If you dislike the Empire, you should dislike a lot of politics that people agree with, and go alongside each day. Many in the core worlds, as well as outer rim actually see it that way as well. Hence why until the destruction of Alderaan, they were a small fringe band. Due to the destruction of Alderaan, kind of a mistep for the Empire in the long run, the Rebels were able to spin that as their own undeniable propaganda. To each their own, but this saga is one part religious war, vs ideology war in which Good and Evil are honestly in all actualities just shades of grey in comparison to warcrimes in the past before the "Galactic Civil War" period, very tame in fact.
Damned terrorists attacking noncombat personnel transport without even signaling back. When the empire attacks you at least they make it abundantly clear what their intentions are upon coming into system.
There's so much subtle storytelling in this piece. The way the Star Destroyer jumps out right at the start, suggesting that it has Other Chores Today. The way that two TIE Vigilants are assigned to escort the shuttle--probably dispatched from the Star Destroyer to escort the shuttle to its rendezvous with six sentry ships from Lancer Base, and prepared to jump back into hyperspace and rejoin their carrier in a few minutes (or, perhaps they even transferred with the shuttle FROM Larsa to a deep space rendezvous with the ISD, and are simply completing their run and will return to their home planet after). Two of the regular TIEs break off to intercept and inspect the Convor, leaving the Vigilants to march on with their charge. The way the Corvette IMMEDIATELY shifts from stealth mode to full combat mode--turning guns and spewing ships in seconds. It's a perfect illustration of how Rebel hit-and-run tactics caused the Empire so much trouble--all in under five minutes of time.
I kinda get the point but for five minutes, taking into account the shuttle was transporting VIP's the ISD would not have left the area, that modified CR-90 woudl have been spotted way way sooner or if coming from hyperspace, an alert would alert the combat station, on top of that the station would probably decimate the corvette in seconds with the heavy turbolasers
@@yester8039 The ISD had stuff to do--it probably just picked them up as a convenience before moving on to its actual rendezvous. The shuttle met its escort fighters, which meant it was safe...it wasn't like a rebel corvette would be flying up through a storm on the surface orpretending to be an orbital satellite...and if there was one, it surely wouldn't be able to carry a bunch of fighters that would allow it to take out the fighter escort and strike at the shuttle.
@@yester8039 Lots of things in Star Wars take place at ridiculously close distances. Every single battle in the whole series is within modern jet fighter engagement range or closer. Star Wars is unfortunately dumb when it comes to such things, sacrificing logic for excitement. I like things that do both, for example The Expanse or BSG2003, but this is a fantastically done action scene within the Star Wars idiom.
I feel like this had to be the friendliest Imperial warning I've ever seen. Pretty sure your only warning is the one that you receive at your eulogy. This guy got like 10 warnings.
That launch kind of looks like babylon 5. Though hiding 8 fighters is a neat trick. Plus you don't have to recover them because they can jump too. Very novel.
Those specific TIEs you see are a fan-made variant called the TIE Vigilant made by EC Henry. He has a video if you want to check out the thought process that led to that design.
If Rogue One is the best you can think of, I would wager you are a young fellow. Look for the animated TIE Fighter clip. It is about seven minutes long.
@@billrich9722 I have seen it and its the best in terms of animation. Rogue One has the best CGI space battle in star wars. The sequels don't anything near as good as whats on this channel.
Beautifully done, thanks for posting! The stealth A-Wing bays, and their deployment was genius! You're now the third only (two from original source, though I don't know if they are considered canon, or been relegated to Legends status) known pocket carrier for a CR90, but yours still looks like a stock corvette
Loved this. The moment I saw the A-wings, I realized, "Those TIEs are doomed!" A-wings are, by my understanding, one of the strongest fighters the Alliance can field---X-wings might be the most iconic, Y-wings might be the most resilient, but A-wings are where it's at!
The A-Wings make great recon vessels as well as interceptors. Few can outmatch their speed. Overall definitely a strong craft. But the B-Wing probably has the most actual firepower, which is one of my personal favorites.
The A-Wings were the first rebel fighters with them originally having quite strong armour and cannons but later in the war they were stripped down for more speed
The most dangerous and feared fighter are actually the X-wings since it is strong in any situation while A-wings are really strong in a dogfight but weak when dealing with larger ships.
Solid looking character models, a Golan space station, great voice acting, amazing A-wing launch system and against all odds the Gozanti-class is still trying it's best. A fine upload indeed.

