I looked up Stolarz, saw that he's born in 1994, and thought "that's pretty young". It took me way too long to realize being born in 1994 means you're 30. Covid really messed up my sense of time

I was hoping we could keep Stolarz but wasn’t going to happen. He’s a HUGE goalie and quick. I think the Leafs made a great move here. We’ll definitely miss Stolarz in Florida. Good luck with him.

Playing for Toronto. isnt just playing for a hockey team, its like playinf for a country bc of how big Leafs fanbase is(if not the biggest in the world) and these fans get inside our own players heads and thats why most superstars dont want to play here. Bc of the youth

Stolarz is underrated. He can be good starter in NHL.

Mitch Marner and Max Domi's goaltender when they were playing together in the OHL. Same team that had Horvat, Zadorov, and Dvorak it was fire.
I'd love to see them sign Liam Foudy for the LW spot... they'd just be making their offense out of Knights Alumni.

I was young when I started watching hockey it was the year after the Leafs won the Cup. Immediately a Leaf fan and got to watch Ballard and his underling Imlach destroy the team
The fact that they aren't spending any big money on anyone or even the goaltender position tells me they don't even plan on moving off the core 4. If they were in serious talks with any teams about Marner or Tavares they'd have gone for Montour or Zadorov. They'd be spending more than 4 million on their goaltending. No team wants to take Tavares deal now that Arizona doesn't exist and Marner hasn't waved his NTC probably because he wants to see how all the contenders shape up before he agrees to leave if he even wants to.

Keep in mind guys that we have sub par defense coming into the next season and our forwards 2 way play are lack luster. I really hope that we dont fuck this up with sub par defense. Yes I am looking at you RIELLY! You are not a forward!
I agree to a point. It will be interesting to see the emphasis Berube will put on team defense and the schemes he puts in place if they are able to make a difference.

Watching him take pre gameskate and moving around the ice on one skate with very minimal body movement kinda reminds me of one of those football players on the vibrating boards.......but way way oversized.
Hated to see him go from my Kittehs but that is the way of cap hungry league.

I ❤️ Sammy and I wish him all the best for him and his young family. He struggled and came back strong. The only reason I am ok with him moving is that I believe the team needed to know that the goalie in net was going to be confident every time he was in net. Sammy clearly was not confident every time and that affects how the team plays. I know, I know….it wasn’t always his fault, but that’s just something I think that went in to this decision.

Cheap tandem, but never forget... Mrazek was more proven than Stolarz when he came to Toronto. Giving a 2/3 goalie a more important role in a tough market doesnt always translate to them being a solid starter. Its a good signing but I wouldve preferred a veteran as the backup to Woll

FL has been picking up no names for a few years now. Stolarz looks like the best of them. Lyon, Drieger, and meh Reimer the swiss cheese goalie. Stolarz has size and speed. Also I like Woll. Liked him two years ago and this year. Sucks he didn't play game 7. That stat line for the Ducks is insane. I will be trying to catch leafs games with him in net. I am very curious if the goalie that lead the league in GAA and Save percentage with 20 games or more can hold his own on the Leafs. He did out play Bob by half a goal a game with the same team in front of him.

Congratulations, Toronto. You've bagged yourself a goaltender, who is now on his 5th team, in 6 seasons. Truly, the x-factor for the season. A goalie that nobody wants, and an injury prone defenseman who's best years, were 3 seasons ago.
Looking forward to the customary 1st round exit in the spring. Assuming this team even makes the playoffs.

TO is the place where Goalies come to wish they never played Goal. When you look at his stats, he has done well when playing for a disciplined team committed to defence. When he has played for teams less committed lets just say the numbers are not great. This could be the place where he becomes the player he and the team want him to be. But I am sceptical he will survive the TO media circus of manure heads and the social club approach to hockey TO is famous for. Between Woll and Stolarz you get 148 NHL games. You get what you pay for.
He literally had a .917 behind an awful, not committed to defence, Anaheim team. He’ll be fine
This Stolarz signing is one of the best signings. He is a good goalie and Brad got hom cheap for 2 years. A huge 2 tumbs up on this signing. The Tanev signing is.....meaahhhhhh just so so. Good now, but will suck in 3-6 years

It's actually crazy when you realize Stolarz was a goalie no one would even pick up on waivers not even a year or 2 ago. Now he's seen as a cheap pickup at 2,5M per season just because he has a ring.
Florida is where people go to resurrect their career... Lomberg got 2 million, OEL 4 million, Stolarz 2.5 million, Montour 7 Million. Most of them were castoffs from their former teams. I trust Bill Zito and everything he does.
