If you loved that performance you, definitely, need to check out their “Live Aid” performance! It’s AMAZING! Freddie Mercury and Queen are unmatched to this day. Adam Lambert has done Freddie some justice while touring with the band, but there will NEVER be another singer/performer like Freddie Mercury. He was a one off that can be imitated, but never recreated. The mold was broken with him; and I think that’s a good thing.
Freddie is, was, and will always be THE BEST SINGER, FRONT MAN OF ALL TIME!!! I'm so blessed to have been alive thru their career! The best group of all time!! Journey is a close second... but Queen and Freddie will never fall from #1
lol - yeah, Bohemian Rhapsody film is about Freddie, and Queen. It's fun to watch, as long as you don't believe it is a documentary. Because it's not, it's a Hollywood film - so stuff is out of context, time frames moved around, characters are molded to fit the plot. It's more of a vibe. Still very entertaining and won lots of awards.

NOW you understand why the studio version is a must before the live! Please remember that the vocals live were just them. No other background singers, no autotune nothing but talent! Great reaction and remember that this journey has only begun!
Keep in mind while you watch this there was no voice correction or ear pieces. This is sheer genius by this band EVERY time they performed. This is real talent, not a studio creation like now. He drank honey and tea and water. Rarely drank beer as he thought it was rude for the audience to hear him burp
He'd have some vodka for performances and then the tea with honey during them. I've seen the piano like that in videos of rehearsals or "the making of" videos.
one of the coolest things is that if you LIKE a Queen song (studio version), you'll probably LOVE the same Queen song (live version). And, if you love the "live' version, you can watch many of them from several concerts because each is a different experience! No cookie-cutter performances. Queen has such a presence! I remember watching a video of a crowd waiting for a concert to start, not even a Queen concert. They were playing music before the start just recorded music and one of the songs was Bohemian Rhapsody but it was only the instrumental. I kid you not, the entire crowd sang the whole song, not missing a single word. Queen changed the world with their music and we lost Freddy Mercury way too soon! LOL...... welcome to the wonderful world of Freddie, Brian, Roger and John........ 4 of the best musicians....ever !! Queen's live performances were legendary. The studio versions are amazing. And... best of all..... they sang every kind of song imaginable. They always liked to surprise people...... You have 20 years of Queen's albums, singles, videos and live performances to enjoy. These 4 were together for 20 years..... 1971 until Freddie's early death in 1991. Best band EVER !!! Enjoy the journey.......... :-)
Queen never sounded exactly like their studio recording...they wanted to entertain and put on a show and always gave it their all. Fredddie wrote this song which was inspired by Arteha Franklin,, the queen of soul. Live performances show Freddie's showmanship skills. React to more live songs: NOW I'M HERE, tTIE YOUR MOTHER DOWN, IT'S A KIND OF MAGIC live at Wembley and PLAY THE GAME , live in Montreal or at Milton Keynes - all are fire because Queen is considered the best live band of all time.
What you need to listen to is Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé singing Barcelona!!!! AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGG. gives me chills EVERY TIME!!!!! His voice 😍❤️👏🏻💕
This is outstanding, I am so glad you got to experience this. Another live masterpiece is Queen: White Queen live at Odeon, Hammersmith 1975 absolutely mind blowing performance. To hear the opposite side of Freddie's voice to the live song you just experienced today you need to listen to You Take My Breath Away, live at Hyde Park. Both of these are masterpieces. I don't think there is a live Queen performance that I don't love, to be perfectly honest. The band was all about giving the audience the best experience they could ever imagine and Queen always delivered. Thank you for reacting to this outstanding performance. Now go and listen to it again and this time, also keep your eye and ear on Roger Taylor (drummer) because he is singing his lungs out back there throughout the entire song and still slammin' those skins. The movie Bohemian Rhapsody is about Freddie and it is a very good movie but bear in mind when you watch it that it is a movie and not a documentary. The chronology is not correct and some of the "facts" are not really factual. It is a movie so they had to jam 20 years into two hours. Do watch the movie, and do enjoy the movie but don't accept it as a correct depiction of the band or the timeline on Freddie's life. Tomorrow (Nov 24th) will be 30 years since we lost Freddie Mercury, the legend of legends. I miss him and his music every day.
