I have a little story for Mark. He likes to harp on the advantages of a manual emergency break. I have a 2023 Chevy trailblazer with 17,000 miles. I’ve been driving from one town to another at times approaching 70 miles an hour without any problem. I have loved the car up to this point. Then three blocks from where my destinations wise my digital display started going crazy. Flashing emitted in different colors different gauges going on and off at different times. It was wonky. And three seconds later, I noticed my power steering was gone. so it’s time to stop and pull over right I hit the brakes all the way to the floorboard and nothing no brakes. What’s my next step? Hit the emergency brake except it’s electronic and that’s not working. By a miracle I didn’t crash into anybody. And I didn’t get hurt. The car just coast it to a stop. If this it happened when I was going 60 miles an hour, and then coming up to her intersection I couldn’t stop then I probably would’ve been killed not to mention other people involved in the accident. I will never buy another car again that doesn’t have a manual by wire emergency brake. That flat out could’ve saved my life if things have gone very extreme, which they could’ve. They’re bringing somebody down from GM to evaluate the situation as of course they are very interested in what’s going on. by the way, Savage geese is the best by far car review program on the Internet. Mark has this down.
Ever since the first one, I've been in LOVE with the BMW X6. This one is definitely no exception. And yes, 130 is definitely a bargain!! When compared to the competition.
@@TassieLorenzo Well, if your buying decision is based on Consumer Reports rankings, absolutely. BMW's do pretty darn well throughout the warranty period. If you talk to many long term owners, independent shop mechanics and BMW service techs....🤔again.
@@huskypup3489 But if cars are reliable then you hardly ever need to replace any parts (a "repair" not maintenance) outside of the schedule service items? I.e., replacing a broken BMW plastic PCV accordion hose at 7 years is not maintenance, that's a repair. That's not on the service schedule and you'd reasonably expect a rubber hose (if BMW had used one) to last for around 20 years before replacing it. Or similarly replacing the plastic throttle body assembly on a MINI Cooper is not maintenance that's a repair, on other vehicles the throttle body lasts at least 20 years...
Cayenne GTS starts at $125, has far better steering and suspension tuning and no fake engine noise. If you really care about driving, like you claim to, it’s a no-brained over X5/6M.
With Porsche you really really need to price it with equivalent options. If you think BMW is bad about about standard equipment, they are a whole other dimension.
I mean I live in LA metro area and I see these bad bois in the school pick up/drop off line with the range rovers and the cayennes and model Xs. Pretty likely to get cut off by one in traffic.
No, but I'm curious about the longevity of those electromechanical actuators... Oh, wait, you're talking about the Beemer? I thought everybody was talking about the desk commercial.
I got to drive one of these on track recently at a BMW performance experience and honestly I was surprised at the performance. It stayed a lot flatter than I was expecting and as Jack said, it’s not hard to get the back end out. That being said, my experience in the M4 was far better. Also, my friend who’s a better driver than me couldn’t keep up in the X6M and ended up behind by about half the track after a few laps.
I appreciate the genius, the effort and the humour you two guys put into this amazing automotive channel. If I were asked for a wish, I would say "Spend your talent for entertainment, knowledge and passion for something else, but not so many SUVs as of lately being featured on your channel." I would rather watch you presenting us an old Ford Pinto (are there any left in the US or did they all burn down over the time?) with your unique approach than having the next boring SUV on your channel.
Yeah, but when SUVs are what half of all the buyers are choosing, they can't really leave half the audience lying on the cutting room floor. This is a business.
Which is better for a one car owner who wants that goldilocks of sport and comfort : X5/6M or a loaded-up Porsche Cayenne S? I'm curious if the M-cars are always too high-strung and stiff compared to the Cayenne.
Well, technically this isn't an "M" car. But nomenclature aside: yes, even the BMW's lightly breathed on by the Motorsports division tend to be stiff riding.
This honestly feels like whiplash after such an excellent video on the 992.2 911. It’s a good video. It accomplishes its goal. It’s also just whiplash.
When I first saw one at a dealership - I thought it was butt ugly, I still think so - I asked the sales rep "who buys these THINGS" ? He told me "single people with too much money, like me". I guess that explains these vehicles best. I may want that desk chair tho !
If had you asked me 10 years ago, I couldn't have predicted that malaise era 2 would have so much horsepower. Back then I wouldn't have believed you could extract so little excitement from this much power, but then I drove one of these. You need to just save up more for the P car if you insist on a SUV, or succumb to electric. They can add the same fake engine noise to the latter if that is the part that bothers you.
For everyone complaining about the styling, we are selling this more than ever. A lot of customers(at least in italy) prefer the x6 to the x5, no one who buys a luxury suv really need the cargo space
2:32 "Home office desk design, everything I've learned in 25 years of working on computers" video sponsored by BMW ///M Division. But where is the warming plate for the leftover Factor75 food for when Jack Silverback has worn out all his tires and comes home hungry ?
There are plenty of consumers who are both status and image conscious and this type of coupe style SUV speaks to them. Basically people who have soccer mom routines but want to look cooler and more hip than the boxy SUV Tahoe/RAV4/X5/GLE driving moms, dads and kids whom they can’t stand next to them.
The existence of this car is all you need to prove that SUV is a lifestyle option now. You spend more, get less cargo space, and you don't even get a fricking rear wiper ffs. Even a 911 comes with an option to put rear wipers on but not this thing? Like why?

