Hey Brandon ,been watching your boat videos for a while ,love them and wanted to give you a couple tips, don’t be afraid to put your trim all the way up when your in 2ft water ,the boat will still move with less risk of getting hit and no damage will occur when moving at slow speeds,I also think the pressure arm is broken for your Maxwell windlass,it’s a pretty simple piece and could possibly be the problem
You are making us Burgh people proud! I really like watching your videos! I love to see you highlighting our beautiful city but that jumping off things is scary as hell! Have fun and stay safe.
Hey Brandon. Looks like you have a model similar to the Maxwell freedom 500 with an 8 plait anchor rope. It looks like the strands are starting to separate where it's binding up in the windlass. It might be time to replace it for a smooth operation. You could also try a 3 stand nylon for that model as well. I would also consider pulling the windlass and checking the hole to the anchor locker. A rough hole over time could be catching those threads in the rope, causing the issue. Get a half round file and sandpaper to round over and smooth out that hole. I don't have an electric windlass, but somebody might make a stainless collar for the anchor rope to pass through as well. Hope to catch you around Pittsburgh some day
You're first time running around - new boatie experience unlocked lol. And yet again you cooking up a feast reminded me I need to go eat, so thanks, yet again 🙂
Yacht certified is basically a fancy way for the manufacturer to say it’s not certified, since a very small percentage of boats manufactured are above 26’ they don’t bother certifying the passenger capacity and leave that up to the captains discretion. People can be rude all they want about you not having a yacht but you still have a boat larger than 95% of people have. A good way to keep your boat from swinging into shallow water is the throw out a second stern anchor to lock your boat in place. I use one when I beach my boat and it’s extremely helpful.
Hey Brandon!! Wow this was indeed stressful!! I’m glad you were able to get your boat back out to deep waters! I’m lookin forward to your Florida adventures!!! I love watchin your videos! You’re amazing 🤩 Much love from Texas! Stay safe ❤
For next time with the gen just so you know, not sure if you do... sometimes like you said it will suck something up into the thru hull under the boat and the way to sometimes tell is to shut off the seacock like you did and open up the strainer, once you do that open up the seacock again with the strainer open and there should be water gushing through into the boat, if you open the seacock and not a lot of water is coming out that obv means you have something stuck under at the bottom of the boat. Hope this helps, keep up the videos man, good work!
Just hauled out yesterday (11/3/24) so will be winterizing and gearing up for a winters worth of upgrades in preparations for a Florida trip next season. Maybe we can meet up then. Another great video man!
When I was a late teenager, I was driving my brother in laws speed boat at a local lake. We drove by the beach to kind of flex, and I got us stuck in 1.5 ft area by an island. It was the worst feeling, nobody would help, and finally it was towed out by a jetski. I couldnt imagine being by myself and stuck, but that looks just peaceful and a great getaway.
Watching this was a wild ride. Yay! Oh no! Woo! Oh crap haha. When you went down to make pasta I yelled “eat a granola bar get outta there!” 😂 Can’t wait to see where you end up for the winter!
A few weeks ago I installed a depth finder on one of our jet skis just so I can figure out where we can take our 40’ Chris Craft upriver and how close to get to shore on Lake Michigan. It’s got a depth finder but easier to figure out on the jet ski. Also, I didn’t realize there was no Max person on yachts. I couldn’t find it listed anywhere on our CC but on my jet boat it’s easy to spot the number 7.
I was looking for alligators with my small boat in the shallow Waters down here south Florida just this weekend it looks like South Florida Tropical Islands😮😮😮 oh yeah cool boat
Glad you are quick on your feet to get the boat out of shallow waters. That would be terrifying. Looking forward to the adventures for Florida. I know it will be sick.
I series wired a corded handset control to my windlass switch Brandon and by the looks of it this would of been a good help to you there (a second pair of hands) as you said, being able to take it into the chain/motor locker with you. Worth a look 👍🇬🇧
When the boat is out of the water maybe check underneath your boat to see if nothing is damaged by that log you possibly hit :) Sounded quite worrying if the entire boat rocked because of that hit :o Besides that, love your videos! :D
Reallly enjoy the boat content. If you haven’t seen intoodeep on TH-cam I think you’d really enjoy the vids. Gus makes some awesome content and has a ton of knowledge.
Your issue with the windlass may be what called the "stripper" they are typically plastic and considered a consumable. The stripper releases the anchor rode from the windlass.
Only about 2 hours from you in Altoona and love watching you n keeping up with what you are doing..If you head to Fl for the winter will you be back up in Pittsburgh next summer?
my friend got his boat stuck in 2feet of water. its such a nice cabin cruiser that many people would love to have, its a shame he miss treats it all the time and has to do constant repairs. write him a stern comment thats passive agressive telling him o get his life together
"Wow, man, only *you* could manage to get a beautiful cabin cruiser like that stuck in 2 feet of water! That boat deserves better than constant ‘adventures’ and emergency repairs. Imagine how smooth she’d run if she got half the attention you put into getting her unstuck! Maybe this is the universe’s way of saying it's time to level up your boat care game. Just a thought!"
It’s a lovely “YAUGHT” Brandon, f++k em!! Really nice video once again, shows you and all of us how easy it is to have these issues! We’ve all been there mate 👍🇬🇧
Welp, you and I could never share a dish w/noodles...I gotta have a limp noodle...at least when I eat anyways! lol (ok, I went there...gotta love a naughty joke sometimes haha!)
Are you ever going to change the lettering on the back - the location & rename your boat? I would make it your own, unless you're good with what it's currently named. Just curious 👍
I like your video's I've always wanted a boat like that but being a family of 5 I'll probably need something bigger. It seems crazy you'd knowingly take your boat into an area less than 5-6 ft. I wouldn't risk the boat for that in fact I probably wouldn't take it somewhere less than 10 ft just to be safe. It was cool to see you figure out how to fix everything. Do you have another boat in FL or do you trailer this boat down there?
Your line is twisted. sitting om the hook going around and around, twists the line. When pulled it is straight. As the pressure releases on the back side of the winch, the line kinks from the twist. Same as a twisted water hose does. That plastic piece should come of so you can deal with that as it happens. But pull the line out an untwist it.
Bro that’d be awesome for you to make your way out to Florida to see what it’s like to transition from river/lake to the ocean. Personally I’m kind of freak out to boat in the ocean lol but it’ll be cool to learn from someone that’s going from river boating to ocean (guinea pig) lol jk but nah I think I’d be able learn a lot from it.
You got lucky you didn't mess anything up buddy you need to look into the company Stryker boats if you carry yours to Florida you're going to need a dinghy anyway
Get this channel to 1 million subs. Content is 🔥 ……I grew up right in this area so call me biase……. However dudes been grinding for a minute, content quality is great. He is a sick cliff diver. I have never seen Brandon show folks anything but respect and that is commendable.
I’m guessing ya don’t like your cookware? lol. Use wooden spoons ! Just giving you grief. Love the content and still trying to get into the boat life but…… the wife is absolutely against it. One argument at a time! 😂
Boat life looks amazing. Being an introvert the solitude of being able to get away and be by myself is definitely a plus.
Super great for alone time!
That is a realistic thought, yrs ago on my friends house boat on lake Cumberland in Kentucky was an Awsome time & sooo peaceful .
I love that you showed the first cliff you ever jumped and talked about where you came from to where you are now. Keep rising!!!
Thanks!! Yeah it's pretty wild to look back to where I started!
We always pull forward over the anchor before hoisting it. Less strain on the windlass.
Thinking this is a Ford yacht: Fix Or Repair Daily! lol
Thats your Yacht , dont let anyone tell u it isnt. There just haters. You live life to the fullest and some people are just jealous. 😅
haha thank you!
Running aground is inevitable. If you boat long enough, it will happen.
Thanks for the video!
haha thats the truth!

