Thank you so much. This is my current situation with my Chevy Equinox 2016 that happened today. I panicked and rushed to a local repair shop for a diagnostic and got a quote for $800 to replace the ABS module 🥲🥲. My heart dropped from that shocker. So I resorted to Googling the issue and your TH-cam video popped up for the reset trick so I will definitely try that in the morning. If not, I will refer back to this specific video for additional help. Thank you tons. I will post an updated comment if all is successful either way.🙏🏾

Great presentation. The control circuits on these ABS systems are typically low voltage, low amperage, which means you need to check the ABS Module grounds after you check the fuses, or check the separate voltage values either at the wheels yourself, or the voltages coming into the ABS module while a second person helps you by spinning each separate wheel one-at-a-time, but at a uniform rate. As I understand these systems, the interaction between magnetic part of the sensor assembly and the notches in the rotating wheel on the hub assembly generates the voltage measured as the wheel turns. Trucks are usually exposed to harsher conditions than cars, and exposure of the wheel sensors and connectors to water, sea water at the beach, salted roads, etc. over the years can result in degraded sensors at the wheels, or poor or corroded grounds or bad connections where the system wires connect to the push-on or screw-on connectors. Any of these issues can cause voltage variations that prevent the ABS system from knowing whether or not all 4 wheels are rotating at substantially the same speed, and if the signals aren't the same, the ABS light comes on. The profit margin between replacing the ABS Module and the sensors and sensor wiring on 4 wheels and bleeding or replacing the brake fluid is about $1,000 to 1,500 more than doing the checks he recommended, plus checking the grounds. The ABS module can be replaced with a new one, if necessary, without replacing the valves it is attached to, but it is likely it will have to be re-programmed for your specific vehicle. Programming Specs are often available online, but require special equipment. The alternative is sending a defective ABS module to a specialty shop which can repair the old one, and do any required programming. Costs vary, but usually much cheaper than having a new one programmed and installed - unless you have a shop that does this locally, it can take about ten days to send it and get it back, due to shipping times. P.S. The white illuminated board you have behind you in your videos is interesting, but it leaves your face in the shadows. Viewers like to see faces; something for you to consider.

Thank you, thank you and thank you for making the comments on having a secondary support for a jacked up vehicle. I see so many vids of people working under a vehicle with only one hydraulic support. Especially do not trust a hydraulic jack. My engineer dad and military training drilled this into me for years. It is a golden rule of working on heavy items. Thanks for the info education on abs symptoms and possible causes creating abs light on dash. I'm trying to determine if the mechanic that told me my abs pump is failing is correct or not where as they said my coolant leak was coming from heater coil gear assembly but wasn't case and I paid $500 for that to be replaced and installed then that evening my abs light came on. I've bn spending money on repairing front suspension system. Have yet to replace engine mounts, brakes, and rear suspension as well as tires brakes and then eventually replace interior seating, steering wheel and center console gear shifter and compartment ..
Good morning, you are very welcome. ABS pump failure is not uncommon however if vehicle is less than 10 years old…it’s unlikely that the pump has failed. It may be as simple as a speed sensor however without hooking up OBD2 scanner, we can’t confidently say. Having a scanner will help pinpoint the exact part causing your issue.
2009 Dodge caliber 2.0 ABS light came on. Lifted front end up and ran it to 50 mph and listened for bad bearing. Sounded fine both sides. Checked each back tire and turned by hand and all seemed fine for noise. Grabbed each tire and wiggled and evrything seems tight. Asked my son about the tire pressure and found that all the tires were at 25 to 27 psi. Filled all tires to 33 psi and we took it for a run. Guess what the abs light went out. Completely surprised me. Check your air pressure of the tires first. It was a very simple fix............................................
Thanks for watching & we really appreciate you sharing this. That can definitely do it. This is great advice. Welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together. 😎👍🔧🔩
Awesome information/tutorial, the only observation I want to make is that not all abs systems are the same there are different cars that have different abs systems.

