Seems to me like the rewind and save stating will make getting the trophies incredibly easy. I'm sure some purists will be very upset since it might lower the difficulty of getting the trophies to pop if you can just save/rewind at will.
I actually love that in fact IF Wild Arms 2 gets ported over Ragu Ragula is easier to Kill if you SAVE State EVERY turn that way if it uses its Darkness Attack but you have FIRE rings equipped you can simply LOAD state during that turn replace the Fire rings with the Darkness ones to survive it. Same with Save States with the Fire rings equipped then LOAD state that file if its current turn uses the Darkness attack to survive it. Once it in Wild Arms 2 starts to ONLY use Impulse bomber which is once it loses 79,999 of its 99,999 HP you'll no longer need to abuse Save Stats as long as Lilika has at least 4500 max HP to survive Impulse bomber at FULL HP. IF Dragon quest VII gets ported over Save/load stats make the Hi/Low poker bids for doubling your winnings easier simply save state BEFORE choosing YES to double your bet then if you chose WRONG between the next card being hi/low LOAD the save state and chose the opposite outcome. Meaning if the current face up card is a 3 SAVE state before choosing YES to double your bet that way if you chose High but a 2 shows up simply LOAD State that file BEFORE choosing yes by doing that the next card flipped up will always be that Same 2.
RetroAchievements already solved that issue back in like 2012. Every achievement has two modes, "normal" and "hardcore". To be able to earn hardcore achievements you need to enable hardcore mode, which disables a lot of features like savestates, slow motion, and rewind. So each game has two levels of "platinum", one says "completed", and the other says "mastered", the badge for "mastered" has a gold border around it.
I hope they eventually include all the Hot Shots games! One if my favorite franchises! I read a review "even if you don't like golf, you'll love this game" I rented it and the rest is history, now I love golf all thanks to these games! 😍

Hey Mystic, would it be possible to do a room tour showing off all of ur achievements (consoles and games) i would love to see a video on that as you have various insane consoles like the limited edition ps3 and other consoles.
Playstation games had limited precision for vertex positions, and interpolated between vertexes in the screen space which are not perspective correct. This results in both 'wobbly' triangles, and 'warped' textures. This was done based upon the limitations of the console at the time. These effects become more noticeable with higher resolutions rendered. New emulators (as far as I can tell) strategically replace these variables and/or transformation/interpolation functions so as to remove these problems (ape escape example on open source emulator, ppsspp: th-cam.com/video/GFkusa_gyRo/w-d-xo.html ). But such an undertaking would likely not be priority for an early emulator where compatibility is the goal (which I suspect this is). That being said, I have doubts that these types of features will be implemented by Sony for future iterations of the emulator -- corporations can be surprisingly tone-deaf. Sony may have avoided open source software emulators that are licensed under the popular GPL license as it would have obliged them to re-distribute the source, and obliged them to reveal the modified source which is tied to proprietary hardware and software (even given the age of the PS1 platform). A BSD or MIT license, by comparison, are generally much more inviting a license as they are VERY liberal and generally only require inclusion of the license in software. That being said, I would have preferred Sony leverage current Open Source solutions as they are very mature and have desirable features (eg. suppression of polygon wobbling, and texture warping), or at least learned from them if the source could not be directly used.
Warped textures on a CRT, and much less obvious, and overall distracting, than when the textures are razor sharp and upscaled to HD. Sony really should have implemented PGXP corrections, even if they allowed people to turn these options off. They go a a LONG way to improving the visuals and how polygons are displayed. Sony used to take more pride in their PS1 emulation, as well as more pride in their history. Jim Ryan.. isn't really a fan of that, which is kind of sad to see.
Yea bruh the games might look old but the newer trash games now are repetitive and boring it's fast food. There are still a lot of amazing PS1 games which hold up, IMO. It's more about how you experience them now. They still look, and play best, on CRT displays, via RGB connections IMO. And on modern displays, they should use proper emulation. NTSC 60hz, upscaled textures, and PGXP correction (gets rid of that awful texture warbling). It makes a HUGE difference in the way PS1 polygons are displayed. Just check out some examples of "DuckStation", a fan created emulator. There was no reason Sony couldn't have made these fixes, aside from just not caring enough for their own history, to do so. It's unfortunate.