That's a yatch if I've ever seen one, happy you got the boat out of that mess, terrifying situation none the less
Thank you! Yeah it was not fun
When you cannot get your anchor up. Drive the boat directly over the anchor and tie off the line. The wave action will then release the anchor.
I have done that in the past but this time the windlass was getting bound up!
@@BrandonGross your yacht isnt too big, but its best not to pull the boat forward with the windlass
what i just go fetch the ancor and get it out altho i have a arimat the 5m long inflatable

Brandon you make me laugh 😅 ! You know the depth is very shallow and you still go down ! ❤😂
Your best boat adventure yet! 😃💪💪
Glad you didn’t risk the jump!
Sometimes you have to know when to say no! haha

Another great video!.. “Al dente” is an Italian term that means "to the tooth" and refers to pasta that is cooked until it is firm but not mushy
And if you have ever seen a shark in the water with you it is quite the sight 😂when you didn’t notice it was there before
Glad you are quick on your feet to get the boat out of shallow waters. That would be terrifying.
Looking forward to the adventures for Florida. I know it will be sick.
Yeah it was a little stressful, but yeah i'm really looking forward to florida!
@ I wanna move down to Fort Lauderdale or get a boat lol that’s where I’m at
You're RIGHT! Technically it is considered a YACHT.
I series wired a corded handset control to my windlass switch Brandon and by the looks of it this would of been a good help to you there (a second pair of hands) as you said, being able to take it into the chain/motor locker with you. Worth a look 👍🇬🇧

Going into the creek stressed me out a bit. I have a similar "boat" and wouldn't dare.
Good winds on the way to sunny Florida!!

For me is really stressing be on shallow waters. But man i enjoyed your vid, because I would never have gone that far.
Need to get you a blow up dingy with a trolling motor

That’s some shallow water reminds me of the time being in Detroit lakes in Minnesota on a pontoon boat didn’t work out so good
Cool intro bro 😅
Thanks! I love being able to just hop in the water from bed haha
I'm glad you're skinny enough to fit in all those tiny places on that boat 😀
Hahaha this video nothings go’s as planned
People who say it's not a yacht don't know what a yacht is.
Florida? There’s hurricanes down in Florida! Come to California!
I cook my pasta like that as well, then it doesnt get too soggy once you sauce it
exactly!!
@@BrandonGross 🤌
@@BrandonGross only way to eat pasta, everyone else is weird! 🙂
Props are probably not the same anymore 😢
Generator just lost prime because you were in such shallow water. Easy fix to prime it.
I was hoping it was that simple
@ ahhh, really. What did it turn out being. Love your channel dude!
Mean comment for the algorithm
Whats up man. Why you ever have a family ride alone.
😮oh no…..!
Thank god you made it…!🤗
Get out. Not video it. Always beach bow in. Check your intakes, and speed tabs. Pull her out and put elephant ears and blow water thru
😊
what happened to your bluefin sup

Al dente - to the tooth. You like pasta the way it’s supposed to be made. 😎
Did you notice the stamp for 16 persons next to your yacht stamp?
That number 16 is referring to emergency channel 16. Capacity is unlimited!
Hello blue another corker of a video. That was a close one, glad you didn't get properly stuck. Anywho man bye for now.🤗😃✋✌️👍