Great video. Very clear and concise. I have a 2009 F 250 and my ABS light comes on intermittently. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern to it. The brakes are working fine without the ABS. I bought a Blue driver scanner and I’m getting code C1096 Pump Motor Open Circuit. I’m going to dive in on this next week, but was wondering if because it is intermittent, do you have any insights?
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Let’s try something. We recommend filling all four of your tires back up to its proper psi. See if this registers & runs off ABS light. Keep us posted. Enjoy your night! 😎👍🔧🔩
Absolutely, just another useless invention to screw money out of us. Abs light can come on but there's nothing wrong with wheel rotation, it's all down to a damaged or failed senser or it's associated parts.
Yep. I’m 18 my car’s ABS has been out for three months now, best believe I’m not buying a new abs motor/pump for $200 if you can drive with it you can drive without it
Just installed the wrong bearing on a 2003 element awd and it has abs now I have the abs light on but even before that I had it on, and before that I was borrowing my brother's 1976 vw bug...we definitely don't need abs we need people being are of how to drive the car properly. I've seen people with abs hydroplane or crash even with the abs engaged. Abs doesn't fix idiots
I could argue there’s FAR more than 4 causes of an ABS malfunction. Caliper pistons, low brake fluid level/fluid leak, intermittent connectivity with either power or ground wires, low battery voltage, bent rims or fix-a-flat, the abs module might need re-calibration, bad MAF or MAP or crank or cam sensors….the list goes on and on and on…..it’s a sophisticated system.
Could you tell me why my ABS LIGHT CAME ON AFTER TAKING MY CAR IN FOR REPAIRS....THEY SAID THEY PUT ON A NEW SUPENSION RACK. PUT A FRONT GASKET ON......THEY ARGUE ITS MY WORD AGAINST THEIR MECHANIC.... MY LIGHT WASNT ON WHEN I TOOK IT IN
@@lajunecrockett2381 some ABS systems read sensors on the suspensions system as well. If that’s the case then every time the car is lifted off the ground the ABS light will turn on. Usually knowing which ABS code is causing the light to come on is the first step.
Brilliant bit of information. I had a passenger front sensor come up so it was replaced and one 15 minutes later after leaving the garage the ABS came on again and now it says the driver side rear sensor needs replacing. Could that be possible ? Or could it be the fuse or abs module ? Thanks
Can you tell if the magnetic ring should have magnets all around the ring? Because I replace the ABS sensor and watch that ring but it only had a few magnets... very good video by the way!
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. This will depend on the vehicle however almost all designs are of the ring magnet method. By chance have you had your vehicle hooked up to an OBD scanner to read your ABS codes? This will allow us to pinpoint the exact part that’s causing your ABS light to come on. Hi! Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge of vehicle repair with the world. My ABS light has been on (steady) since I had my tires replaced 3wks ago, getting ready for winter. For two days, the the ABS activates, showing a car skidding icon (on completely dry asphalt here) and the gas pedal loses pressure. It activates every time I have to start it up (minimum of 6x daily) and today it happened while I was facing oncoming traffic. Can you please tell me which of the 4 reasons explains the issue my 07' Lincoln Navigator L is having? Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Let’s get this figured out. You mentioned tire service recently. Believe it or not, low tire pressure can trigger ABS light. We recommend checking the sidewall of your tire for the proper psi and filling your tires to that psi. Go for a test drive and see if this turns off your ABS. Keep us posted, us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together! 😎👍🔧🔩
I had a blow out on Tuesday. I ended up replacing all tires. I have the same issue that you described. The gas pedal acts up once when I start the vehicle, then it is OK the rest of the drive. Did you get it figured out?
@@BatmanVMMA Thanks for watching & it’s very possible that your blown tire damaged an ABS sensor. We recommend having your ABS error codes read by an OBD scanner. This will help us pinpoint the exact part causing your issue. AutoZone will read error codes for 100% free. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@BatmanVMMA please can you update this thread when you check the codes given. Currently in EXACTLY same situation. Blown tires > tires replaced > then ABS light.
@@charleseke7341 I used a code reader and there was a code. I think it was C0055 or something like that. The code reader told me the rear passenger tire speed sensor something something... I forgot exactly what it said, but I cleared it and it hasn't come back on. When I inspected the sensor, the blow out rubbed off some of the plastic coating on the wiring. I used some shrink wrap stuff on it. Hope this helps.