In 5 years, this will be worth $40K.
But you won't find anyone who wants to work on it. And it will need a few things done, I can assure you.
@@cbotten106 Aren't BMWs well-made and reliable? 🤔
@@TassieLorenzo Well, if your buying decision is based on Consumer Reports rankings, absolutely. BMW's do pretty darn well throughout the warranty period. If you talk to many long term owners, independent shop mechanics and BMW service techs....🤔again.
There's a difference between reliable and cheap to maintain. BMWs are reliable, but not cheap to maintain.
@@ruleslawyer Exactly. The BMW is a better value when the options are apple to apple.
@@weirdshibainu if value is your issue buy a loaded trackhawk with massaging seats for 65k less

The fact that these sell well is just... scary.
And honestly, I doubt these cars will ever actually "haul a family".
They do.
You’re just biased against it.
It's mostly about the flex. Most of the M sedan owners I know are just hard parkers too and bought it for the label.
I mean I live in LA metro area and I see these bad bois in the school pick up/drop off line with the range rovers and the cayennes and model Xs. Pretty likely to get cut off by one in traffic.
@@ruleslawyer "hard parkers" means they are parking by Braille, I'll assume.

No air suspension? That's a plus in my book. No extra complications.

The check engine light will be on from day 1, like every other BMW. If the check engine light is not on, you have a fake BMW, probably a Lada.
Just installed a FlexiSpot ™️ chair into my Scion frs. I ran a 7 min nurgburgring lap. Thank you!!!
Mark….the ad was an interesting behind-the-scenes look at your cell. BTW, thanks for the great vids. 👍👍
$146K? I'll take TWO of them!
Coilovers is a major plus over air sus
That's one thing you do get with the M. They don't do airsprings...yet.
Just get the x5 xdrive 40i.
need speed? X3M.
need bigger? x7
flex SUV? Ferrari SUV
One of those things was definitely not like the others. I used to watch Sesame Street, so I got that right off.
How’s the reliability of the BMW “hot v” v8? Can it touch the Godlike B58?
most reliable engineering in the current Range Rover lineup!
Better i guess. S series engines have much higher cooling capacity and stronger cranks and pistons.
this is the S68. Everything internal has been forged to withstand higher compression and boost.
As James May would say, that front end is gopping.
I agree with everything Chris said
Which is better for a one car owner who wants that goldilocks of sport and comfort : X5/6M or a loaded-up Porsche Cayenne S? I'm curious if the M-cars are always too high-strung and stiff compared to the Cayenne.
Well, technically this isn't an "M" car. But nomenclature aside: yes, even the BMW's lightly breathed on by the Motorsports division tend to be stiff riding.
Nice! What cable sleeves are those, wrapping the cables on the monitor? The brown/copper colored one. Thanks!
Where’s the x5 m60 video ?
This or jaguar fpace SVR?
The SVR is a beast and for the price, probably a better contender for a sporty SUV.
More bang for your buck too.
Could you do also the test of the Mercedes GLE 63S? I’d love to hear your opinions and how it compares to the X6M Competition
THE DESK SETUP YES
This honestly feels like whiplash after such an excellent video on the 992.2 911. It’s a good video. It accomplishes its goal. It’s also just whiplash.
When I first saw one at a dealership - I thought it was butt ugly, I still think so - I asked the sales rep "who buys these THINGS" ? He told me "single people with too much money, like me". I guess that explains these vehicles best. I may want that desk chair tho !
Not gona lie thag desk is crazy do they have any for workshop garage use?
Thank God Mark is not assembling cars lol
If had you asked me 10 years ago, I couldn't have predicted that malaise era 2 would have so much horsepower. Back then I wouldn't have believed you could extract so little excitement from this much power, but then I drove one of these. You need to just save up more for the P car if you insist on a SUV, or succumb to electric. They can add the same fake engine noise to the latter if that is the part that bothers you.
Just wondering about fuel economy, you know I’m thinking of buying one and worried about cost of ownership, also tire cost?
For everyone complaining about the styling, we are selling this more than ever. A lot of customers(at least in italy) prefer the x6 to the x5, no one who buys a luxury suv really need the cargo space
i came here for the cars but i ended up being a desk expert 🤓🤣

Fantastic contributions by Chris.
Welcome to SG furniture channel.....Too bad , SG just jump the shark !!
This is the raison d'etre for these: To look a wee bit cooler/richer than the next person in the school pickup line.
As far as embedded ads go, this one at least made me laugh out loud at 5:45, I felt that facepalm in my bones lol
The existence of this car is all you need to prove that SUV is a lifestyle option now. You spend more, get less cargo space, and you don't even get a fricking rear wiper ffs. Even a 911 comes with an option to put rear wipers on but not this thing? Like why?
Here for the desk
Yeah Mark, sell me the Herman Miller…. ***inappropriate grunting*** 😂😂😂
Trackhawk killer!
They are different breeds. X6M is faster than most cars you’d encounter in track days on a single lap. Trackhawk can only go straight.
