@@lonewolfgamingplus379 It's certainly NOT impossible. Oh, it would have to be a fan-made-style sleeper release. Otherwise, it would give opponents all the more time to protest against production and release. Look at "Joker". It was just as empathic to the serial killer as monster, won rave reviews, scores of awards (the first "Best Actor" win for a comics-based film), and yet, people were going crazy in their attempts to prevent theaters from even showing it. People took great risk in seeing the film in theaters (less in fear of a mass shooter, and more in fear of social and professional condemnation). Out of loyalty (often, at least) to Marvel Studios, people and content editors generally seem to not want to see a successful DC movie unless it's got strong promotional tones of identity politics, shouts loudly, and waves a big stick (not a patriarchal euphemism, but a spin off a T.R. quote).

aside from a couple of new costume designs, New52 was literally the worst. it deconstructed every belovded superhero into a edgy 10 years old's wet dream. it was obviously the wrong inspiration for these movies
The thing is every creator can come in and do what they want. You can dislike some and like others at the end of the day, none of them are wrong. Snyder picked the line up he wanted. He was fair and sincere and I respect him for that...
Are Warner Bros. employing Alex Ross as an art director, concept designer, or anything for their current & future cinematic projects? If not, they need to Lock Him Down!
If they were able to duplicate the art of Ross in a living, moving medium with cg (the way Into the Spiderverse approached its tone), coupled with the actual tone of the characters it would be a license to print money. It's not rocket science at all.
They could use live action motion capture animation for a Alex Ross movie. That type of film had so much potential, but they throw it away to soon. They'd be able to capture the art style and still have real people acting in the scenes.
THE JUSTICE LEAGUE CAST WE DESERVE: Tom Welling as Superman Jon Hamm as Batman Katherine Heigl as Wonder Woman Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Scott Porter as The Flash Eric Dane as Aquaman Isaiah Washington as Martian Manhunter Zachary Levi as Captain Marvel I know some of these are official castings but I'd still want to see them in something like a HBO MAX miniseries
Alex Ross is talking about a time when machine learning and deep fake technology gets to a point where photorealistic cgi can be done faster than real time and AI can automate about 99% of the workload that cgi artists take months to achieve. That is probably two decades away. But when that day arrives it will democratise movie making forever. Even one person will be able to produce a blockbuster that is 100x better than anything possible today. And without the prohibitive costs involved or restrictive time process. I live for that day to arrive quickly enough. Creativity will truly experience a new renaissance when that happens. If anyone can make such high production value projects, there will be an explosion of imagination on the internet. With more content created daily than can be consumed in many lifetimes. Food for thought.
Very well said. I know I would probably cry tears of joy if I were to see a close to _"realistic"_ CGI version¹ in the style of *Alex's* art. ••✸•• *¹* ─ Granted, it would likely require quite a bit of work to get the balance right between his art and the _"realism."_ And I would definitely want them to lean towards his art more.
Any version of Justice League or any other character depends on the storyteller. Unless we're talking about the first time these characters were ever presented by their creators, there is no "definitive" depiction. At this point, there is only preference and the golden rule. He who has the gold controls the rules, meaning whomever has the money and resources will tell the story and present the characters based on their preferences.
I'm shocked by these comments. Listen it would be impossible to do. There's many other versions out there than Alex Ross versions. I'm sorry but it's true. If you do the versions, you always get something wrong and then the fans complain about one thing they didn't get right.. I'm glad DC is giving us movies with good actors playing the characters we love. Not everything has to be the Dark Knight.
The disappointment was also their doing. They cut the movie that was supposed to be the almost 3 hours (The Ultimate Cut) when it supposed to the the one they shown in the theater. And the news was already laid bare, that the reason they insist on releasing it that year, even after Zack's backdown was the studio heads want their bonuses. And changing the movie plot, arc and tone in the middle of shooting is a recipe of disaster, and a waste of money too.
godinacape Ultimate Cut did nothing. It still didn’t fix that Superman does nothing and all the other character flaws. The blame is on the studio for putting Zack Snyder, a guy who has only read The Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen to helm their films.