PERFECT video! My Mitsubishi outlander 2010 is recently showing ABS light issue. It is coming on and off on the dashboard. When it is on, then ACS off light turns on. The car is running well so far, no brake issue whatsoever with ABS light on. I have driven 5K+ miles with ABS light on. I got P1773 and C2116 codes. How serious is that?
Wow just have to say. Props for trying to help as many people as possible in the comments. Like wow you’re amazing dude. If you’re still answering questions, I have one. So my car has had the traction light on for a bit, but sometimes when I’m driving, abs and break lights turn on. Also, my car just started moving the speed diameter up and down in the middle of driving. The car feels perfectly fine, but, kinda scare about this symptoms. Already took it too a shop, but they couldn’t fix the problem and I have nooo idea what it might be. I am willing to pay for a abs module but idk if that’ll be the problem
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Let’s get this figured out. A few things to do. 1. Verify all 4 tire pressure reading are set to manufacturers recommended psi. Believe it or not, low tire pressure can trigger abs in newer modern vehicles. 2. If you live in snowy areas, snow, ice, water, & moisture can sneak into abs sensor electrical connection points. This leads to abs turning on. In this case, disconnecting electrical connection and cleaning/drying will hopefully help. Let’s start there. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders thank you and yes. all tires are set to manufacturers specs. Also, idk when people say new because i have mostly owned old cars lol. The car having this problem is my 2012 Dodge Avenger and i live in Arizona where the lowest we get is 40F and a high of 118. So maybe the second step would be ruled out? or would you still recommend me checking it out? Also have switched most of the fuses in the fuze box. Now, i didnt touch those big square fuzes found in the box (sorry dont know the mechanic lingo lol)
@@MooseX2012 Thanks for the reply & is your ABS light illuminated on instrument cluster? If yes, you may want to visit your local AutoZone & have then read your ABS error codes. They do this for free. Obtaining the error codes will hopefully help pinpoint the part causing your issues.
Great video, I have a Ford explorer sport Trac 2008 and I recently replaced my tires of the vehicle and it recently started to turn on my abs light once I speed up to 15 mph, breaks work perfectly fine with no issue so I'm stumped as to why, I'm unsure if wheel unalignment may also have something to do with it.
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. You mentioned you just recently replaced tires. Believe it or not, it may be as simple as bringing your air pressure inside your tire up to the recommended max psi. Please keep us posted.
Thank you. Great video. My old honda odyssey recently showed an ABS light on along with other lights. After stopping at traffic light, my car won't accelerate when pressing the gas pedal. Do you think that would be the only problem? What would be the expected cost to repair each individual issue vs changing the whole ABS unit together? Here in CA prices can vary so much, price gouging is so common. I recently brought a 2013 escalade to the shop and they told me my rotor and axel in the back wheels have to be replaced, and I paid $6.5K for it. I am scared to bring my car to any mechanic worrying they are going to ask me to pay $2K for this issue.
Greaat Great video........... I love youtube - SO educational. This Video was concise clear sooo helpful. Thank you to all you guys/gals for educating the rest of us.
Hi, I would like to suggest another possible cause of ABS light on, brake light switch. At least it was true for my 95 GMC truck, after going through every possible cause without any result, by changing brake light switch it went away. In fact the faulty of my break light switch showed no problem with my actual brake lights, they worked fine, but it had caused ABS malfunctioning as well as problems with my ignition switch, control module and some other electrical problem as well. By changing that part, all my troubles got resolved, I thought it's worth mentioning my experience here.
Good morning ☕️ We are honored you took the time to share your experience and what solved issue for your GMC. Awesome job continuing your DIY project to diagnose the cause. Thanks again, much appreciated. 👍
Most fuse / relay blocks have a fuse pulling / insertion tool tucked away somewhere. Hard tools can easily break the fuse. But a great, easy video to follow. Thanks
Much easier to use needle nose pliers, very carefully as stated. Those little tools don't always work they great - especially in tight quarters. Use what works best for you.
Great video. Based on comments here and elsewhere, it seems almost inevitable a mechanic or dealership tells you it is the module, big ticket item which is the problem. You want to get a kick? Next time you talk to the guy at the service desk, work into the conversation how you have researched your problem on YT and then look at their reaction. It's facial because they don't respond verbally.

