I love the interviewer. He's one of the few people I've seen to be legitimately happy to even be talking to the musician. You can tell he's a fan.

I love Jay Reatard. A truly brilliant, honest, fearless artist/musician. Quite ironically, due entirely to Jay's disparaging mention of them, I have now discovered and quite enjoy Crispy Ambulance. Weird how life (and death) works that way.

he seems like a nice dude here. really easy to get along with but also really passionate about what he's into. i can relate a lot to the whole hating the music that's native to your area thing. growing up in south louisiana cajun music is shoved down your throat. there's some great stuff out there but, after hearing it for so long you kinda just start hating it.

He was my first cousins son ! Never knew him ! I'm a musician myself ! Wish I could've met him and talked to him ! Maybe I could've said something to him that would've helped him ! Maybe he would still be here ! He was a very talented young man ! His Momma has still not got over his death ! Probably never will !!

Crispy Ambulance played post-punk. Alan Hempsall (Vocals) had to fill in on vocals for Ian Curtis/Joy Division on their gig at Derby Hall in April 1980. That gig is classic. 'Cause of the riot. Check out the biopic of Joy Division - Control.

This is one of the best interviews that I've ever seen, where Jay is just kinda being himself. Good Job. A+ for authenticity . A lot of the times when Jay did stuff like this he was a little more out of character, but this nails it as his usual demeanor.

i think it's a good point about how a lot of obscure bands are obscure for a reason. i mean obviously it's not always the case but you get these people who are continuously searching for what is more than often junk but because they're obscure it's mega cool. in the great scheme of music it's just a silly hobby i think.