The interlude for White Queen, literally plays your soul, I'm not exaggerating either, it just takes you away, you don't know where, but you know you like it :)
Great reaction! I love seeing new people discover Queen. They are the best live band ever in my opinion and the only band where all the members wrote at least one #1 song. All 4 members were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.Correct… the Bohemian Rhapsody movie is about Queen
I adore Queen live! You get to see one of, if not the, greatest showman ever. Set aside 20 minutes for their Live Aid performance. It is considered the most iconic rock performances ever. Brian May, the guitarist, put a link to the Pentatonix cover of Bohemian Rhapsody in his Twitter.

Watch the Live Aid performance- geez- it’s been told to be the best rock performance in history- I’m so happy you’ve found Queen!! Now go down the Queen rabbit hole and I’ll watch you every time! And 200 or so songs later- 💛💛
Stunned silence is what happens after you've watched the GOAT best Frontman of all time. And one of if not the best live bands in history. Go at it in GOD MODE! For the first time live.
Your making me realize how lucky I was to have seen Queen and Freddy Mercury twice in the 70"s. He was such an incredible showman! There will never be another like him.
Queen studio versions are perfection and detailed, but live Queen is energy and passion. Both superb in their own ways! There is also a big difference in '70's Queen and '80's Queen. Personally, I think Freddie's voice got better as he aged.
What your eyes behold has been managed by an artist trained musician, Freddie Mercury. That is, the cups, containers on the piano must reflect 'this is a rock n' roll concert' - Concert goers believe it! Freddie is mostly sipping a honey lemon concoction. Gotta aim to keep his throat hydrated for up to 2 hrs of perfection.
I have gone back to watch your reaction a few times! For the performance and your reaction! This concert was in 1981, but you and your followers can view the entire concert from 1986, the last time Queen performed there. I was not far away from the stage! Unforgettable show too!
The Milton Keynes performance is also amazing, but I think I prefer Freddie’s insane opening in the Montreal version and the end plus Milton Keynes is missing Roger’s falsetto at the very end. But that’s just my opinion 🤷🏻♀️ Just like Love of My Life in Montreal, at Wembley and Rock in Rio. All three performances are amazing but they are all different
As someone who grew up with a lot of the music you're reacting to, I appreciate that it takes me back to the first time I heard the songs. You're instant love of the music is what I love best about watching your reactions. It's a very joyful experience. Thank you.
I knew you would like it! Next, please, react to Queen Live Aid, I swear you will like it! Answering your question, according to Peter Hince (or "Ratty", Freddie's and John Deacon's personal assistant who appears in this video as the guy who gives back and forth Freddie's mic, he's one of the funniest persons you will find in this life), Brian and Roger were the ones to drink beer, but never enough to get drunk (they drank water too, just tasting the beer from time to time). John, in other hand, had his own bar behind his amp, and is actually a very funny drunk, danced all over the stage at his best days (at some point, he prefered to be drunk when they performed, because when he was, he wasn't so shy anymore, it helped him in some ways, and because it never messed with his bass lines, the others conceded and let him do as he pleased). Freddie had an actual funny story about drinking on stage, he did it just once, and man, that didn't go so well! He wasn't like John, who could drink an entire bar and still play perfectly, he got real plastered and forgot the lyrics! The band was jumping in his throat for days after that, to the point he swore to never do that again. At this point, he had his own cups of water and soft drinks, alongside Brian's and Roger's. After the shows, they could do anything they wanted (and Freddie had a reputation of being real wild in the afterparties), but on stage, they were always very professionals.
Listen to Save Me live Montreal 1981. Brian the guitarist plays piano then Freddie takes over and Brian switches to his guitar. Four talented musicians the best ever live. Saw them twice. This tour The Game 1980 and Hot Space 1982.