You did better in these three minutes, than Disney did over years and multiple movies. Thank you for this amazing work. Corvette that launches A-Wings and has small superlasers? How cool was that ish
Wow this 3 minute sequence was better than that entire bomb run scene in Disney's movie. We all remember that retarded scene - the bombs "dropped down" onto the target - as if there was gravity in space. Not to mention if those bombers moved any slower the pilot might as well get out and push. Sad they had a hundred million dollar budget and YOUR 3 minute sequence was FAR more exciting. We want more! 😍
@@lillyanneserrelio2187 that and the tactics basic sense in this engagement. everything in the Disney trilogy comes off like people who don't know basics of military strategy or basic starwars Lore.

@@lungrisser Basically a Corvette designed to KILL ships bigger than it. While not the most well armored or shielded of ships, it still causes a lot of pain for single patrol ships or hit and fade runs like this
You guys really get the look of practical effects nailed. Even the explosions are reminiscent of the blue screen effects from the original trilogy. Thanks so much for what you do.
While I've always found "miniaturized-superlasers" (as also seen on the Republic gunships and the B-wings in Rebels) to be a rather cheesy addition to the canon, this is still incredibly well done and better than anything Disney has put out. Beyond the actual work itself, it just captures the right OT feel as well. Awesome job! EDIT: I notice the TIE fighters are a bit different. Perhaps specially equipped with hyperdrives?
I was immensely pleased with the hotdrop A-wings but the super lasers were a disappointment, that ship's tonnage was already well above the Gozantis, and the corvettes all had a couple turbolasers if I recall correctly. It would have been an engaging fight. But with how effective the forward guns we're shown are, it gives the impression that the corvette could have easily taken on the station and that the battle was ended arbitrarily.
Personally, I love when Star Wars has Different Weapons. There's fifty thousand different cultures out there, and billions of celestial bodies that can all contribute some different resource or technological pathway. Give me Martian Heat Rays, Samus's arm cannon, phasers, rail guns, and that really cool spinny-rapid-fire-energy-beam-wheel from The Iron Giant...just tweak it a little to make it Star Wars, and maybe say "It requires Twizzlerite, which can only be made from the crystallized skeletons of this extinct species on this planet way over here." Handwave it to be that it's just too impractical to mass produce, or too unreliable for military service.
@@thenowhereman8154 The station had yet to scramble its fighters--the Rebels wanted a precision strike and assassination mission, not planetary conquest. Unleashing their full firepower cleared a path for them to vector onto a hyperspace jump and be out less than a minute after engaging. Get in, hit your target, get out. No holding back... Also, the Golan station's shields, armor, and weaponry were FAR beyond what the Atgar weapons would have been able to match. They could have disrupted a few decks, maybe, but the return fire would have ravaged the Convor.
I honestly don't see why turbolasers aren't ditched for miniaturized super lasers. Wouldn't it be more ideal for the warships in Star Wars to carry the same amount of guns as the gun only warships that came before guided missiles, than to carry the same load out as age of sail warships?
This fan film REALLY hits home exactly how fast and devastating Rebel hit-and-run strikes could be. The whole attack, from the first shot fired until the Rebels jump back into hyperspace, lasts literally one minute. Watching this, it's easy to understand how even though the Rebels were vastly outnumbered and outgunned by a superior enemy, they could still be a fearsome foe.
Aside from slightly janky character animation, which is understandable noting how hard it is to get past that uncanny valley feel, the ships and lighting were fucking gorgeous, good job!
Amazing! The angle on that A-wing launch gave me a rollercoaster drop thrill. And those lasers look like refurbished tributary beam cannons like those seen on Republic SPHA-T tanks and LAAT gunships. I can totally see the Alliance repurposing them for space warfare. Keep up the amazing work, all of ya!
It's actually the CR110 from youtuber ECHenry who found it in like 2 background shots in episode 6. He made this full beautiful 3D model, and came up with some fun little headcannon since Star wars IP essentially forgot this amazing ship
An exceptionally well produced short. I could quibble about the corvette having a form of beam weaponry that doesn't exist in SW canon, but it was all so professionally put together that I wouldn't dream of it. 😉 Seriously, though, congratulations on some truly excellent work. ❤
The corvett here is a fan interpritation of a background ship in ROTJ called the cr-110 by fans. its a bit bigger in some dimensions so they had fun adding their own specifications and firepower to it.
This feels like it's borrowing from some of the Empire at War mods too, I know Awakening of the Rebellion has added a fair number of composite beam cannons recently
What is so impressive to me about your work is the fact that you are able to produce such high quality animations and a fair amount of footage in such a short amount of time (at least a relatively short time by industry standards). I always pictured the Corvette as something like a PT/submarine in WW2. Small, stealthy, but hard hitting. My head canon had them hanging around Imperial jump points waiting to pounce on cargo ships. And occasionally an ISD might come within range of a barrage of torpedoes before the Corvette jumps out.