Hello & thanks for such great videos. I have a situation where my 2005 Colorado goes into "Reduced Power" and then shows the message "Traction Fault". Would you happen to know anything about this? I have gone to soo many places & dealers & they can't figure it out because they can't replicate the situation because it only happens randomly. So when it happens, I get stranded for a few minutes, I shut it off, wait a few minutes and then I'm able to get going again. Question. My 1992 LT1 Corvette , has a problem. For the life of me I cannot spin or smoke my tires. The emergency brake warning light is always on. So I checked The brake fluid which is full,I changed all four of the brake pads on the entire car and the light is still on I also checked the wheel sensors some of them had rust buildup on them but I cleaned them going back in so why the hell cant I spend the tires on a Corvette. What is the use of owning a Corvette if you can’t smoke the tires that’s my problem I’ve been building dragon jeans for my older cars but I can’t figure out the brake light is unbelievable but he’s got an idea what it is let me know because I don’t see nothing on TH-cam about it I even called the dealership and they won’t tell me they want me to bring the car in to take my money that shit ain’t going to happen. Great video. Is it possible for the ABS moduel to go bad and need to be replaced without the need to replace the speed sensors or the exciter magnetic rings?
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders.Mike Thanks for your reply. I need your help in understanding what is going on with my car and truly be thankful for your input. I have a 2012 Hundai Sonota. A few weeks ago Bunch of engin lights including ABS light (intermittently) were coming on. I took it to a Hundai dealer to have it checked. They told me this is electrical related issue and to diagnose the issue it will cost me $180. I agreed. After a few days their service called and said they have checked all the components that they thought could be causing this but haven't been able to pinpoint it and need to do further diagnostic work and it will cost me more money to do that. I agreed. After a few days they called and said they have determined the cause for this issue is a bad ABS moduel ...the cost will be 500 for diagnostic wk + $1300 to replace it. I agreed. I Had no other choice!! They called me yesterday and said they have installed the new ABS moduel and all engin lights except for the ABS is gone. They said that they have checked everything and found one of the wheel sensor is messed up and it is likely that this is what has created the issue with the ABS moduel in the first place!!! So they are replacing the bad wheel sensor as well. Mike, at this point, I am having a hard time accepting the accuracy of their initial diagnosis and don't know what to do. My question is can the messed up wheel sensor be the actual culprit to begin with and that the ABS moduel was never bad and didn't need to be replaced at all? Or can they both go bad? Or can a bad wheel sensor as they have told her damage the ABS moduel. Don't mechanic use an advanced OBD2 reader that can pinpoint weather it is ABS moduel or speed senors? I feel like if the ABS was never faulty they should not be charging me the $1300 for replacing it and only charge me for replacing the bad wheel sensor. What do you think? Also, if one wheel sensor is bad, should I replace all 4 sensors now.
@@meshkatassian8946 We are honored to help and that’s a bummer that you have had to experience this in recent days and weeks. To answer your question, yes 100%! It is 100% possible that a faulty wheel speed sensor can trigger the ABS light. To answer your question further about if the speed sensor can be the original culprit while the ABS module still good…Yes, it is possible that your original ABS module was A-ok and not faulty however we can’t personally confirm that…but…it is more common for a speed sensor to fail and trigger the ABS light…as opposed to the module failing. Hope this help. 🧰
Thanks Mike... It is so heart warming to get your input... As I have said earlier, The shop is telling me that the ABS moduel was faulty that is why it was replaced. In addition they say that the messed up wheel sensor is what has caused the ABS moduel to go bad!!! Mike, Can a bad wheel sensor as they have told me (damage) the ABS moduel? Don't mechanic use an advanced OBD2 reader that can pinpoint whether it is ABS moduel or speed senors? Or both? What can I asked the mechanics to show me to assure me that the original ABS moduel was indeed faulty and needed to be replaced? I feel now that they have replaced the $1000 ABS moduel they are trying to justify their repair work by saying that the messed up sensor has damaged the moduel!!!
@@meshkatassian8946 Thanks for the reply, we are always happy to help. Will a speed sensor ultimately cause an ABS module to fail…it’s possible…however we have never heard of that happening…🤔 We don’t know all the ins-and-outs of what the shop diagnosed and because of that…can’t give you a definite answer. But again, we have never seen a wheel speed sensor being the sole pinpointed culprit of an ABS module failure. 🧰
@@dracony7649 Good morning ☕️ any update? It’s possible that the lighting for that indicator has burnt out however that is very uncommon and not likely the case. We recommend disconnecting the black negative cable from your battery and leaving disconnected for a minimum of five minutes. This will allow your system to perform a full electrical system reset. After five minutes, resecure black negative cable to battery and check electrical system by turning the key on, followed by starting the engine. This reset will hopefully remove any electrical glitches or malfunctions within the system and get your computer back to proper in normal configuration.
Don’t forget about BUS problems! All sensors, fuses and modules can be good but a bus / electrical issue is always possible. Can test that issue through testing for power through you’re harness or splice packs!