@@dead0ntime lol no, Superman did nothing? He saved Lois, he saved peoples, natural disasters, and accidents in the montages, he confronts and finally saved Batman soul, he stopped Lex plan, he died for mankind. Clark more fleshed out on his crusade to take down Batman. Well i guess you overlooked the motif of the movie. It's about men in their fear and hubris trying to take down a misunderstood alien which is, at the center is a man. This movie is about introducing Batman, and the reaction of mankind on the existence of someone like Superman, the pros and cons that was heated by Lex pulling the string behind the curtain and the mass media who doesn't help either. Sorry, how do you know that it was the only comic that he read? He's a profess geek like us, yet he knows that much about the shortcomings of funny paper and how these type of movies, therefore the idea of bring it to the real world situation and collide it. Another fact: Terrio and Goyer wrote the story, not him. I don't give 2 cents what you like or not, that's your right as an audience but saying baseless things like that doesn't help your case or your credibility.
When I finally forced myself to watch the director's cut it took me a week-yeah, a WEEK-to slog through it, but it did answer the burning question in my mind: If a movie sucks ass at two hours long, will it suck less ass at four hours long? The answer is: NO. In fact, will it suck more? The answer is: YES. That said, this video made me think of something that hadn't occurred to me: Zack Snyder's films and the DCU live-action films in general have become the dark, unappealing, uninspiring, un-fun world of Kingdom Come, and like pastor Norman McCay I'm now praying that the company can find its way back to the light with an Alex Ross-inspired movie. Where’s the Spectre when you need him?
Thank you Alex Ross for sharing this you are right these are not the character we love they are different I don't like what synder has done he shows them killing and all this brutality that I think superman won't do he wouldn't lift up a guy only to laser out his eyes this is not superman same with everyone but I like that synder has the guts to go against the flow the movie I don't think it is gonna be good it will be probably to dark I can't wait to see batman like kill fifty people fly out then tei a car to batmobile shoot 100 caliber rounds then just then throw the car at another car ( totally not sarcastic ) but I would still watch it knowing that Zack has worked so hard for this to happen
Telling it like it is. I don’t like Snyderverse DC. It’s too dark and depressing. Everyone feels like Batman. But Snyder should finish his vision. As bad as it may or may not be
I take his points about the tone and overall direction that Snyder was going for, but he's wrong about the casting, that was superb. Henry Cavill as Superman for example, looks ripped straight from a comic book panel.
Any movie, regardless of genre, is going to have problems when major changes are made midstream. For that matter, that applies to anything in the entertainment industry. In this case, it made for a series of confusing and, honestly, bad movies from DC. What really rankles me is the loss of what the JLA stands for - justice and light. The DC movies have focused on the darkness and it doesn't really work for these characters. Even Batman has been recreated into a creature of extreme rage. One of Batman's biggest appeals has always been that he overcame the rage and channelled his pain into becoming a force for good. Not for vengeance. His line about his super-power is being rich? Seriously? That's not who he is. Sure, the storylines are about fighting the darkness, but it's in the name of returning the balance of light, not in maintaining their own dark moods. Marvel understands this. DC does not. I see Snyder's vision of the JLA being one of fighting and anger, coupled with video game poses amongst the CGI. There were some good moments, but very few actual attemtps at three-dimensional character development. And that Flash? Grrrrrrrrr. I hated that portrayal with the same rage the movies have tried to instill. Rewriting major characters only serves to alienate the existing fans and those are the people required to fill the theatres. Word travels quickly when you disappoint the fan base. I wish DC would enforce that future film endeavours be accompanied by a caveat that reading pre-Crisis DC is as essential as post-Crisis. What I'd love to see in a JLA movie? Something more along the lines of what you did, Alex, in your work on the group or even along the lines of Darwyn Cooke's New Frontier. I'm stepping down from my soapbox now
So Alex is basically protecting Geoff Johns and denouncing Snyder's version of Superhero characters for what reason we will never know 🙄🙄 when the Snyder cut his released everyone will realize how hardcore of a DC fan Zack Snyder really is

aside from a couple of new costume designs, New52 was literally the worst. it deconstructed every belovded superhero into a edgy 10 years old's wet dream. it was obviously the wrong inspiration for these movies
let's hope the new Suicide Squad movie will be good. James Gunn is taking a lot of inspiration from the 80s comics
The thing is every creator can come in and do what they want. You can dislike some and like others at the end of the day, none of them are wrong. Snyder picked the line up he wanted. The next guy will come in and do what he or she wants. The new 52 can be the inspiration for a universe if the director wants it to be. There are no restrictions.
@@ezra7692 it's trash tho but it's good if you love the new 52
@DCcomics give Alex Ross the money to make the movie kingdom come!
As beautiful as he paints.
This is a no brainer!
Yeah I really want to see his version in a movie the costumes look like cheap Halloween costumes like that 80s-90s fabric look I've always loved that about his art
I'm a Snyder fan and DC fan for 47 years. And I can say, he was sincere and honest. And I love his work as well.
