DeMarcus Ware Not Being in the Hall of Fame is Criminal

When DeMarcus Ware's name was not called for the 2022 Hall of Fame class during NFL Honors, many were shocked. He checked every single box to be considered a first ballot HOFer, and many thought he was a shoo-in. Here, I detail precisely why he should have been.

The only real argument for Ware not getting in on first ballot, he didn't win a Defensive MVP award. Majority of the first ballot HOFs on defense from recent classes have them: Charles Woodson, Troy Polamalu, Ray Lewis, and others. Perhaps, Ware should've won this award over Bob Sanders in 2007 and/or James Harrison in 2008?

Even though he was a Cowboy, and I hate them, Ware clearly should have been a first ballot HOF player. Every so often one of these incidents happens though, and Ware got screwed. Alan Page also didn't make it in as a first ballot player.

To add even more, going by era-adjusted sack rate (where rate is sacks divided by opponent pass plays faced - obviously not controlled for some variables, but it's free and we can look far into the past), Ware's prime (top 4 or 5 years) was among the top of all time (Don't have the exact data on me, on mobile rn). Even better than a certain feared LB who will not be named because people lose their minds if you even imply he isn't the single best edge rusher ever.
