Jaelah I learned a tip from a cosmetologist. She said its actually easier to slick the hair down wet instead of drying it first. If you notice, the hair flattens when wet but gets puffy when dry. So using a leave in and mousse to mold the hair while its wet will be a lot easier (since you're basically rewetting it with the gel).
Your hair is truly a gift. I done seen it been cut off about three times and grow back thick and curly every single time sis know what she doing and don’t even be trying

I have had my "good" brush for 40+ years. I want to be buried with it.
That good brush is my "hard bristle" brush. The one where I brush back thick wet hair where the wood is split and a few bristles missing.
That's the brush that gets in there!

I’ve found my hair is easier to lay when dry, if I lay it wet it drys frizzy
It kinda depends on your hair cause that can cause breakage for some people

I think damp hair is best. Not too wet, not to dry. To avoid frizz and puffiness
