    As of right now - 10:15 pm on June 30th - the Leafs have $12,080,333 in Cap space to spend.
    They need tp sign at least two decent D-men, a goalie, Dewar and probably 1 decent forward (Bertuzzi or his replacement).
    after all of that, they'll basically be the same team as last season.
    Start planning your tee-off times at the start of the 2nd round next season.

    Im not convinced that Liljegren isn't trade bait. I still think he gets moved its likely easier to trade him when a team knows what hes gonna cost (easier to trade WITH a contract than without).
    3M to play on the bottom pair with Benoit seems like poor cap management for a team where every dollar matters.

      yeah, that could possibly be the idea.. OR, the Leafs have an eye on another veteran D man which would give them, let's say Tanev and OEL and have OEL mentor Lilly to see if they can get him to make that jump.. if not, it's a 2 year deal and could very likely be dealt at or before trade deadline.. not too bad of a contract to shed

    I guess the Leafs brass figure if they can't sign the players they want, Liljegren is going to be their Number 2 defenceman. I figured they would sign Bertuzzi or Domi, but not both. It will be interesting to see how Toronto rebuilds/patches together their goaltending and defence corps.

  • @Fenrisulv987-nl8kh
    @Fenrisulv987-nl8kh 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    We all knew this was gonna be a tough free agency period without trading the likes of Mitch or JT. Not much Brad can do, I don't love the Liljegren salary bump but I think he's solid, he has tremendous potential and he's a needed defenseman for the club. Liljegren catches too much heat imo. Let's see what happens July 1. Adding Tanev and OEL would make our D-core so much stronger. I'd argue we would have a very, very good defensive grouping if we sign Tanev and get OEL signed as well. I wouldn't mind Lybushkin getting an offer, either.

    Well, there you go, Bertuzzi is not coming back. So, you have some cap space, but you need a starting goalie (because Holl has only played 30 games max, he will get injured, it will be a scary season for the Leafs, again), you need someone to replace Bertuzzi, and 5 million for Tanev... it's gonna be interesting.

After 3 years, I am 56 yo and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Evelyn Infurna. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can.

    Show us the Liljegren vs Rielly analytics pls.
    Saying "Liljegren HAS to be better" is something. For an RHD (of which there aren't many) he's already played better than 3m. Probably loves the city, because that's a discount.
    Rielly as a left-handed (there are dozens with his overall abilities) makes triple the money. Need some relativization here.
    How long have you been searching for an RHD?
    Don't you think it's the same for every franchise?
    RHD's might make more money while playing worse. Supply and demand, kick and scream about it, or learn playing right handed yourself and accept the fact that it's hard.

    Elias Lindholmand Nikita Zadorov each signed a contract with the Boston Bruins on Monday. Boston will be good again next season and in the future! Leafs I hope they make it to the playoffs next year and get past the first round. It does not look good for the Leafs in the future.

  • @mikecrawshaw9973
    @mikecrawshaw9973 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Looks to me like Cowan will be a leaf this year, I think they're banking on his low cap hit to help out on the front end. Knies will be a top line player this year, he looked good in the play-offs and showed he can do it. Then you have McMann, Cowan and Dewar to fill out the left side. Still not confident this team will do anything in this upcoming season without moving one of their core 4 contracts out but it's looking increasingly unlikely thats going to happen. Lilly is an overpay, and sadly the leafs can ill afford that with how tight their cap is!