Ugh.....that museum stealth level in Syphon Filter. I was 12 when that game came out, and it was easily one of my favorite games, but the stealth sections and last level were such a pain!
mostly the only classic games i rly care abt are the dragon ball games, the sonic games, and the digimon games and unfortunately there aren’t any in the new ps plus catalogue
Jeez the albatross trophy in Hot Shots Golf/ Everybody’s Golf is so difficult. Edit: I finally got it after 5 hours of frustration. Course 6, Hole 15 is by far the easiest because the green is right next to you.
Damn shame they never made that catalogue more expansive. Even with licensing and similar issues we got a fractional margin of the entire PS2 library at best and I mean heck Sony themselves even put a wishlist request of games people wanted to eventually see. Don't have high hopes for this changing for PS5 but we will see ;)
The Vita has full PSP hardware inside that can be utilized with CFW, you pair it with a fat launch PS3 that has the full PS2 hardware and you gain access to the entire legacy Playstation libraries at their best (not counting unofficial emulation that can upscale to 4K). I know it sucks having extra systems but they fit perfectly next to a PS5 instead of using this disaster, low effort emulator. How does Sony go from the kings of backwards compatibility to this mess I will never know.
@@Manic_Panic Because they never intended to have retro compatibility. They got their hand forced by the customers and the constant comparisons to Microsoft's gamepass. They rushed this thing out and came up with a half assed effort. I've never had a ps plus suscription and I was thinking of getting one but after this I'd rather use a tv box with emulators to run psx games

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one, because Activision sucks. They don't let you put the games on the Vita so I doubt they'll be willing to work with Sony to bring them to PS4/PS5.
I might platinum Ape Escape as I was disappointed that there was no platinum for Ape Escape 2 or 3 which were the first games I played in the series. I like the cutscenes.
I posted a few videos ago about registering for PS5 from Sony in the UK. It's been over 2 weeks now, haven't heard anything from them. Also noticed they had since started advertising on PSN, so who knows how many more people are waiting now.
That's the most promising thing about this service for me. It will help me hit 100 Platinum trophies relatively easily when they include a PS4 and PS5 version of most games.
Growing up in the uk. I played alot of ps1 games. I swear there must have been some pal games that must have been better optimised and retimed to play at full speed because I remember playing crash, spyro, gran turismo, tomb raider and tekken 3 and crash team racing and all sorts and they played like a dream. They were soo good.
Yes, some developers did proper PAL conversions. Others took the lazy approach and just slowed the whole game down and put black bars in or stretched the image.
50hz is not that bad. But obviously I prefer 60hz. I've played alot of games back in the day at 50hz don't mind it at all. I'd love if they put all the old Tomb raider games with trophies.
I already had Ape Escape from the Japanese PSN back in the PS3 days. Japanese PS5 Store requires you to pay 100 Yen to upgrade to PS4/5. Played in glorious 30 FPS. I can't imagine playing at 25 FPS. No crashes for me, but the analog sticks have isssues. For instance, if you go from the right analog sitting in the center directly to the right, the action will not respond. If you spin the left stick in a circle, you will notice a portion of the left stick will have the wrong deadzone wrong and Spike will start walking slowly instead of running. Regardless, I got both platinums in just a few hours in one sitting for playing it on both PS5 and then the PS4 version. No way to sync the trophies or saves across the platforms.
You had to pay for a game you already purchased? For some reason I thought I read that we would be able to download the PS4/5 version for free if we had purchased the game previously on PS3.
@Castcoder. I wonder, I noticed that Spike walking issue when using a DualShock 4 on the game on my PS Classic. It could be the controllers themselves causing it.
@@dapperfan44 I haven't updated my DualSense but this can be an emulator set up issue too. I've accidentally done it a few times. Though with how terrible the PS1 emulator was by doing stupid things like not letting you enable analog in Crash 2 because someone at Sony didn't bother to test if the game had analog support makes me doubt this will ever get fixed.

That would definitely be a 10/10 platinum Lmao
Ape Escape is legendary
Hoping they'll retroactively add trophies to these games which don't have them
mostly the only classic games i rly care abt are the dragon ball games, the sonic games, and the digimon games and unfortunately there aren’t any in the new ps plus catalogue
Great job on man,and I really enjoyed the golf. Fun video "Mystic 👍
The newest everybody's golf makes you get a condor.(hole in one on par 5)
Man that voice acting....MGS1 really stood out so much on that department back in the day.
