Hey Tin Man I had a question I was hoping you can answer are the Husqvarna 371 K saws the demo saws the same lower end as the 372 ? I don't know if that's the right saws but you know what I mean the demo saw and the chainsaw that came out together same year

I found a Husqvarna 51 chainsaw in the blackberry bushes at my house. It been there at least 3 years. Cleaned the pull rope spring. Changed the plug and put in fresh gas. Fired up after 5 pulls.

I still have my last 266 from 1983.
Wore out a 262 between 1978 & '83 & the 266 replaced it, then in late '84 I suffered a back injury playing rugby, which ended my days cutting timber for a living.
Dug the saw out today, as there's an oak log washed up on the shore (I'm in western England) & need to rip it to manageable pieces.
Looks like I should get something useable, maybe enough for a table top.

No more ding-a-ding-ding when she idles. I’d like to see a vid of a Walbro carb retrofit from the stock Tilly carb. I have the same issue on an old Husky and would like to know how hard it is to change the carb over and what Walbro you can use.Your gratitude and open- minded approach to things are what makes you a great saw builder. What I wouldn’t give to hang out in the shop on a Friday night!

Awesome! No more skipping chain it’s looking like 👍... yeah boy... the old one had a couple miles on here! 😂😂😂👍. Yeah the whole Christmas thing with everyone being on everyone else’s videos and sharing and supporting each other and then you guys all working to share the love and kindness and the coats on kids..,man I was reared up at one point... it’s definitely awesome that nick pixel is helping everyone with tech support and whatnot and this whole larger community is blooming!!! It’s definitely going to be one heck of a Buckin Stock or whatever where everyone is able to shoot the breeze and run saw’s! My 660 landed flat so it’s got a base gasket to have the squish... then I couldn’t find my screws so she’s rocking some Husqvarna bolts hear and there... I had to get it together so I can go get it tuned tomorrow! It’s going to be a great winter of saw building!!! I’m still thinking it’s a pipe idea for this echo 8000 that’s sitting here... I’d love a hot saw! 😂👍

Hello. Long time listener 1st time caller. First off, I have rebuilt a few Stihl saws and have been wanting to put a Husky in my collection. I found a basket case 266se that the original owner had torn apart and I feel it’s too far gone for my skill level. It’s missing most of the nuts and bolts, the carb and head are also gone. I have everything else and the parts are in pretty good shape. The crank is rusted. The clutch is good as are the covers and cases. If you can use any of it , it’s yours.
    Thanks for your time.

Just came back to this video and boy how right you are. I think I completely trashed 2 cylinders and have messed up 3 others but was able to fix the mistakes. Had to throw a hand full of pistons away as well. It is very discouraging putting a hole in the impus line or the outside wall of a transfer. But when you take your time and not try to reinvent the wheel you will start nailing it. When that happens and you realize and start understanding the whole process it will become much more enjoyable and fun. Then your caught hook line and sinker. Thanks for everything have a great week Tinman

I had a 1986 Husqvarna 266 xp with a silver tag from Tomos Slovenia given to me for free non-running off of Craigslist! Someone pinched the wire behind the pull starter and bared the wire shorting out the ignition and I cleaned out the carbourator and drilled a couple of holes in the exhaust pipe. It is a badness! I have a chainsaw collection of around 60 chainsaws, And I can only think of two others i own that even compare to the 266xp and that's my two Sachs-Dolmar 120 super saws! And I have guys ask to sell it to them every time I break it out and show it off because it sounds so frickin awesome at idle or when the throttle is pinned wide open 😜

Hi - another great video. I am learning more and more about these saws as I go. Having inherited a 266xp from my late father I am somewhat obsessed with keeping her running! I blew her up a while back and had to replace the top end and that got me into this crazy game! Now I tinker away (and bought a 268xp for good measure!) One thing I noticed on the 266 is that the drive sprocket has a lot of play and although I have not got into it yet, it looks like the washer (yellowish) has broken up...would this be causing the sprocket to wobble about? I guess once I get in there I will see what the issue is, but at first glance that washer looks shot.

Let me start with wishing you and your family a happy New Year! Because of this channel I now have two 266se's but both are giving me trouble. They idle, but when you give some throttle they die. They did ran at one point. So I tried adjusting the carb, but no luck. Any thoughts? I also have a clutch that goes kling-kling-kling but I thought that was pretty normal. Now looking at this video it could mean my clutch is bad and I need to do something about it🤔 Could that also be the reason they will not idle?