Thank you for this video. I have a unique problem that has stumped 3 mechanics and at least 2 really good computer coders.. My truck (2008 Chevy Express 1500 Cargo Van) had a problem that was traced to the throttle body harness. It was crimped. Replaced and 4 new tire sensors as well. Problem I experienced was check engine light and van putt'd & sputtered. Towed to mechanic and above fixes. Since then (3 months) intermittent ABS/Emergency brake light comes on and stays on for either a couple hours or all day. I have since noticed the check engine light periodically coming on at the same time. It eventually goes out, as do the other 2 lights. Today, I had to be towed. The van was showing signs of putt'n & sputtering while sitting idle. All the lights mentioned were on. My last stop I noticed the van felt as if it wanted to surge slightly while in gear and brakes applied. The speedometer was fluctuating up and down as well. Once under power the check engine light started flashing and I lost power. After shutting engine off and starting again...check engine light solid. Once under power for less than 1 minute...check engine light began flashing and loss of power. Mechanic is stumped. Any chance you've encountered this situation? Kim D.

2006 Toyota Highlander 3.3L gas. I'm having an ABS issue, which I was told by my mechanic, that the first step is to replace the abs module. I'm getting the following codes C1223, U0073, U0123, U0124, U0126, C0371, and C1281 I can't find anyone that will rebuild my abs module. I understand they are extremely expensive at the dealer and I believe they are discontinued. I thought about buying a used one, but I don't know where to get it reprogrammed. I heard the dealers don't reprogram them unless it's a new one. Does anyone know where I can get it rebuilt? Oh by the way, the issue that started all of this was the day after bought it. It drove fine at the dealership and the next day, i was on a busy road and all of a sudden it lost power while accelerating and I would have to push the accelerator down all the way just for it to move 10 mph. The abs lights came on and the traction control as well. I'd appreciate any advice. The shady dealership told me I had a 1 week/1000 mile warranty that if ANY THING went wrong that they'll fix it. I called them and they said to look at my paperwork that I bought it as is and they refused to help me in any way. I did take them to court and won. I received a full refund and I was able to keep the car for free, minus the $750 I had to pay an attorney.

Thank you for the clear video, precise explanation & minimal theatrics 👌. I am based in South Africa and attempting to resolve a 2 year long problem. Vehicle is a 2005 Renault Megane 225 bhp Sport. ABS light came on , with concomitant loss of traction control, speedometer, cruise control. At the time , OBD revealed only right front abs still active. New Rotors with pressed wheel bearings having abs magnetic strip AND new ABS sensors have been fitted. OBD scans all show front right abs still active, the other 3 not. Can a 4-channel abs module fail on 3 channels ? What other possible causes should I be looking for ?

