- Today we show you how to bond your own carbon-fiber roof. Tim shares some tips on how to bond your own carbon fiber parts. We test out a new adhesive from the usual Norton brand we use to bond the carbon fiber roof to the Celica.

I love this build I had a 77 Toyota gt when I was a kid. My dad traded it off without telling me for another "newer" car. I was sick i still miss it. Thank you for doing this car

The robots name was the Clamps! My personal favorite was the stabby one with the stabby sound effects. Also I predict the next build will be a carbon Chevy Corvair with a 3s GTE engine from an MR2!
My car went though this exact procedure thanks to this channel. Although, I was luck and was able to drill out the spotwelds to remove the roof, after I welded the sunroof plug and layed carbon fiber on top.
If I had to guess an obscure American car that might fit the build. AMC comes to mind, like a hornet, javelin or amx or maybe really weird like a dodge conquest (starion)
A Conquest is really just a Mitsubishi... so I doubt that...

How structural is a carbonfiber roll cage? And is there ways to make a carbonfiber copy of my actual engine bay including strut towers the firewall? Please let me know as I have access to use a huge autoclave and could use some insight or help. Thanks

@@speedacademydave i think it's the always going spiral of working on a project car and finding the exact same one that's supposed to be working only to end up with two cars with the same problem. (rust in the sills) you are very lucky that you found the one in the dessert! i have one widebody one so it's still a little bit different than the other. i hope you can enjoy your car soon after the paint and carbon fiber has been done! greeting from the netherlands

Your next build will be a Donk sedan.
You will lower the trunk and roof ~6” and carbon fiber it.
The roof will also be stretched so the base of the windshield is the same distance from the front bumper as base of rear window is from the back bumper. Firewall can be moved forward.
Angle the hood from windshield base down to top of bumper.
Mid-engine, radiator and fan in the back.
180° headers.
Cover (skirt) all 4 wheels.
Paint it 3 tone.