If you dislike the Empire, you should dislike a lot of politics that people agree with, and go alongside each day. The success of the Empire and its propaganda, like all real life nations use today...would have the average person believe the Rebel are terrorists.
When the beams came out all I could think was "Exsquidaly-fucking-scuse me?". Amazing work.
This is the most exciting SW film I've seen since the prequels came out , nice job
WOOOT! Go Rebels!
Well done on the animation! Really enjoyed watching those A-Wings hot drop from a CR Corvette. Epic.
Thanks Shack! We should definitely try to get that Corvette in an Empire at War mod, right?
Eh seems i need to sign new contracts with the Reb... the Republic later...
For the rebellion!
Hey shack. Funny seeing you here.
Also, have you see EC henry's video on this thing?
Damned terrorists attacking noncombat personnel transport without even signaling back. When the empire attacks you at least they make it abundantly clear what their intentions are upon coming into system.
That A-Wing launch sequence and the dual laser blast scene were both so incredible!!! Absolutely loved it!!!
What? Pow pow your dead and lets escape... oooh deep story telling... are you 9 yrs old?
@@justinmorgan2126 There’s no need to be a jerk about it. Just move on if you don’t like it.
I love how you managed to depict CR90 as an absolute menace. The way it slowly rolls makes it look like an aquatic predator chasing its prey.

I got chills when the A-Wings launched...amazing work! Immediately recognized that CR110 and those Guard TIEs from ECHenry - nice touches.
That launch kind of looks like babylon 5. Though hiding 8 fighters is a neat trick. Plus you don't have to recover them because they can jump too. Very novel.
Made me think of Battlestar Galactica.
- IIRC that had 'trojan horse'-like scene laugnching fighters
The power beams of the corvette looked very much like Babylon 5 too :)!

Loved the little wedges on the back of the TIE cockpits - just like the die-cast and mini-figure TIEs back in the day 👍
Those specific TIEs you see are a fan-made variant called the TIE Vigilant made by EC Henry. He has a video if you want to check out the thought process that led to that design.
It's where they keep the hyperdrive. :)
I was just watching a video about that. Some of the background TIEs in Empire Strikes back were literally off-the-shelf toys.
I have no seen a space battle this good since rogue one.
@@fullfrontal2860 Yeah, it's sad, isn't it? We got three Sequels and the best Wars among the Stars was in R1, which wasn't even about space battles.

Beautifully done, thanks for posting!
The stealth A-Wing bays, and their deployment was genius! You're now the third only (two from original source, though I don't know if they are considered canon, or been relegated to Legends status) known pocket carrier for a CR90, but yours still looks like a stock corvette
Masterpiece, please make us a full-length.
Those TIE fighters moved so gracefully. Liked the addition of TIE Vigilants too nice touch.
Loved this. The moment I saw the A-wings, I realized, "Those TIEs are doomed!" A-wings are, by my understanding, one of the strongest fighters the Alliance can field---X-wings might be the most iconic, Y-wings might be the most resilient, but A-wings are where it's at!
It’s the fastest rather than most powerful. Different fighters for different roles really
Boom and zoom's the name of the game!
I love these smaller space battles. The models are nice, the effects are clean, and the sounds are accurate. What more could you ask for?
That audio was CRISP🖤
The Prodigal Child returns! I was getting worried that you stopped your content. Now we just need a new video from Howard Day :)
The A wing deployment and, dare I say it here, “the forward phaser array” were nice touches. That is what is needed.
Good job.
What was that, by the way?
I never knew a Corellian Corvette had that much firepower!!!

