The fuel prices might be out of date (this episode was first broadcast in 2009) but the Eco VS Fastest route is still worth considering with fuel prices higher than they ever have been.
£5 gallon? Ah... the good old days...
Yeah came here to say the same
For a true test should of done both routes at the same time in identical vehicles driven by twins
Draw back of a proxy war with the country that supplies your oil and gas.
Fuel is double that now. Didn’t know how good they had it
That Passat R36 Estate is a looker. It's a rarity these days.
The way he yammed that ice cream! 😆
£5 a gallon. Those were the days! Or maybe it was just 3 weeks ago with the way prices are going up almost hourly!! ;)
Love the passat ❤️
Yeah - lovely R36. 😍
An r36 lovely car that one
Save fuel = no R36 😂
but but but diesely estate goodness
@@WhuDhat The R36 is not a diesel, it's a VR6.
Wow! £5 per gallon! Times have changed
If you'd slow down a little bit, you know, stay behind the lorries, it will likely cost you less time and save more fuel than going through city traffic.
I really really wish we had these prices now
Time is the one thing you can’t regain 👌
5 pound a gallon would be a steal today!
Hmmm, not sure this works. Surely constant start stop traffic,. accelerating and stopping would use more fuel than those extra 7 miles doing a continuous steady speed. It's the harsh accelerating that hurts the mpg and (doing 70+ on the motorway than perhaps 62 because it's about 20% extra drag)
depends on what car you drive a hybrid or electric is in its element on the eco route a normal petrol/diesel would fair better on the fastest route also stop/start is terrible on a normal petrol or diesel car not a issue on hybrid or electric
We are complaining about $5/gallon gas in Arizona
In uk it's double now compared to this video
@@Birmingham_racing thats crazy. I think i wouldnt drive much at those prices. I dont drive much at $5/gallon lol
meanwhile I am watching for few seconds in: is that Tim Shaw?
Aye
Wish it cost that now.
History repeats itself 🤣
This aged badly haha. I wanna go back in time