So glad that you discovered Freddie Mercury and Queen!! My all time favorite band!! I am old, so I was lucky enough to see them perform live twice!! And the tickets were $4.50!!! RIP Freddie!!
If you thought this performance was amazing you should react to their 1985 Live Aid concert.. It really shows how well his stage presence was and how much control he had.. It will really blow your mind.. Great reaction as always keep up the amazing work .
With show time approaching, towels and drinks for the band’s refreshment on stage would now be strategically placed: water and beer for Fred, beer for Brian and Roger and the Backstage Bar for John, comprising water, beer, soft drinks, wine and whatever spirit or cocktail he fancied at the time: Southern Comfort, vodka or tequila. - Peter Hince (aka Ratty), Fred’s and John’s roadie and head of Queen’s crew.
Freddie puts on a Master class how to hold down a crowd. Once you work through the major hits, watch the Live Aide, you talking about eating out of the hand. He was a maestro......he can play a lot of instruments, but his favorite instrument is the crowd. Yes they did a movie on Queen called Bohemian Rhapsody.........Remi Malek did Freddie justice for sure. The first thing they actually filmed for that movie was the Live Aide performance.
I think in the cups is actually honey & lemon. Yes, it's about the group not exactly thought the movie is a bit exaggerated & the timeline is off. I don't care for the way Freddie was portrayed but he didn't want to be borrowing.
I haven’t seen you react to any Johnny Cash songs, so didn’t have that forum to make a comment. He’s another voice that can be, somewhat, imitated but will NEVER be duplicated or replicated. He’s another one-of-a-kind, beautiful voice that’ll never come around again.
Queen is Legendary and always will be..Amazing chemistry, totally focused, very harmonized, and a lot of energy. Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, best musicians by far. Don't forget Roger's backing vocals while playing the drums. Concerts are not like that today. No lip syncing whatsoever. Pure talent. ❤️🔥
Aww I wish you could see their Live Aid performance before seeing the movie. But I'm SO glad you are going to watch the movie. It's good. The movie does a great job reenacting that performance. But it will still be fun to react to the Live Aid video. It's long, but worth it.
Freddie was also a smoker like most if not all were in the early '80's. I was and I was 11 in 1981!!! I'm always reminded of the sad thought that Brian May (guitarist) has repeated often in interviews that had Freddie had been diagnosed only one year later than he was, he likely would have lived because of the advancements in medications and therapies to fight HIV/AIDS.
I saw Queen several times beginning in 1975, NOBODY will ever be better live. Freddie will be forever unmatched. John, Roger, Brian and Freddie are all legends of Queen.
Roger (the drummer) was underrated as a singer. When Freddie was struggling with his voice due to the tour schedule, Roger would jump in for the high parts. They were one of a kind.
Great reaction! I discovered Queen during the 70’s, the first song I heard on the radio was “Killer Queen” in 1974, I was hooked! So blessed to have seen them Live, front row, near Freddie and his piano in a smaller venue. Sis and I were awestruck teenagers, we will never forget it for as long as we live. I kept waving my camera at Freddie, finally, he noticed, he grabbed a drink and saluted us fans long enough for me to take a picture. I digitally transferred the photo! Freddie Mercury was the FIRST celebrity I took a picture of. Not many can say that. Keep listening to more Queen, you won’t be disappointed!! 🙂🙂🙂

Heineken should pay Queen for that product placement, which is absolutely PRICELESS.
Roger Taylor's drumming and background vocals are epic. I'm so glad this is on film for future generations to enjoy.
Roger was fantastic at picking up the vocals and helping Freddy out when he needed. Definitely underrated.

Live aid concert, you won't be disappointed
Listen to Save Me live Montreal 1981. Brian the guitarist plays piano then Freddie takes over and Brian switches to his guitar. Four talented musicians the best ever live. Saw them twice. This tour The Game 1980 and Hot Space 1982.
