice settled out-of-court with Queen and David Bowie, by paying to buy partial rights to the "Under Pressure" song.

"FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS" LIVE AT MILTON KEYNES BOWL, 1982
    FOR MORE OF FREDDIE'S FALSETTO:

David Bowie lived near bye and went to the studio and they were just playing around and decided to make a song together. Freddie went in and did his thing scatting and they David went in the both and sang his bits. Listen to the David and Freddie version.

    ‘I won't be a Rock Star. I will be a Legend’: Freddie Mercury ----------------
"The reason we’re successful, darling? My overall charisma, of course."
"I'm just a musical prostitute, my dear."
"I dress to kill, but tastefully."
"Oh, I was not made for heaven. No, I don’t want to go to heaven. Hell is much better. Think of all the interesting people you’re going to meet down there."
"The most important thing is to live a fabulous life. As long as it’s fabulous I don’t care how long it is."
"I always knew I was a star. And now, the rest of the world seems to agree with me."
"I think my melodies are superior to my lyrics."

I am waiting on pins and needles for the Live Aid version of BoRap. Queen is like Journey in that there are so SO many songs you have heard that you never knew was them, but Queen's songs have become such a part of pop culture they are used in movies, commercials, sporting events, etc. I remember when I was in band in high school, we used to sing We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions to the other team to taunt them, and I didn't find out they were Queen songs till I was 30. I am 40 now, and it's still happening. Just today I was watching reactions from your channel when I had to run an errand, and Fat Bottom Girls came on the radio and I was rocking out to it. When I got home, found your Queen playlist and lo and behold....There was FAT BOTTOM GIRLS! I NEVER knew they sang that before today! They are truly a treasure, an endless bag of gems that never disappoint!

So this song was actually a collab with David Bowie and the studio version has the two kind of vibing off each other. The version that you react to here was filmed at Live Aid and they weren't able to secure Bowie for the concert. You have such an amazing reaction to high notes, I'd love to see what you'd think of old school Beach Boys songs like Help Me Rhonda or California Girls.

You asked in a previous video whether you should watch the movie or not. I think you should knowing that it’s not 100% accurate for dramatic effect. But Brian May (guitarist) and Roger Taylor (drummer) were involved with making it because they knew someone else would and get a lot of things wrong. So they have given their stamp of approval and the actor who played Freddie won an Oscar for the role. But, I also recommend checking out all the documentaries on YT to learn about Freddie and the band. That’s what I did. I enjoyed the movie, but I know how things really played out.
Here are a few documentaries about Queen and Freddie if you’d like to learn more about them:
    Days of Our lives-Queen Documentary:
    th-cam.com/video/BCQcA1RBtuw/w-d-xo.html
    Freddie Mercury -Greatest Showman:
    th-cam.com/video/90J7kdA22Gs/w-d-xo.html
The Show Must Go On - How Queen were able to sell out stadiums 30 years after Freddie’s death:
    th-cam.com/video/izcIrq8dBpU/w-d-xo.html
Brian and Roger have said that it was an interesting experience to see the actors playing them and it was eerie being on certain sets. Brian also mentioned that there were times when he saw video and he wasn’t sure if it was him when he was younger or the actor playing him.

AB, please check out the live version of this song from Wembley Stadium. At the beginning Freddie shows what an incredible front man he is and how to get the crowd involved so that it’s an experience. He’s a master at controlling a crowd! Just watch Love of my life from Rock in Rio, Montreal 1981 and at Wembley in 1986. Every time he does a live performance, he does something a bit different. It’s so cool to watch the differences with the same song.
Live Aid is also great. It was a charity event in 1985, also at Wembley Stadium for the famine in Ethiopia. There were several acts and each had a 20 minute set. Most of the acts played their current hits to sell albums, but Queen took full advantage of the entire 20 minutes and put on a great show. In fact, Queen stole the show and all the acts backstage knew it! Since there weren’t any lights on the stage, many critics thought that Queen wouldn’t do well since their shows have a big production, but Freddie and the boys showed the naysayers how it’s done and they don’t need lighting effects to put on a great show. Many have said it’s the greatest live performance
One day I’m going to watch the full Montreal 1981 and Wembley 1986 concerts and any other I can find just to see his brilliance and how he changes things from each performance

I think Queen was the "Perfect Storm" of vocalist PLUS ensemble members. The guitarist Brian May was trained as an Astrophysicist and chose to showcase his other talents as a guitarist. This added to the other great musical talents opened doors for them that brought about one of the most iconic groups ever.

Please add Play the Game live in Montreal 1981, Tie Your Mother Down live at Wembley 7/12/1986 (they did 2 nights and Saturday was better). It’s A kind of Magic live at Wembley 1986. Save Me live in Montreal 1981. A really good older one White Queen live at Hammersmith Oden 1975.
Also, you must do the 20 minute LIVE AID concert. Queen stole the show. There were 60 bands that day in July 1985 raising money for the starving people in Ethiopia. Each group had a small amount of time. It was at Wembley in London and also in Philadelphia. It was broadcast around the world with a TV audience of 1.9 Billion people. Their performance is still ranked number 1 for the best live.

Queen didn’t have a ton of number one hits in the US but they weren’t really appreciated in their day for what they were doing. It wasn’t until much later did people really appreciate their work. Also you have to see the time frame and what was the pop competition at the time. Some classics hit number one but I don’t think with the same enduring quality as what queen put out.

Yes there was a big controversy ( copyright law suit Queen& Bowie won) questioning whether Vanilla Ice stole the bassline. I remember he argued that it had an extra eighth note pickup before going into the famous bassline & therefore it was different & not stolen. (BS)😂

"The Vanilla Ice joint"? You made my heart hurt a bit with that one. Two icons of vocal abilities and all kids think of is Ice. You can not compare Freddie and David Bowie to him. You are expanding your tastes, I am happy to see that. Keep going.

Freddie Mercury in my opinion is among the top and most versatile vocalists of all time. Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson are up there with him. They have the best stage presence and pure entertainment in addition to their talent

You need to do a reaction to “Killer Queen”. It’s the one song that had me hooked on Queen back in the day.

I usually know that you love a song when you do the chair dance. This time you danced with the chair so you must have really loved this song.

There's a great video mix of Freddie from the Wembley '86 concert & Bowie from the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert synced to the album version. While Freddie & Roger do this well, the Freddie/Bowie version is SOOOOO much better. There are also some great performances of Roger singing this w/ Adam Lambert. Adam sings Freddie's part & Roger sings David's part. They both do a great job.

Yep, Rob Van Winkle (Vanilla Ice) stole the bass riff, and it cost him some money. I would love for you to react to their song Sheer Heart Attack off of the News Of The World album, which was done in 77. The Sex Pistols and punk rock had just taken the world by storm. Sheer heart attack was queen's answer to (and attack on) punk rock. Though they had many, many great songs, this may be my favorite. Thanx AB !!!

Queen was one of those groups that had hit singles, but you didn’t listen to Queen for the singles, you listened to Queen for the whole album, and you would get the new Queen album no questions asked before you heard the first note.

Love your reaction, Freddie/Queen are phenomenal. You will also need to listen to the Wembley live version and see how he interacts with the crowdth-cam.com/video/OVzvoPP6M50/w-d-xo.html. Another song I'm sure You heard of is Another One Bites the Dust th-cam.com/video/fSqabIPCOek/w-d-xo.html Again, love your reaction.

Vanilla ice did steal it and was sued by Queen! Queen won and now owns rights to ice ice baby! That famous bassline is the brain child of John Deacon the bassist for Queen!