Hi, Is I disconnect the connector on my original abs module, and then I reconnect the connector for only cleaning contacts on the abs module must I reprogramming with vcds or not ?
@@massimopica5008 Thanks for watching, some model vehicles will require it however not all. I have Ford Focus showing 2 ABS sensor errors. Testing the plugs, 2 are 12v, 2 are 9v. The wire from ABS module to sensors are in tact and i tested they carry 12v. So the ABS module is outputting 9v. Is it likely the electrics in the Module or something else? Maybe fuse box?
I turned off my car after getting 4 lights on it and when i turned it back on all the lights were gone (including abs). Could rain cause something like this to happen?
Thanks for watching, rain can definitely lead to trapped moisture inside a wheel speed sensor. That’s up there with the top common cause issue that triggers ABS light to illuminate.

Hello, thanks for the good video. Is it possible for the ABS module to work with only one speed sensor? Actually, I am a student and I want to present the operation of ABS with a single tire and a brake unit using a single speed sensor.
Thanks for watching and without the speed sensor, the ABS module will still communicate with the other wheel sensors and operate as designed. Most vehicles will still have a built in safety feature that allows ABS to engage on all wheels however the one with faulty sensor will behave sporadically.
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Actually, I have created a project with single wheel and break assembly, and demonstrated the ABS module on a board, normal break is okay but anti skid not working, so i am stuck now. I want to ask is it necessary for ABS module to get all four sensor inputs to operate? Or we can use single sensor, or can we divide the output of speed sensor to four inputs for ECU??

Ran into video and I’m in desperate need of advice. I’ve got a 2006 gmc savanna 3500 it’s not a van it’s a U-Haul truck I’ve been been through 3 transmission and every last one has gone bad. I did notice one thing when they put my 2nd one in my ABS and emergency light came on and my speedometer stop working it’s bottom out to 0mph there has been time where I’ve pass by a pot hold and it’ll trigger something and make it work again but it’ll only reach to 40mph and dye again. I’ve also notice that when the abs and the break light doesn’t appear on my dash the transmission shifts good my question to you is you think it’s the abs module? Can it trigger transmission to act up?
@@sanchezerick8377 Thanks for watching, any update? That’s a bummer you have been through two transmissions already and onto your third. Hopefully the electrical wiring for your speedometer was not damaged during one of the transmission swaps. This will allow your system to perform a full reset.
Thanks for watching, unfortunately that will begin to trigger many additional fault codes that will lead you to think additional parts have failed when they are still working…leading to components degrading and lessening the overall performance/reliability of vehicle. Hello! Thank you for the informative video! I have a problem with my 09 Colorado. The ABS light comes on showing traction fault error but when that happens, the blower shuts off (no hot air), as well as my signal lights and wipers. It happened as soon as it got below zero degrees, so I assumed it was because of ice buildup on a sensor etc. But even the mechanic has no clue why it affects the signal lights, blower fan and wipers, other than a faulty computer, and it would not allow him to access the codes to find the source. Do you have any ideas? Thanks!
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Any update? It can be a few things however the best move from here is to have it hooked up to an OBD scanner for code reading. AutoZone will do this for 100% free and this will allow us to pinpoint the exact part causing your issues. Like other vehicles, a faulty part can trigger multiple fault codes so it’s important to get a proper and reliable code reading from a scanner. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders hello again! I had it hooked up to multiple OBD scanners but my computer was not allowing access to the scanner. I recently pulled the ABS fuse to see if that would stop the issue. However while driving on the highway the fault light reappeared, and I lost wipers, lights, blower, signals, etc. Does the fact that this occured without the ABS fuse narrow down any possibilities for you? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🤘
@@Vballnut2117 Thanks for the update, since multiple items are giving sporadic behaviors, kinda sounds like you have an electrical shortage...🤔 You may have a loose connection or ground somewhere within the system. These are tough to find and take patients as you look through the wiring feeding off your fuse box & feeding through vehicle to wheel wheels where ABS wiring & sensors are. Also, you may just have a loose fuse. Verify that all of your fuses in your fuse box (both inside engine compartment as well as inside your car down by the pedals to the left side) are fully pressed in & secured. If you are still experiencing issues, we can’t rule out that your ABS sensors are possibly wet and sending sporadic signals to computer.
Do you think covering the connector in the wheel well with grease would do any good to help protect it from moisture. Seems like a bad place for them to put it
Hi, I own a Ford Escape 2009 2.5 engine FWD and appears the ABS and TCS light on. I scanned and shows the B2900 code, In my understanding it means that the ABS VIN module doesn't match with the mean computer. According to the shop it needs to reprogram but is too expensive. I have a basic scan and I can delete that code but when start again the vehicle appears again. So, the specific question, do exist any alternative method to correct o delete this? As a comment, I checked the 4 wheel sensors and looks good. Thank you from Chihuahua Mexico.
Thanks for watching Luis, you can start by a simple reset by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. It doesn’t work, module reprogram might be best.