You want your mind blown...Queen 'a live aid performance...20 minutes you won't regret
I saw them in 1978, the vibe was Incredible!!!!
Queen,Queen,Queen, how wonderful. To hear them sing,(Some Body To Love).
And you're only just getting started! There's so much more Queen goodness ahead of you, and I'm looking forward to witness your journey :)
So glad that you discovered Freddie Mercury and Queen!! My all time favorite band!! I am old, so I was lucky enough to see them perform live twice!! And the tickets were $4.50!!! RIP Freddie!!
Today is 30 years ago since he passed away RIP Freddie ❤️
YESSS....R.I.P. Dear Freddie, Thank you for sharing your fantastic voice with.....The World!
If you thought this performance was amazing you should react to their 1985 Live Aid concert.. It really shows how well his stage presence was and how much control he had.. It will really blow your mind.. Great reaction as always keep up the amazing work .
The drummer sings too
Right?! Nothing like Freddie and Queen! ❤️
Epic
Check out the live version of Save Me. Freddie will break your heart with every note. Also he and Brian (the guitarist ) switch off playing piano
There was nothing like hear a new Queen song on the radio...I still love it...thanks...great reaction!
Is it true that he avoided beer in concert because he knew it would make him burp while on stage?
Freddie puts on a Master class how to hold down a crowd. Once you work through the major hits, watch the Live Aide, you talking about eating out of the hand. He was a maestro......he can play a lot of instruments, but his favorite instrument is the crowd. Yes they did a movie on Queen called Bohemian Rhapsody.........Remi Malek did Freddie justice for sure. The first thing they actually filmed for that movie was the Live Aide performance.
Live Aid, the ultimate Queen Live performance. 20 minutes but worth it.
EXACTLY its like He ZAPS your energy!!! FREDDIE OMGGG BEST BEST EVER!!!! RIP FREDDIE WE MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was happy for you and me that at the end of the day you got it!
Freddie Rock Star ☑ Opera singer ☑ Composer ☑ Dancer ☑ Pianist ☑ Genius ☑ and so much more
I think in the cups is actually honey & lemon.
Yes! :) You did it, the best, single, performance (!?) It's up there for shure.
Facts 🔥🔥🔥💙
Queen is Legendary and always will be..Amazing chemistry, totally focused, very harmonized, and a lot of energy. Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, best musicians by far. Don't forget Roger's backing vocals while playing the drums. Concerts are not like that today. No lip syncing whatsoever. Pure talent. ❤️🔥
Great reaction. 🤍 Can't wait for you to react to Save Me Live at Montreal ♥️♥️
What is better than🔥? Queen RAW 🎶 on stage. YES SIR.
It's so fun watching reactions to Queen from people who are new to them !
OMG your reaction definitely 🔥🔥🔥 Freddy Mercury had a great voice and his performance was fantastic RIP and queen has so many great songs too
Greatest live performance 🎭
No orange juice left
Love it
Thanks brother
Yup! Movies fabulous! The guy who played Freddie n the movie studied his movements, songs everything and he won Best Actor for his performance!
Before the time of in-ear monitors too! Just incredible. Real musicianship
Lmao Freddie got me flustered 😂😂 he has me flustered all the time 😂 omg going down the Queen catalog has been so fun and exciting. I am learning all their songs I’m a huge fan. Thanks TH-cam for bringing Queen into my life. I love you Freddie Mercury! That’s my boo!
Queen ALWAYS BETTER LIVE!!
Freddie is the best , I love so much about him.
The other members of the band are shockingly talented too. They all have genius level IQs. it shows in performances, doesn't it? Everything is above the rest. They rehearsed a lot, too.
The group was talented and controversial.
ABtheKreator, doing an outstanding job! you were the first responder I ever listened to, "criticing" the Righteous Brothers, Wowza. I am total loving this generation jamming with my times and artists. Totally far-out man. Keep on keeping on. Mahalo, an old lady fan, then and now!
Beyond fire? This is hotter than the big bang. OMG indeed.
