For the longest, i couldn't do it either but now it works but it has to be done on freshly washed and detangled hair. Like my hair actually slicked down when my hair when still wet and then after I slicked it down, I tied a scarf on it for like 5 minutes then took it off and my hair was laid.
So I finally found a way to slick down my hair. Basically you need got2b hairspray and eco style gel, if u don’t like my technique safe please do not try it. But if u do let me know how it goes
At this point my hair is 55c cause I can't get it this laid even in my dreams.

It looks great! 😍 but how about when it’s time to remove the gel from your hair? cause it dries up and clumps. The one time I tried gel (aloe Vera), I could barely comb my hair the days after.

I know this is a off topic question, but is regular eco stylet gel (the orange one) bad for you hair because I'm looking up reviews on eco styler gel and I see every other gel besides the regular one.
I've never even seen the orange one lol. They have different levels of 'Hold' so you can check which one is suitable for you.

But.....your edges don't match the rest of your hair? Why didn't you gel the rest of the perimeter of your hair once in the hair band? Your edges look like type 2a whilst the rest are 4b-c?
It depends on how one wants it.to me it wouldn't look as good if the whole hair was geled.
her hair is stretched lol, plus it’s not uncommon to have multiple hair types, her hair is also thin, so her edges may look looser