Wilhelm scream, love it! And everything about the film too
You did better in these three minutes, than Disney did over years and multiple movies. Thank you for this amazing work. Corvette that launches A-Wings and has small superlasers? How cool was that ish
💯
Those were my exact same thoughts. 🚀⚡️
Rebels had a Pelta-class corvette that launched A-Wings as well.
I saw the blue engines and I went "Wait, is that a--???"
And then I saw the front of the corvette and screamed "IT IS!!!"
Then I spent several points saying "Do the Atgar thing! DO THE ATGAR THING!"
And when it did the Atgar Thing, I was STILL not prepared for how amazing it would be.
what is the Atgar thing?
@@lungrisser that Corvette is a fan design by EC Henry. It's based on a different silhouette of a corellian looking Corvette in the background of episode 6. It is called the CR 110. Watch his video on it it's very interesting
Pretty sure the TIEs were these ones: th-cam.com/video/aYpbVrXFSqQ/w-d-xo.html
This is at least 100 time better than the entire Sequel trilogy combined.
This was fantastic, great work!!
Keep up the amazing work, all of ya!
holy crap that was good. stunning visuals and gripping action! the lasers were just badass
To those of you wondering, that is NOT in fact a CR-90 corvette, but rather a CR-110 from the work of the magnificent EC Henry!
Loved the addition of animated character models delivering dialogue instead of only voiceovers, they looked and moved great too!
epic. wasn't expecting the A Wings drop and the Death Star lasers. nice. very nice.
Great work guys!!
That shot with the camera attached to the a-wing? So perfecto! *Chef kiss*
Amazing work, seeing a CR110 do it's thing is always great.
CR90 modified into a full fledged attack ship and not just an armed civilian freighter. Nice! 👌
It's actually the CR110 from youtuber ECHenry who found it in like 2 background shots in episode 6. He made this full beautiful 3D model, and came up with some fun little headcannon since Star wars IP essentially forgot this amazing ship
The CR90 was never an armed freighter. You're thinking of the Millennium Falcon being an armed civilian YT-1300 light freighter.
Those A-wings coming out from underneath the corvette gave me goosebumps. SkyForge, you and EC Henry should be hired by Lucasfilm some day!
This was the coolest piece of fan-made Star Wars content I have ever seen. Short, simple, and very engaging. Instantly one of my favorites.
So frickin cool! Using a corvette as a carrier for A wings!
An exceptionally well produced short. I could quibble about the corvette having a form of beam weaponry that doesn't exist in SW canon, but it was all so professionally put together that I wouldn't dream of it. 😉
Seriously, though, congratulations on some truly excellent work. ❤
I'm amazed. You're getting better with every single one of these.
One might say you are on the verge of greatness.
Awesome. Didn't know corvettes had those kind of lasers.
Linking this to all my nerd friends.
I was really impressed by the piolets that were animated, I thought they were actors for a second. They voice acting wasn't too shabby either. I can only imagine what this channel would create if it had access to the resources of a major studio. Overall, really enjoying your content and hope to see more in the future
“They won’t get past us!” Gets absolutely obliterated
My favourite thing is that you used the old explosion effects, that they used at the first few episodes of the original triology! And was verry fun to watch, expetialy the A wing dropout scene!
Amazing, loved the A wings deploying. Reminds me of the Galactica from BSG

Ok look, here's what's refreshing about this. First, the director's attention to detail, including the opening music starting after "a long time ago..." Second, A-wings are an interceptor class, and that's what they did here, and that's freakin awesome. Third, the Rebels actually win a fight, pay attention Abrams. And fourth? Pfft. Nose cannons, nuff said.

Yep. The rebels didn't last so long without being able to win a fight. The Empire wouldn't even bother to hunt them down if they were really so incompetent.

Wow that was one sweet surprise after another! I felt immersed in the story right away. loved the A-wing launch, and the modified tie and corvette. Definitely the kind of strategy you'd expect the rebels to use! Great out of the box thinking!👏
Exactly how I pictured them in use.
Wow ! THAT´s what you call a hit-and-run guerilla attack !
I love the hit and run feel. It’s so perfect for the rebel tactics