This is how you fairly criticize something with out hate or throwing the creator under thr bus and bashing him. And he acknowledged that WB mistreated Snyder..And supported the fan's right to see it.
He was fair and sincere and I respect him for that...
I can watch him talk all day
I really would love to see how Alex Ross would do All the Doctor of Doctor Who from Hartnell on.
Even his Rogues
Alex Ross sums up my sentiment towards the JL movie perfectly.
THE JUSTICE LEAGUE CAST WE DESERVE:
Tom Welling as Superman
Jon Hamm as Batman
Katherine Heigl as Wonder Woman
Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern
Scott Porter as The Flash
Eric Dane as Aquaman
Isaiah Washington as Martian Manhunter
Zachary Levi as Captain Marvel
I know some of these are official castings but I'd still want to see them in something like a HBO MAX miniseries
Exactly! Thank you!
Very well said.
I know I would probably cry tears of joy if I were to see a close to _"realistic"_ CGI version¹ in the style of *Alex's* art.
••✸••
*¹* ─ Granted, it would likely require quite a bit of work to get the balance right between his art and the _"realism."_ And I would definitely want them to lean towards his art more.
Es grandioso que Alex no quiera quedar bien con nadie,el da su opinión tal y como es,lo cual refleja el sentir de muchos fans del cómic.
You're good artist Alex
How come there hasn’t been an animated Kingdom Come yet?
Meanwhile, Michael Blackson walks into the room. " What he's really saying"...
Well, Mr. Ross, your vision of JLA very much matches what I like.
It's funny.... the more Ross tries to be gentle and phrase his opinions diplomatically, the more he unintentionally eviscerates the Snyderverse.
Hey! He’s speaking facts
Sandy collora film ar near the style of máster Ross, and look amazing
I'm shocked by these comments. Listen it would be impossible to do. There's many other versions out there than Alex Ross versions. I'm sorry but it's true. If you do the versions, you always get something wrong and then the fans complain about one thing they didn't get right.. I'm glad DC is giving us movies with good actors playing the characters we love. Not everything has to be the Dark Knight.
very cool
I love you, man. 🤣✊🏾
I've always said CGI Kingdom Come is the way to go.
I think the reason the studio "pulled it back" was because of the reaction to and box office disappointment of BatmanVSuperman
@@dead0ntime Did nothing?? Dude watch again the ultimate cut and pay attention this time
"It's not really my bag."
Nope, neither. But it does deserve to be seen in all its it's intended glory, warts and all.
You're around my age, we're Super Friends babies!
Maestro alex
I think you love so much DC
So dont be afraid to say it.
From some time to now you start to talk and talk about marvel like if they payed you to.
So what you’re saying is you’re going to pitch a CGI kingdom come film?
That an awesome idea, transfer the characters through CGI into “real “ characters and make a movie with them. James Cameron knows how this works 😅
Pretty even handed assessment.
10000% agree with you!!!
WB & Disney should start adapting Alex Ross work immediately. What is wrong in this world
And yet, Zack Snyder‘s fans keep saying his movies are most comic book accurate. Ironic
hi alex and sal :]
Telling it like it is. I don’t like Snyderverse DC. It’s too dark and depressing. Everyone feels like Batman. But Snyder should finish his vision. As bad as it may or may not be
We've already got the Justice League animated series, no film version of the JL will top those.
I take his points about the tone and overall direction that Snyder was going for, but he's wrong about the casting, that was superb. Henry Cavill as Superman for example, looks ripped straight from a comic book panel.
Agreed
Zach Snyder's JUSTICE LEAGUE is going to be GreatNess I'm hyped I'm HI and I'm happy.......stayHI family
I'm stepping down from my soapbox now
🙌
Jim Carey would of been perfect as plastic man
So Alex is basically protecting Geoff Johns and denouncing Snyder's version of Superhero characters for what reason we will never know 🙄🙄 when the Snyder cut his released everyone will realize how hardcore of a DC fan Zack Snyder really is
@@davidmarrero9608 okay but does he understand there's a difference between what can correlate on screen and on paper?? There's a big difference.. Snyder's Aquaman for example he changed his hole look & on to his solo movie it made a billion $.. so I totally disagree with Alex
#RELEASETHEROSSCUT
"Bring the guy that did the Avengers films"????????? NO WAY!!! Bring Ross to design the JLA Movie (and give him FULL creative license), with Jenkins directing........!!!
Warner-DC SUCKS ........
