    A co-worker of mine had a 75 Cadillac like this and he also had a daughter who at 16 years old weighed 85 pounds wet. He taught her to parallel park this Cadillac perfectly. It was time for her to take her driver's test in Western Pennsylvania and the State Trooper got in and said to her to parallel park this in a pre-measured parking place at the testing facility. She parked it perfectly and the Trooper said if she could park that Cadillac in that spot like that he did not need to take her out on the road. He passed her on the spot. Both father and daughter we're thrilled. My dad had a 75 like this and what a great car it was. Wish I still had it.

      My younger brother took his road test at 17 back in 1986 in a 1973 fire engine Red Cadillac Eldorado with the white landau top in lower Manhattan and nailed it the first time !!!👍 The seats looked exactly like this car !!!

    They don't get any better than this. This was the last decade of the great Caddy's. The best thing ever to come out of Detroit.

    The last of the truly great full size American 2 door cars. The design is as fresh today as it was in 1975.

    Finally the one that sounds like a proper Cadillac. So many of these videos you can hear the engine as it's driving by or pulling away, bad mufflers the young guys that sell these cars don't seem to know they're not supposed to make any noise. When you're standing at the rear of this car you should barely be able to perceive its running. Perfect

    My first car was a 74' Coupe. Man do I miss that car. Had a 75' Sixty Special Fleetwood at one point too. This 75' is beautiful! Nothing like the ride in these cars.

    • @CH67guy1
      @CH67guy1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sixty Special Fleetwood Broughams are among the greatest cars Detroit ever made. I mean the ones produced before 1977, and most certainly not the front wheel drive Fleetwoods of the 1980s. They were interesting, but just didn’t live up to what a Cadillac is supposed to be.

    • @4RXLA
      @4RXLA 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Jose Escobedo as an owner of the same car, you’d be surprised at how much plastic it has. For example the wood grain on the doors and dash is plastic.

    • @salazmiguel5542
      @salazmiguel5542 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those plastic pieces in the tail lights can be upgraded with metal ones or fiberglass, so don't have to worry again when the plastic starts to deform!

    My 1st car was a 77, but my Dad had a 75. Could not believe how this car would cruise on the highway at 75 to 80 all day long, maybe turning 1200 to 1500 rpm, with the air conditioning freezing your nuts off.. miss these fine automobiles dearly.

      What was its length?

  • @eswyatt
    @eswyatt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Car is legit. You can see @ 1:20 the gap between the door and fender-hood is even. That's pretty much the first thing to go as these cars age. Some get so bad you can stick your fingers in there to the knuckles. Also a little-known fact: @ 8:23 you can see a wide floor rail running next to the frame rail for the length of the passenger compartment. The other C-body coupes like the Oldsmobile 98 didn't have this. Cadillac just put a lot more bracing on their cars than did Olds or Buick.

    A silver on black ‘75 Coupe was my grandparents first of many Caddies to come. I was only 2 at the time and my parents had a hearty laugh that I was terrified and cried refusing to get in it because I was afraid of the cavernous black interior. Their 82 Coupe, dove gray with blue leather became my first car at 16. If some dame hadn’t t-boned me, spinning the 2 ton beast around several times, I’d have it today. Damn it.

    Had a close friend in Roanoke VA that had a 75 Deville 4 Dr. It was navy blue with the cloth interior that was blue also. It was more comfortable than any other Cadillac I ever drove. He had a custom van and his wife had a Pacer lol. The Caddy was a 3rd car so not many miles on it. I drove it a lot if I needed to go out of town he lent it to me. It could eat some gas though!!! It had the 500 engine in it

    My father had a powder blue/white/white version with the added "Rolls-Royce" grille. I learned to drive on it and I still have nightmares from being taught by my impatient Italian father :( Anyway, I read once that these are the longest coupes ever made. The one thing that confuses me is that if it is a '75, it has a '76 grille on it. The '75 grille was more of an "egg-crate" style.

    Deep pockets, a prerequisite then and today as well. This land yacht burns 93 octane fuel, gets about 8 miles to the gallon going downhill with a tailwind, and will set you back around $100 just to fill it up. Go for it if you don’t care about what it costs to own it

    This was my very first car when I got my license. Started my cadillac love. I’ve owned 7 so far and will get another. I give my left nut for this thing!

    And I love the split bench front seat. Very hard to find in 2 door Cadillacs of this vintage.

    Us smart guys (yea there's still a few of us around) know... this is it man... the high point of or formally macho culture. I am thankful we were allowed to express our self's back then.
