This is for someone who does already have a 911 but also wants to have something fun to drive when they need to haul tons of people + stuff. A lot of people ask "why?" when it comes to big and fast SUVs, but the real questions is "why not?".
Been driving in AK for 25 years. X6M is the best handling vehicle. Ordering a 25 now, and trading 23 in. lol love the shit out of it. Never felt safer on Alaskan Highways.
So i have the X6M comp and a C7 Z06. The mindset for me was that i wanted to drive something capable enough when i wasn't driving the corvette that i wouldn't miss the sport car feeling, which the X6 does. I couldn't have gone with the X5 its even a little cheaper but i prefer the look of the X6 and its a little firmer than the X5 plus the lost storage isnt that big of a difference.
agree with your conclusion - performance SUVs dont make a ton of sense. for this price its better to buy a m2 and base X5. jack of all trades master of none type of situation here.
With a luxury brand, buying things that make sense, doesn’t make sense. If that was important a lot of brand would not last as long as they did. A performance suv is needed as much as a sports car, hypercar, hot hatch or boring soccer mom daily.
Exactly what I thought, I have the same philosophy that having a pure sports car + an affordable comfortable suv is the way to go. No one is foolish enough to bring this to the track, and on the road, you won’t be much faster than a X3 m40i due to traffic and speed limit.
probably not a real M car if you're the lightweight sports car type of person. But seems like a fun vehicle for a non car enthusiast who is doing well financially and likes the styling. So yes it is a flex lol.
non driving enthusiast? phew... you are wrong, i would have said its rather for the car enthusiast for its impressive throttle response! Not a real M car, what are you talking about?? it moves like one with impunity! I can understand if you don't like it for its styling maybe but this is a beast and delivers what it should!
I don't understand the logic in talking about practicality when you are driving an x6comp. Was that the reason it was made? no and its a coupe. It is an exciting car to drive and look at, for me the argument people make for the x5 for its extra boot space is ridiculous! The car as it is, has provided adequate boot space and the essence is to enjoy the unique driving experience and the passion of its unusual speed! It was not made for grand dad or grand mum c'mon! lets be real
It definitely does not make any sense. I recently consolidated cars from a beater civic and 991.2 c4s to something reasonable for the daily commute. An sq5. It wasn’t outrageously expensive and something I wouldn’t feel bad about if something happened to it. Deep regrets after purchasing the car. Looking to go back to the two car setup with an accord hybrid and sports cars tbd. Having owned 5 cars in the past 3 years I’ve definitely learned that expensive, partly sporty daily’s are a waste of money and don’t take the place of a true sports car.
Its reviewers like him make me loose creditability in their reviews. Think about it, BMW introduced the X6 M with the sloping roof and alot of people complained about it. Look around at SUVs now for sale in which many other manufactures introduced. All of them have a sloping roof and a high performance engines but are not as good as the X6 M (maybe a few). I understand he doesn't like performance SUVs in where it has become the norm. Truthfully you can do more with your performance SUV than what you can in a sports car its all in what you want
Its like saying you prefer the m3 touring over the M3 sedan. Its a sports coupe not a van. Yes you can haul dirty, muddy wheels in there, but should you in a 146K car??? Don't be deceptive!
I'm really hoping you get to drive an X3M next. A bit smaller, but has the S58 from the M3. I'm curious if it's taller M3 or just a straight line hero.
With the x3m, you definitely feel the weight around corners while pushing from around 7/10ths onwards. Sports plus mode works the best for me usually when pushing. The suspension is hush but it really depends on the roads where you live/drive. What I do enjoy is the higher sitting position, especially when you go back to a lower car.
I drove an X3M at the dealership yesterday. The suspension is harsh on sports but on comfort is livable. Its very fast but in order to get the needed torque, you have to be in a higher RPM
"X5M looks much better from the side and rear profile" - lol speak for yourself I bought my M60i because it looks much better than X5, which has a old daddy car look.
Thank you for acknowledging the flex angle to this car. I know it seems simple. but I feel like most car reviewers get so caught up in typical tropes and use cases that they fail to consider why the majority of people actually buy things like this. It’s simply a flex and they think it’s cool. End of story
For me I just think it looks beautiful. It’s my style, looks good for daily etc. I just want something durable long term . Not like I’m gonna go around reving my engine. For what?

I have the pre-facelift X6M. I bought it so my 3 kids can ride in it and enjoy it with me.

Let me fix that for you. Better off with a Mid size truck, Fun car and a trailer :)
perhaps you don’t know the rest of that saying my friend. A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.

This new one looks even better . They did a great job easily the suv u can buy at its price range.

Agreed. Pretty dope flex though.
LOL its 100% a Real M
It’s a M car and a flex

Why didn't BMW put the big brakes in the rear too? Strange....the M2 is the same too.
What a machineeeee!!!
Awesome review.. and glad I came across this channel 💯 I think the engine on the LCI X5 & X6 is the s68.
Ty for this video. I was wondering why it was so expensive. Can’t wait to get it! It’ll be my big girl purchase for MEEEE
You should see if you can test an X3M, I’ve heard they’re great aside from a firm suspension

I’d be interested in a comparison with the M60i

You really put all them dirty tires in that X6M like that didn't even put a towel or anything geez

Which canyon road are you taking?
Can i get bmw x5m competition review pls
M3 does not have this engine
love it!

5400 lbs M car? I think not. Big flex? Hell yeah!
The only performance suv I'd buy is a trackhawk

*_IF YOU ARE GAY THEN BUY X5. X6 ARE FOR REAL MEN ONLY. I LOVE THE LOOKS OF X6_*
A real M car will never be an SUV for middle aged women.