It was a very simple fix............................................

for over 50 years cars operated without abs . we don't need it Ralph Nader.
Absolutely, just another useless invention to screw money out of us. Abs light can come on but there's nothing wrong with wheel rotation, it's all down to a damaged or failed senser or it's associated parts.
Yep. I’m 18 my car’s ABS has been out for three months now, best believe I’m not buying a new abs motor/pump for $200 if you can drive with it you can drive without it
It put my car in limp mode so I need it lol
I recently bought a car and bypassed the ABS system and now the brakes are working better than when I got it 😊
Just installed the wrong bearing on a 2003 element awd and it has abs now I have the abs light on but even before that I had it on, and before that I was borrowing my brother's 1976 vw bug...we definitely don't need abs we need people being are of how to drive the car properly.

Brilliant bit of information. I had a passenger front sensor come up so it was replaced and one 15 minutes later after leaving the garage the ABS came on again and now it says the driver side rear sensor needs replacing. Could that be possible ? Or could it be the fuse or abs module ? Thanks

Wow!? My tire is quite low on air

It could be an electrical issue. You may have a loose connection…we recommend inspecting any and all electrical connections and fuses related to ABS system as well as the Traction Control system.
You might even have a part in its early stages of failure…which because of this…the part itself is working intermittently. Please keep us posted.

@@meshkatassian8946
We are honored to help and that’s a bummer that you have had to experience this in recent days and weeks.
@@meshkatassian8946
Thanks for the reply, we are always happy to help.
Will a speed sensor ultimately cause an ABS module to fail…it’s possible…however we have never heard of that happening…🤔
We don’t know all the ins-and-outs of what the shop diagnosed and because of that…can’t give you a definite answer.
But again, we have never seen a wheel speed sensor being the sole pinpointed culprit of an ABS module failure.

Mine was that a wire got cut off while jacking up a tire…if this happens to your after fixing a tire just check for cut wire behind that tire
Thanks for sharing this, that’s interesting, and awesome job pinpointing that to be the cause.

hey this was a very simple and informative video. I also have a question, recently the abs and brake lights lit up on the dashboard and I did a computer check but I couldn't seem connect to the control module. Is it possible that the module itself is damaged or is it some wiring issue or any other. Love to hear your thoughts on this.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders I am having the same issue as the gentleman stated above. 2009 F150...I recall all of the lights appearing prior to or not long after having my front right wheel hub assembly replaced @ 80.000 miles. Hopefully it’s just the new wheel speed sensor that came with the assembly (aftermarket) and not the actual module or pump. I still have the original sensor however. First I’ll do as you kindly suggested and retrieve those codes. Thank you for taking the time to make share good informative content. Liked and subscribed.

