Wildberry metallic is *chefs kiss* also for all the amazing performance this offers, I took this on a 1500 mile road trip and averaged 80+ mph and still got 22mpg with this exact X6M. Thats surprisingly great for a 5000+ lbs truck.
Good to hear there is still decent MPG for long road trips. How was the ride quality? Not too raw/harsh, as this video seems to imply? My car leaves the factory on Tuesday.
Great episode. Absolutely love the engine sounds when you were tooling around Moto Canyon. BMW is to be applauded for cranking out great cars for the widest set of customers.
Great review, as always! When you get a chance, since the 2024 X5 M60i is now equipped with the same S68 engine, could you review the BMW X5 M60i that is equipped with a Driving Assistant Professional Package (active-roll stabilizer) and provide your feedback and opinion. My lease on my 2021 BMW X5MC is ending and I am thinking about the M60i instead. Thank you!
How is a beautiful custom paint color not worth the money but $2000 for an option to raise the Vmax that you will literally never use is somehow worth the money? Lol 😂
I totally agree with your assessment! Getting a PHEV with the S68 motor would elevate the platform. My X5 50E gets refueled once a month (2,000 miles) and when needed I throw it into Sport mode and it delivers the beans… (Still waiting for your X5 50e review btw)
That's what the XM is, no? Personally I think X5 50e powertrain is the perfect balance. Luxurious I6 instead of Merc's I4 PHEV In the C63, but lighter than V8 to offset some of the weight gain from PHEV. Still has more than enough power (could use S58 for more power).
@@The_Stanman I’ll take the legendary B58 motor over the highly sprung S58 for long term reliability. The XM doesn’t offer up to 50 miles on EV range alone like the 50E. Also, the price delta bet the 50E or X5M with the XM is staggering.
@@blazinmark1 the reason the XM has less electric range is bc it has the V8 (extra weight) and performance wheels/tires. It actually has a bigger battery than X5 50e. That's why I think 50e powertrain is 👌 XM sticker price is crazy but discounts means it's actually not much more than X5M. X5 50e is best of the bunch IMO. Can't wrong with S58 or B58. S58 is overbult so rock solid with no issues tuned to 800hp+. But B58 has more low-end grunt and crazy good fuel economy. Both are some of the best engines on sale.
LOVE that you refuel only once a month. A friend of mine @ church just got one and he does the same. Traded a Taycan for it. A Tesla before that. Waiting on a X5 50e to land in the fleet for a test.
With regard to making a PHEV version, I picked up an X5 50e PHEV a few weeks back and couldn’t be happier with it. Traded in a base M8 for it and honestly the X5 feels peppier at slow speeds with in town driving because of the electrification. The X5 50e PHEV is an absolute bargain in my opinion. Please review it, you won’t be disappointed!
I’ve literally been asking him Motoman to do so for 3 months now. (Since I’ve p/u mine) I too came out of a V8 21’ M550. And I am loving the monthly trips to the gas station.
@@blazinmark1 nice! The 50e shocked me big time. I also owned a 2021 Cayenne base and also test drove a 23 Macan S back to back with it and the 50e won me over immediately. Fingers crossed for a review!
If it drives as you say, then it has to be a great M car, even though is an SUV. Is good to see manufacturers trying to develop great cars more than just appeal to everybody at the same time. BMW engineering is really up there so can´t say much against it.
Great review! How fun is this to drive vs Porsche? I had a 2011 Cayenne Turbo and was amazing handling but was not fun to drive in everyday city life. I could very rarely crank it out.
Now that I am in my mid 40's I am completely bought into the coupe SUV niche. I want an M4 but I don't want to have to stoop down to get in it and I don't want it to look like a baby bus.
I love that color! Though I’d take the Porsche Cayenne over this.. I just can’t get over the new interior with no physical buttons and those horrible unintegrated screens.
Love your videos and your review on the X6 ///M. I actually have a 2024 X6 M60i which still has the 48 Volt mild hybrid V8, It does come standard with the M compound brakes without colored calipers. If you want blue, red, or black, you are paying extra for the color and M logo. Porsche does that with the Cayenne. Yellow is 9,080 and if you want black, it's an additional 900. I also have the Active Anti Roll Bar system. It comes in the Dynamic Handling Package which is unavailable on the ///M version. You can also opt for the Air Suspension in place of the 48 Volt suspension or standard. The last thing is I'm 37, have no kids, probably use the backseat once a month, and hardly ever use the trunk. I purely bought the car for its looks, premium feel, options such as the 48 Volt suspension, and lower consumables than the ///M version. I'm actually considering giving it up for the ///M version of the new 5 series when it's revealed and goes on sale.
I was so annoyed by the price of this and other performance SUVs that I went to the bother of running an inflation calculator and the reality is that the prices now aren't much different to 2001. An M5 back then was 120 grand in today's money. Considering the amount of tech that comes in cars today compared to back then it's surprising the cost of somthing like this isn't higher.
Funny looking Sport Activity Vehicle (as BMW likes to call them).😉 At the end of the day, it's a BMW, and there's always a deep-pocket buyer for them. 🤑

Yep and likely rides better. Yes, M cars are meant to be performance weapons, but no way I'd pay this kind of money to have the fillings in my teeth work loose over a road trip.
I dont think 48v systems should be marketed as hybrids. Avg consumers can't understand 3 types of different - mild, regular, and PHEV. Calling it a "hybrid" suggests real efficiency gains. But 48v sustems are more about smoother start-stop and running more accesories (and maybe +1mpg)
As to the Jeckly/Hyde efficiency on your wish list, they can simply put a second electric motor in the bell housing tuned for efficiency that’s supplied by that plugin hybrid battery. Yes it takes a sharper pencil to arrive at the correct hp/psi ratio but is achievable given the low end is already covered quite well already. Makes my 2023 IONIQ 5 AWD look like a lightweight. 😉 Let’s keep that PHEV at the same weight through savings that should be easy to find. 15:26 #nicereview

true, I’m test driving one of these this Saturday, I’ll also drive the M60i to compare and see if the extra 40k is worth it. I did drive the GLE63 and wasn’t impressed with it. But I’m also coming from a Tesla Model X plaid.
This is the best looking coupe suv. No GLE. No Cayenne coupe. The X6 started the trend and is still leading it.

I do appreciate that BMW is the only brand to send out individual paint colors as tester cars. Voodoo blue M5, signal green M3's, it's great.
Getting onto the freeway is so fun