Can you please do something covering the button mapping? No one has yet. The main question is can we remap PSP controls to the right analog stick?
Jeez the albatross trophy in Hot Shots Golf/ Everybody’s Golf is so difficult.
Edit: I finally got it after 5 hours of frustration. Course 6, Hole 15 is by far the easiest because the green is right next to you.
I'm all for it I got almost every ps2 game on ps4 I'll do the same for this.
Damn shame they never made that catalogue more expansive. Even with licensing and similar issues we got a fractional margin of the entire PS2 library at best and I mean heck Sony themselves even put a wishlist request of games people wanted to eventually see. Don't have high hopes for this changing for PS5 but we will see ;)
Hoping to see the Spyro games on the service soon
This is cool...I didn't expect them to add trophies!
They should really get the duckstation dev on this, Perspective correction is a gamechanger
Nice, thanks for upload. When can i expect Part 2? ^^
The Hey Man, Nice Shit trophy is a reference to the song with the same name by a band called filter.
Watching you game at 2AM was fun. 💙
I do wonder if trophies can be cheesed by rewinding and redoing the same thing
Is that.. Ms Kawakami body pillow? I see Mystic is also man of cultured 😌
It’s crazy that the ps vita does a much better job emulating games than a brand new ps5
Psp Can Play Ps1 Games Too.
@@Chronologo Exactly. Sony destroyed bleem! and they offered incredible upgrades in the 90s.
Hot shots is my favorite golf game!!! I hope we also get all of the classic Resident evil and tomb raider games.
Playing on real hardware Is always unmatched but when compared to modern games It almost feels pointless without trophys
where as now I am more motivated to beat these classic games
PSP with achievements!
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite would be gruelling and unforgiving with trophies
Awesome video! I got the same cat mug as you!
Hopefully we get a vid for the Intelligent Cube playthrough. I loved that weird ass game when I was a kid
Oh boy, can't wait to see OG Crash get trophies :D it would be wild to have both versions with trophies considering difference in pretty much everything between the Old and New crash games.
I wouldn't hold my breath on that one, because Activision sucks. They don't let you put the games on the Vita so I doubt they'll be willing to work with Sony to bring them to PS4/PS5.
Dude, at 1:43 I thought Spike was about to do a BLJ, or a backwards long jump.
The dedication!! More kitty footage please :)
Excellent video m8, keep up the good work
Hope they put more Syphon filter games on classics I love those I remember playing the demo on one and the second one
6:39 best part lol
I'd love to see Konami put the original version of Metal Gear Solid 3 into the classics range so we can get Snake Vs Monkey. But it's Konami sooo...
Seems they wanted to take the most basic ideas for trophies and put them in syphon filter in time for the launch.
I can't remember the last time I stayed up at 2 am to play videogames and not to change diapers 😭
Siphon filter does look crisp
That's the most promising thing about this service for me. It will help me hit 100 Platinum trophies relatively easily when they include a PS4 and PS5 version of most games.
iced coffee my arse that's a baileys
Growing up in the uk. I played alot of ps1 games. I swear there must have been some pal games that must have been better optimised and retimed to play at full speed because I remember playing crash, spyro, gran turismo, tomb raider and tekken 3 and crash team racing and all sorts and they played like a dream. They were soo good.
Yes, some developers did proper PAL conversions. Others took the lazy approach and just slowed the whole game down and put black bars in or stretched the image.
Watching you play ape escape reminds me of playing MegaMan legends. Hope we get those.
It's honestly a crime Toy Story 2 doesn't have any trophies
11:07 Wow that's now how that men is supposed to look like.
Honestly, all ps1 game should have platinum troph, if not there's isn't different between playing emulator.
I am happy the PS1 games do have trophies ever since the PS1 classics on the PS3 I always wanted trophies for those games
Great video, fingers crossed we get more PS1/PSP/PS2 games with trophy support. Even if it is just Sonys first party games.
50hz is not that bad. But obviously I prefer 60hz. I've played alot of games back in the day at 50hz don't mind it at all. I'd love if they put all the old Tomb raider games with trophies.
1:47 You notice more wobbling because the graphics are upscaled.
Stumbled upon a video from you from 9 years ago and now u got an upload 3 minutes ago 👀
Personally can't wait to play Intelligent Qube
Wow these games look so clear
@@sinthetic4878 Not the Japanese store. Sony did the same thing Nintendo did with the Wii to Wii U.