Great work dude!
But u have a question..
What are those 6 brake lines for?
Where do they connect?
And why only 6 brake lines in ABS
Manisha Kushwaha
Thanks for watching & these hard lines feed brake fluid throughout the system to all related parts including all wheel brakes & Master Cylinder. We hope the video helped.
😎👍🔧🔩
There's 2 lines coming from the master cylinder into, feeding, the abs system. The other 4 leave out of the abs and go to each individual wheel.
I do have an 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme S 3.1 & my ABS light does come on & done the RESET which I seen ,but all it does is to lock the doors, however when I put the car in drive that's when it'll come on again

Can you possibly help with my 2006 dodge 1500??? for some reason my emergency brake light and my ABS light are coming on at the same time. How is it that i can be driving down the road and my E-brake light and ABS light comes on at the same time?? great videos btw!

Thanks for watching. Let’s get this figured out. 1st... we recommend checking your brake fluid reservoir quantity. In the event that your brake fluid is low, it can set off the alerts to your onboard computer. Adding the proper brake fluid to your reservoir and bringing the fluid level back up to within its proper fill parameters may solve your issue.
Let’s start there, keep us posted. Us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together!

06 Ram 1500 2wd-Dude my ABS & Brake light have been on for like 3 years now lol It drives me crazy bcuz I can't figure out the issue. I've replaced the rear abs sensor on the differential & front wheel hub bearing. The front one sensor on the wheel hub bearing did fix my speedometer not working but the ABS & Brake light stay on at all times when truck is running. Also, I did change the brake fluid reservoir since there is a senor built into it but still no luck.

Hi, Is I disconnect the connector on my original abs module, and then I reconnect the connector for only cleaning contacts on the abs module must I reprogramming with vcds or not ?
@@massimopica5008
Thanks for watching, some model vehicles will require it however not all.
Try disconnecting the black negative cable from your battery and leaving disconnected for a minimum of five minutes. This will allow your system to perform a reset and likely reconfigure your ABS system and sensors to the main onboard computer of the engine.
Just stumbled upon your video, good stuff. Recently got a DTC 66-1 (Brake Pressure Sensor Failure) and 98-1 (ECU Unmatched) for my 2000 Acura RL. Got any tips on how to fix this kind of stuff?

Thanks for watching & sharing your comment. Have you performed a battery reset test to see if it was just a sporadic error?
Unplug Black negative Cable from your battery and leave unplugged for a minimum of 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, resecure negative cable to battery.
Take it for a short test drive and see if the codes come back. Keep us posted. Please subscribe to the channel and ring your TH-cam bell 🔔 that will be helpful to us thanks again!

Thanks for watching, it’s likely a sensor with the Tesla Y. 👍🧰
Thanks for watching, it may be as simple as a reset. Below is a link.

Mine came on in the rain.. thanks for the video 👍

@@livetech4062
We appreciate the follow up. Below is a link that dives deeper into how the speed sensor operates in conjunction with the hub. Pretty unique design.

@@sanchezerick8377
Thanks for watching, any update? That’s a bummer you have been through two transmissions already and onto your third.
Hopefully the electrical wiring for your speedometer was not damaged during one of the transmission swaps.
It’s possible that it’s the ABS module however, unlikely…🤔
When was the last time you disconnected the black negative cable as well as the red positive cable and left disconnected for a minimum of 30 minutes? This will allow your system to perform a full reset.
Can I remove the ABS Fuses, Thus disabling the ABS System & Lights and function regularly?
Thanks for watching, unfortunately that will begin to trigger many additional fault codes that will lead you to think additional parts have failed when they are still working…leading to components degrading and lessening the overall performance/reliability of vehicle.
Are you having trouble finding replacement fuses?
Thanks, I just want the warning lights OFF
will dielectric grease throw it off?
Thanks for watching and it sure will. Dielectric grease can even foul-out spark plugs if too much is applied.

You may actually have a caliper in its early stages of failure. If calipers have not been changed in last 5-7 years, it’s very likely the caliper is the cause.

Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club John. We would start by doing a Reset.

Thanks! 🤘
@@Vballnut2117
Thanks for the update, since multiple items are giving sporadic behaviors, kinda sounds like you have an electrical shortage...🤔
You may have a loose connection or ground somewhere within the system.
