    The coir fender sells for $250 and is for a boat. It puts a cushion between the dock and a boat. Shells, boats and beach stuff always sells.

      That coir fender would scratch up the fiberglass on a boat. It probably is a decorative piece. Boat fenders are usually white rubber so they don't leave marks on the white fiberglass of the boat.

      This is why if I don't know what it is I look it up or I go with my gut. Lol. When I see nautical decor it's usually Hobby Lobby. So if it has what appears to be a brand name on it and the quality is 10× I'm most likely grabbing it. To people watching who thrift for resale and find themselves asking "would the crazy lamp lady pick this up...?" (Guilty🙋‍♀️) let this be a lesson! If you see something of quality, you have no idea what it is, and it has a brand name on it... take the time to look it up. If it's cheap enough and in a decor theme that sells just grab it. You never know until you know until you know! I'll always watch and always be a fan. But I watched her pick up a plastic votive holder that sold for 18 and leave items that are worth 100+. She absolutely is knowledgeable in her niche. But I learned something as well from this video. Take time to read the comments! I can learn for her but I can learn from all of you in the comments as well!! So know I'm going to spend my Sunday rewatching all her videos and reading all the comments.🤣🤣 Thank you to the CLL for all you share with us and to everyone in the comments watching with me for everything you will teach me in the future and you don't even know it yet!🥰🥰🥰🥰

    Looking closer at our happy couple - the "other side" is a year or so later. It's 3 in the morning - feeding time. She's holding the hungry baby. He's in rumpled pajamas with the baby's bottle. They both looked shell-shocked and sleep deprived. Yep, the honeymoon is over!

    The coir fender is for boating...coir is fiber from the outer husk of the coconut. A fender is placed between the boat and the dock and prevents rubbing. In boating "To fend off" means to prevent your boat from bumping a solid object.

    Coir is a form of rope and the fender part is because they hang from the side of the boat to protect it as they sometimes knock against the stone walls as they are tied up at a dock. As in the smaller size of fishing boats as we have in Plymouth. UK

    Coir (kwar) is a natural fibre used for various temporary outdoor things. The fender would be one of several secured to
    the side of a small boar/yacht to prevent damage when the craft is tied up. Obvious when you know! Now you know too.

Well the heat from making popcorn heated the screws and the wheels fell off while I was popping popcorn. The machine tipped over backward and I caught it before the grease landed on my counter. A piece of studio pottery that seems "thin" can be the mark of a skilled/experienced potter. When you find pieces that are heavy, especially with heavy bottoms, it's usually an indication of a new, inexperienced potter. It is difficult to draw the sides up on a wheel-thrown pot and new potters tend to leave a lot of clay at the bottom of the pot.

    • @CrazyLampLady
      @CrazyLampLady  ปีที่แล้ว

      In studio pottery, I look for thin. I think thin and porous are different. Some cheaper ceramics are porous and lightweight and don’t feel like great quality.
